I am severely afraid of the dentist and the anxiety of going has kept me away for over 5 years; so naturally, you can understand how I got to the point where I would need a scaling and root planing. I called around trying to find who could be able to put me to sleep because I was afraid that I may leave mid appointment if it got too bad. I ended up here because this was listed as being covered by my insurance. A couple xrays later, it was discovered that my gums were in bad shape. This made me nervous and of course, I asked to be put to sleep. I was told that I wouldn't need to be put to sleep and that the numbness from the anesthesia would work. I was apprehensive as I've been told this by previous dentist before, only to be in pain and then to be told, "ok just a little bit longer" which I just don't respect. However, when I first met Azadeh, I told her my fears and she absolutely listened!!!! For a complete scaling and root planing, I needed two appointments. Both times, mid appointment, she stopped to ask how I was feeling and if I needed more anesthesia. The first appointment went so well, that the second time ( I went today), I told her that I didn't need that much. She was so kind but also very thorough. I could hear that she was really getting in there, BUT I barely felt any discomfort! After both appointments she recommended me a specific tooth paste because I have VERY sensitive gums. I've been using that toothpaste ever since the first appointment and can definitely see the results. I can't wait until my check up in a month. Shout out to her right hand Donna and all the women at the front desk who were equally calm, compassionate, clear, reassuring, and kind. (Especially to a first timer who couldn't stop crying in the waiting room before her procedure!) Gum grafts are very technical and you want the best of the best. That's Dr. Seyedain. Not only did she go to great lengths to increase the predictability of my graft before surgery, but she also talked me off the ledge the day-of with the kind of bedside manner that's rare in a busy practice. Dr. Seyedain isn't just patient, empathetic, and an expert at her craft--she is also astoundingly generous with her cell phone number and incredibly responsive during the recovery period. She and her team make an objectively miserable thing much, much less miserable--and 100% worth a rough few weeks. I couldn't recommend Locust Street Periodontics more. Your visits will start on time, your out-of-pocket responsibility will be easy to understand (in advance!), and every touchpoint with the team will be friendly and informative. They sent me to debt collections... as in I received a letter from debt collectors before I got a call from their office of any kind. When I speak to the debt collectors, they identify themselves as such - but the dental office is adamant that it's not collections and it's just their new vendor for payments. The issue was on the EOB itself. It literally stated " claim denied, mismatched provider information. please call delta dental and provide your dental license number and dental NPI number". The claim of service was from February of 2023. I received debt collections in the mail in late March and was livid. No one from the office even tried to call me? And clearly no one tried to read the letter to resubmit the information to Delta Dental. Every time I spoke to Delta Dental, they said there was nothing I could do to help and " all your doctors office has to do is call us and provide us the license information and you'll have a paid claim". This all made sense to me, since I had never paid a co-pay for cleanings in the past, but once switching to Dr. Solange - like I said, everything went down hill with her front of office. After numerous calls to both Delta and Solange Dentistry, the office manager finally agreed to follow through and do their part. Delta dental said they had 5 years to re-adjudicate claims, Solange claimed they only have 1 year and wanted to pass the bill on to me.. which makes 0 sense, since all of it was clearly their fault as stated on the letter. If they had followed through they would have had a paid claim. Weeks later, after all this had settled - the office manager had the audacity to call me and ask a favor and ask if I would still pay the claim because "we've been spending a lot of time calling Delta dental and trying to get this claim paid". Absolutely appalling and horrendous. No way I'll ever be a patient there again, and I wouldn't suggest anyone go there either based on my experience. In addition, prior to this horrible experience, both my husband and I experienced inexperienced front desk management. One time I went to get a fitting for mouthguard. I even wrote down on my personal calendar "dental $86 total, out of pocket $37.5 night guard" bc I'm insanely organized. Later, when they called me they said the night guard would be $400... okay...?? We experience a lot of confusion from the front desk, making us feel like they don't know what they're doing and they're figuring it out as they go. Miscommunication amongst staff members, not following up on appointments or previous calls... the new office left too much to be desired. I'm sure it's obvious... but yes we both left to seek better dental care. Good luck

I was refused a refund for the X-rays. I told the office that I wouldn't be coming back. And then I was offered a refund that would be held and applied to my next visit. They were basically holding my refund hostage in exchange for keeping me as a patient. I again said that I wouldn't be coming back and they kept my refund. Bottom line. They don't care about you as a person or patient. They want to keep you coming back so they can continue to bill you. Even when what they do isn't covered by your insurance.
