When I went in it was not busy and not once did the Dentist ask how my day was or anything about me. This Suprised me coming from my previous dentist and being related to dentists that say making a connection is the first thing you want to do with your customer to show you care. Instead I was told there was no other option even though I've had the same repairs done through using gel instead of injections. Which injections are more expensive then the alternative. Instead of giving options they gave the option and said I could leave and go back to the dentist I had before. Not only was it the environment but it my tooth that got fixed had to have an extension which they chose a shade of yellow instead of white. Now I am stuck with a paper two shades darker extension. The assistants and coordinators made up for it with the environment and atmosphere they created however. The main dentist felt like what we call in the business world an "energy vampire". These people suck the energy out of every situation. I do not see how this could be called a family dentistry with these things happening.

My family started going to True Dental when our dentist, Dr. Thompson, joined the group. We…read morenoticed that service started to slip after they moved to their new office on Gunbarrel Rd. The last three visits my husband and I have had, we've been called back 25-30 minutes past our scheduled appointment time. It's frustrating to arrive 10-15 minutes early, then see everyone that arrived after you called back before you are. As many times as they call, e-mail, and text with appoinment reminders, I expect them to honor my time and be prompt as well. But most frustrating is the lack of communication of Dr. Thompson's departure. I visited him in September, with a follow up the next week. I was surprised that a different dentist performed the procedure. When I asked, I was only told that Dr. Thompson was no. longer with True Dental. My husband called before his visit a few months later asking who his denist would be, but was only told the practice had several dentists. He didn't find out who his dentist was until he was in the room. There has never been any formal communcation about the change. We are looking for another dentist with a smaller office that provides more personal service and values their patients.

I was new in town and needed a crown put on an implant and post done before I moved. Trying out a…read morenew dentist to finish up such a major process made me a bit stressed. Dr Van Zyl was wonderful! He was gentle, patient, thorough, and forthcoming about what to expect. He took a mold and had a new tooth fit very well within a little over a week because of my out of town schedule. I couldnt believe how well the tooth fit! I was worried about needing adjustment during my trip. But once the crown was in, it just felt natural! Then my night guard cracked. Dr Van Zyl made me a new one. So happy. Next time I hope I only need to go to dentist for a cleaning:) Love this dentist! Especially since I am usually the nightmare patient. If something has a chance of going wrong, it usually does with me. The office staff is wonderful! They are very good about reminding you of upcoming appointments through email and text too. Love this because life gets busy!

1. My wife had a procedure on July, 16th of 2024. She complained immediately that the nitrous…read moreoxide was not flowing. She was more or less ignored, but kept telling the assistant. The dentist came in immediately and painfully injected her, as planned, with a second anesthetic, and started his procedure. The assistant then agreed that the nitrous oxide was off. On July 17th (the next day), after discussion with the office manager, since they would not let me talk to the denist, she agreed not charge me for the gas. I asked for a bill, which was sent to me. That bill showed a $495 credit. 2. Regarding that credit, my wife was told on the day of the procedure that we would receive a check for the difference. Although I expected a charge card credit, we did not receive a check or a charge card credit. I called on August 20th, 2024 to inquire about the refund. I was told it would be sent "within 30 days from today". Since this was now som 35 days after the procedure and a complete billing cycle, I want everyone to know that they will not issue ANY refund until you call them. 3. Nothing was a pleasant experience, whereas our regular dentist has a pleasant comforting demeanor through his entire office. Poor "bedside" and poor atmosphere.

I was told well the bills arent sent in your name they are sent in the head of house holds name .... then when i told her i didnt consent to the work done because i had no job i couldnt pay for it she said well we wouldnt have had you sign anything so everything there is by word of mouth he said she said things. So me telling them i didnt consent to the extra work being done on my teeth didnt matter because her hygienist would never do that well she did and no one ecer said this would be extra or anything i will never return to somewhere that doesnt obviously care about people and is willing to sue people over things they didnt consent to . Mark McComie likes to commit insurance fraud, he charge me for fillings on my #8 & #9 tooth when all he did was actually polish my teeth when I first came to him. Then he filed claims with my insurance company saying he filled my #8 tooth when all he did was throw desensitizer on my tooth because he overfiled my #8 tooth when he was in the process of filling my #7 tooth. And when he filed it down too much he made it sensitive (I didn't know was as sensitive until the numbing wore off) I verified this with his assistant while I was there that day because I felt it. So I took pictures of it when I got to my car and also when I got home so that I can have evidence to prove to Mark that he actually did file over on my #8 tooth But when I came to him with this information after a couple of weeks he tried to claim he didn't do it and that he runs and "HONEST COMPANY" and then he said he would fix it, well he quickly threw some desensitizer on it very sloppy, it took him less than a minute but in the process of polishing my tooth he chipped my #8 but I didn't know he did it until about a week later. When I felt it I thought it was just excess agent left on the tooth, but what makes him so horrible is he knew he did it and didn't tell me. You have to be a real horrible dentist to know you damaged someone teeth and not say anything, unless you purposely damaged that person's tooth. I don't know if he's a racist or he don't care how he treats people. Your not a good Dentist if you have to deleted all negative reviews on Google to make yourself look good. We all need to report this scam artist to get him shut down.

He took X-rays, did an exam, and basically told me it was all in my imagination because he could find no crack in my tooth. After paying Dr. Brock's expensive exam fees, I saw other endodontists, I had to have a root canal, crown, and eventually an extraction/implant. The implant failed and multiple additional repeated implant surgery from an implant specialist left me with permanent nerve issues. Although I have no expert proof that an earlier diagnosis would have saved my tooth, I suspect that it might have. Regardless, all I received here was poor beside manner, no diagnosis, and dismissive treatment. Will never return to help them pay for their expensive office space.

It's all about the dentist! I first saw Dr Owens over 20 yrs ago. I always made sure my family got…read moreregular dental care, but I didn't go, thinking my teeth were too crooked. The previous two dentists I saw for extractions wanted me to wear braces, which seemed pointless and embarrassing to me, after 40. I finally found Dr Owens; he never pressured me to straighten my teeth. He gently explained my teeth weren't too crooked for care; I could avoid disease and keep those remaining with regular dental care. He cured my pain by filling two very large cavities, not promising how long they would last because of their size. I finally had one capped 15 yrs later, the other remains over 20 yrs later. I can't believe he was as harsh as described in one review - maybe there's more to that story that she's not telling or telling inaccurately. She admitted she already hated him, and had not felt comfortable around him since 10. At 15, if she felt that way, why would she not want her parent with her, saying she was old enough to go alone? Sure sounds a little odd to me, but I don't know, since I wasn't there. Perhaps some patients are more problematic than others. As for his claimed mistreatment of children, my son never had a problem with him and always liked him. All I can say is that for over 20 years he's always been very proficient, professional, prompt, kind, soft spoken and compassionate with me and my family. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
