Forcing yourself to drink all the horrible tasting liquid. Spending the night in the bathroom. I am very pleased to say Dr. Andy Kramer of Genevea Il. was my Physician. Dr. Kramer and his Staff were polite, professional and helpful throughout the process. His bowel prep included over the counter products I bought at Walgreens and Gatorade making it a breeze. The procedure was a walk in the park. He removed two polops. After Dr. Kramer analyized these, he called me personally to let me know now I'm set for ther next 10 years. The pre op nurse I had was amazing. She made a comment before the procedure how relaxed I was. I told her, "I know I'm in good hands." I got a nebulizer treatment, which felt like a spa ;-) feeling so so much better!

He spends plenty of time with you, and involves you in decisions about your care. He remembers things like whether you're sensitive to drugs, when other doctors have dismissed side effects that I've experienced. He has occasionally stepped in to help me with migraine meds when my neurologist was MIA. I have recommended him to multiple people. The billing practice here is to contact you shortly before an appointment and tell you that there's a balance due, and you need to pay it before your appointment. It was enforced in an overzealous way that was difficult to not take personally. My husband spoke to the doctor about a year ago and came to an agreement that billing inquiries would be directed to my husband rather than to me. I was recently contacted about a balance and I gave them my husband's contact information. They refused to contact him and called and emailed me again until we spoke with the doctor. I am giving a five star rating because Dr. Chen apologized and asked that we forward the offending emails to him. He assured us that he would speak to the appropriate people and take care of the problem. The billing manager has also apologized and agreed to not to contact me. I am hoping that we can put this behind us and focus on my care.

She went on to add that people with this condition are time consuming (sorry?), and her parting shot was "There's no real treatment and no cure, you know." Holy crap. Now, it's a good thing I already know a bit about this condition, because imagine I was a patient with utterly no knowledge and THIS was the first person who spoke to me about my ailment?! The doctor would do well to get a more empathetic customer service staff.
