Everyone can cut a long hair, few inches of, some layers done, but not so many can cut short hair. Emily can , she is the best!!! Called to make an initial appointment and whatever guy that answered the phone was just beyond rude, passed me on to another woman without as much as an explanation and she wasnt much more helpful in either finding a time that worked nor asking about what I was looking for. I've never been unhappy with any of the services I have received here over the years. I moved from the city and it took me awhile to find an Aveda concept salon closer to me. I appreciate that I can use the same stylist for a color and a cut. It's a very professional atmosphere but everyone is still down to earth and friendly. I've been going here for years and all the girls couldn't be nicer! Everyone is very professional but fun at the same time. They really go out of your way to make you feel great and look great! Stylist was Kristin. Both she & front desk gal were very nice. We did a highlight & tint to my hair. So 2 colors. Trim of bangs. Hair washed , dried & styled. No cut. $145. Long hair. Mary is my stylist and she always does an amazing job! She takes the time to listen to what your ideas are and will give you honest feedback on if she thinks your type of hair will work with that style or color. I've been going to her for 5 or 6 years now and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE her. This is an Aveda concept salon. I have been going there basically ever since I moved to Chicagoland (after one mistake somewhere else) and I love this place! It's not too foo-foo or stuffy but very nice and the staff is wonderful! When my original hairdresser left, I started going to Kristen and I highly recommend her! I have been going to Joseph John Salon for over 20 years, starting in Des Plaines and following them to Mt. Prospect. I have had a variety of stylists and they are all excellent. Diane runs a great shop and there is NEVER any drama - which is a huge accomplishment with all of the hormones in one place. DeAnn is my go to stylist and I am thrilled she has chosen to work here. DeAnn knows great movies and books while solving the problems of the world! Several friends are now going to Joseph John because of the fantastic look and cuts that are done here. I love it here and probably won't go anywhere else for a long time. I've been going to Joseph John for about, 10 years now and have always stuck with Kerri. She is amazing! I've been bleach blonde, dark brown, and now red and have always left satisfied and happy! The staff is always friendly and will help you with any questions you have. It is a bit pricey, but I don't mind paying as much because I know the products are better for my hair and Kerri knows what she's doing! Try this place out! read more

I found my forever salon. I am so happy to find Diane. She asks me what I want and does that. Sometimes I need suggestions and she knows what will work for my hair and face. I booked an hair appointment over a month ago with my stylist Deann, but couldn't get an appointment until July. I was so desperate for a haircut I called back to see if I could get something sooner with any stylist. The soonest was with Emily and just 2 weeks earlier. That was probably the biggest mistake I could of made. I got my hair cut on 6.23.20 . Emily is a very nice person but when it came time to my hair that was another story. I clearly show her a picture on my iPad of a haircut at shoulder length (it's considered a medium length bob) with the bangs to the side. What I got was a bob an inch below my ears. It is absolutely horrible. It way too short. As she was cutting the back off Emily asked me how the length and I told her it's way too short, but she keep cutting. I was also told she wouldn't be able to blow dry my hair to see what it looked like because of Cov19. So when I got home I tried to style my hair the best I could. I was just sick because there was nothing I could no now. I don't even know how to work with what I have. I called the Salon and talked to Emily and told her that my hair looks terrible, it was too short and not even close to the length showed in the picture. I told her I always wear ponytails. There's will be no more ponytails. She had to cut off 4 inches. Lesson learned. If you have a stylist that you like stick with him or her even if you have to wait weeks to a month to see them. Don't make the stupid mistake I did because you will pay the price. To make matters worse I just found out that my hairstylist is retiring so I will be in the market for a new stylist and a new salon but not for at least 6-8 months when my hair may just reach shoulder length. read more

I have been getting my hair done at Joseph John Salon for 9+ years and have gone to many of the stylists there. They are all great and I have never left unhappy. I have gone from blonde to dark brown even red, short hair and long. They use Aveda products and everything they use smells amazing and works well. My favorite stylist is Mary but would recommend any one there. read more

They really listen to what you want and unlike most places when you tell them to only cut off an inch that's ALL they will do!! The whole staff is great & the vibes are even better!!
