I literally just got a haircut and color from Joseph Anthony and absolutely love it! I normally don't pamper myself, so this was a nice treat. The salon is very intimate, bright, and clean. I'm not sure what he did, but the lighting makes everyone look so pretty! I showed him a photo of the color I wanted and he also gave me some suggestions that turned out fantastic! He added papaya and curry highlights to my hair, which seemed interesting. I was wondering if it was edible LOL. While I was waiting for my color to develop, he also put a lavender scented cloth on me, which was delightful and soothing. As for the cut, I didn't want anything drastic done to my hair, so he just cleaned up my layers and trimmed the dead ends. When he works, he is very meticulous and makes you feel comfortable. Melanie Culmer at Joseph Anthony's salon has been doing my hair for almost 20 years now. I discovered her by asking a client of mine with a REALLY good hair cut where she got her hair done. My whole world changed the first time Melanie cut my hair! Prior to Melanie I absolutely hated my hair and would have told you it was just straight, fine, stubborn, and grew straight into my face and I couldn't do anything with it. Now I actually have strangers asking me where I get my hair done! It's hard to explain but she spends a lot of time shaping it, and it just lays right when she's done with it. She does excellent color and highlights too. I haven't compared prices in a long time but I think her pricing is really competitive - I think I pay $125 for cut, root color, and highlights. If you're looking for a great hair dresser - or convinced you just have bad hair - you've got to give Melanie a try. This review is 4 months overdue. Joseph Anthony made my wedding hair dreams come true for my August 2, 2015 wedding! I can't say enough how happy I was/am with how beautifully my hair came out! He made my natural red hair shine through with his highlighting and glossing! I will not be letting anyone else touch my hair anymore! Red is such a tricky color to play with and he hits it every single time - there is a fine line between auburn/red (good) and fire engine/Ariel/rockstar red (not good on me - believe me I have been there)! He fit me in at the last minute ( I am a notorious procrastinator and with all the planning details getting my hair done slipped my list!) and worked a miracle for me! Joseph Anthony is a hidden gem! Joseph is a genuine runway stylist with a bedside manner like Patch Adams. He is happy to give consultations as to styling and doesn't try to push the most recent trend. His salon stocks some of the finest professional products I've ever used and I haven't found them anywhere else. Twice now Joseph has helped me reinvent my hairstyle to correspond with life changes. He worked with me patiently to find a style that would be appropriate for my career that I was also comfortable with personally, and recommended products that would be best for my hair type, which he also showed me how to apply. As good a stylist as Joseph is, I would expect him to be rushed and incredibly busy, but he's always made me feel like his only customer. In fact, I am usually the only customer in his salon and even though I know he has customers coming in behind me, I never feel like he's in a hurry. He takes his time, and he is an artist who loves to make you look better than you thought you could. His product line is unique and highest grade. He always provides the full-service salon experience, at rates far lower than one would expect. Going to his salon is a relaxing experience. I have been going to Joseph for years now and every single time I enter the salon I am immediately greeted with a warm welcome and offered a beverage. I usually have to explain exactly what color I want, and it still usually isn't what I want but Joseph just knew the color without much explaining on my part at all. Hes intuitive. Hes born to be a hairdresser. I love how he gives people a white tshirt to change into so as not to get color on your own clothes! He offered me something to drink. He was attentive to my daughter and asked if she needed anything while she was waiting (shes 8). When we left my daughter said I really like that guy!! Very cheerful staff, and happy environment at the salon. I read all the great reviews on yelp and was expecting a great haircut, unfortunately my hair was cut uneven. And not on purpose! The right side was clearly longer than the left. I called and came back in to get it fixed. At the follow-up appt, Joseph Anthony kept asking me if I thought my hair looked even. I wanted to respond and say, "aren't you the professional?! " but I didn't. I did comment that it looked now shorter now than the right, Joseph Anthony assured me that this was pretty much an illusion and just due to the different weight in my hair.
