She then texted me the morning of the appointment and summarily canceled. I guess that retroactively she wasn't feeling well. No offer to prioritize my rescheduling but I was free to go back on line and find an appointment. I had taken the morning off (unpaid) to get a haircut. My time and (in)convenience is apparently of no concern here. I might have let this go but I read a review on Yelp describing similar scenario with this business. Buyer beware. NOT reliable.

I figured it was a sign to finally check the place out. Here's how it went. PARKING Welcome to Pacific Beach. Finding parking can be tough, and finding free parking can be even tougher. Give yourself a little extra time before your appointment. SEATING The shop can accommodate about four customers at a time if all the barbers are in. VIBES Pacific Beach is one of San Diego's signature gems. Beautiful coastline, a lot of personality, and a laid-back culture where flip-flops and hoodies are perfectly acceptable attire. As for the shop itself, the moment you walk in, you realize it's equal parts barbershop, lifestyle brand, and community space. The decor is modern and artistic, with subtle homages to their Jersey roots that make the space feel curated rather than corporate. There's always something going on--music playing in the background, an occasional live DJ set, or a big game on TV. It feels less like a business and more like a gathering spot. SERVICE I had Boobi, and he was a cool dude. He knew his stuff, paid attention to the details, and was genuinely enjoyable to converse with. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Reasonable prices, great service, and an overall pleasant experience. This isn't your traditional barbershop. Good shops give cuts; great shops give cuts and community. This may be on the pricier side for a haircut, but after experiencing the atmosphere and level of care, I can see why people keep coming back. Props to Camillo, Boobi and the rest of the Braveheart gang. TIPS * Book ahead--appointments can fill up.
