I saw Dr. Youn about five years ago and had an incredibly negative experience. Now that I have…read morereceived the care I needed from a more caring doctor, I feel it is important to share my experience with Dr. Youn so others can make an informed decision before seeing him. I scheduled my visit to discuss complications following a surgery in another state. Upon meeting Dr. Youn and telling him about this issue, I had my medical records in hand, which he refused to review. When I asked questions about how I can rectify my issue, he claimed he couldn't provide answers because he didn't know my medical history. If a doctor doesn't take the time to review records when offered, how can they provide adequate care? Beyond the lack of professionalism, his bedside manner was shockingly cold. I was met with dismissiveness and impatience, as if my concerns were an inconvenience. The entire interaction was incredibly rushed, with Dr. Youn giving a quick exam and giving little answers, seeming eager to leave the room before I even had time to ask questions and get dressed. Adding to the frustration, there was no patient portal or direct way to communicate with the doctor outside of limited phone hours, which is highly unusual for a medical practice. It's possible that this has changed over the past few years. Shortly after posting my review on Yelp and writing a letter to Dr. Youn, I received a call from him. He did not apologize for his behavior, but he did spend thirty minutes speaking with me. He asked me to read some information to him from my medical history (something he refused to review when I saw him in person), and he gave some insight. I found it convenient for him that he gave me the care I needed after sending him a contentious letter and publishing a public review, rather than providing the care I needed when seeing him for an appointment. So why am I deciding to publish this review now? Accountability is important. Seeing that others have had similar experiences, it is clear that Dr. Youn's aloof behavior has not gone unnoticed. I encourage him to make a significant adjustment.

Dr. Damore made sure my treatments, surgery, and PT were promptly approved by Insurance so I didn't have to jump through hoops as I previously had. For over 3 1/2 years I was in a lot of pain, couldn't move my arm (frozen shoulder), and couldn't sleep. I wish I would have seen him first because I believe if I would have had surgery soon after my accident, my bones would have healed properly. Although I'll never be as I was before my accident, my quality of life was much improved by the surgery and care from Dr Damore.

Edward Damore is the most incompetent, insensitive, and deceptive doctor we have ever encountered…read more He performed a routine tendon surgery on my wife's hand. Once the stitches were removed the wound was not healing; his analysis was that my wife had a preexisting condition which was preventing this and pressured us into a second surgery. After the second surgery, one of the stitches was not holding so in his office, this brutal man without any kind of numbing added more stitches to my wife's hand. When he removed those stitches he *left some stitches behind* and careful analysis of photos my wife had taken throughout this ordeal showed that some of the stitches had been there from the first surgery. It was those stitches that were irritating my wife's skin and preventing it from healing. He was incompetent enough to not take out his own stitches fully. He was indecent and insensitive enough to blame it on my wife's preexisting condition even though that was not responsible. He was irresponsible enough to not sterilize his tools or properly wash his hands before touching my wife's open wound: each time he would wash his hands, he would follow that up by cleaning his sink (!), and one time he dropped a tool, picked it up and kept going. As a result of this utter incompetence what should have been one challenging month for my wife is more than a 3 month ordeal. When we showed my wife's hand and documentation to other professionals, they were shocked at the quality of the work and even his notes. If you value your health do not let this butcher near you.

In the spring of 2025, my husband, Jamie, needed to have his gallbladder removed after experiencing persistent problems and inflammation. His surgery was initially scheduled for about a month later, but when his symptoms continued to worsen, we contacted Dr. Nguyen. After discussing what Jamie was experiencing, we decided it was best not to wait--and it was a good thing we didn't. Dr. Nguyen performed the surgery the very next day at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Nguyen is not only an expert in his field, but he also has an exceptional bedside manner. He was attentive, reassuring, and continued to follow up after the procedure. Jamie recovered wonderfully. Fast-forward to September 2026, when Jamie developed severe abdominal pain and went to the emergency room at El Camino Hospital. Testing revealed appendicitis, and we were so relieved to discover that Dr. Nguyen was there and would once again be performing his surgery. Jamie has endured several serious health challenges over the past few years, including vestibular migraines and open-heart surgery at Stanford for an aortic aneurysm, which required part of his aorta to be replaced. Needless to say, he has been through a lot. Seeing Dr. Nguyen immediately lifted his spirits because he knew he would literally be in the best hands. Jamie is currently recovering in the hospital, where he is being monitored because of his medical history, but the surgery went extremely well, and we are confident he will have another smooth recovery. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Nguyen's expertise, compassion, attentiveness, and genuine care for his patients. He takes the time necessary to help ensure the best possible outcome and makes both the patient and their family feel comfortable and supported. Dr. Nguyen is an amazing surgeon, and we recommend him wholeheartedly. If you need a procedure within his area of expertise, do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment with him. You will not be disappointed.
