October comes and goes and we were advised several times when we called that all the items were in and we were next on the install list. Continue to call and whoever answers the phones wouldn't give any details or stating that Richard would call us back and never did. Continued to call and finally someone different answers, this is in November, and tells us our carpet was never even ordered! She calls us back the next day and says they just placed the order and it would be delivered in a few weeks. Not happy at this point, but ok delays happen. Still no word from Richard about the install. I finally email explaining that this is unprofessional and that this needs to be done by the 15th so we can come up for Christmas. Spoke with Richard on Friday December 17th and advised that it was finished. I show up today, Dec 19th, and it's not finished. Different carpet installed in one bedroom, carpet not tacked down or even cut in some places, furniture in wrong place, doors not installed, random baseboards not installed, etc. I called Richard today and he said oh yeah I didn't order enough so that was what we did and ordered more carpet that will be here in a few weeks. 6 months later and I'm still dealing with this and it is a total nightmare.

Their service was friendly and knowledgeable. They installed our carpet as soon as it came in and did a fast, professional job. Very nice flooring selections, and I think their carpeting prices were comparable to what we would have paid anywhere else. He complained about us in our home to his subordinate the apparently we don't understand what stay off the tile means or some crap like that. Then he used the wrong color grout in one of the bathrooms (so it is now a different color than ALL the other grout in the house). His carpet guy then broke an already laid piece of tile when he installed the carpet. All that crap and my mom still paid him full price. His dad (the actual Tom from Tom's carpeting) was fantastic.. his son (the current owner) is NOT. I would never use or recommend this guy to anyone.

Finally, on the third attempt I spoke to the owners wife (co-owner) and told her what my project was and would entail, then for 45 minutes she proceeded to tell me how busy they were, how they can't get supplies in to finish work, and how there's no one willing to work for them. When I noticed their address was one block from my house I told her "we're neighbors and just let me know when you can make it to give me a quote, you can even walk here." Also, after she stated 'they couldn't find anyone wanting to work,' I told her that my friend (a retired 30 year experienced construction contractor) was looking for work and to get back into the industry and I'd send him their way. He did reach out to the owners because he already knew them from being in the business and in his words, 'they don't seem interested in employing anyone.' (Huh? I thought you could find anyone to work?) So finally after 35 minutes of conversation, the co-owner told me to send her an email so she can have my contact information and they'll come and look at my project and give me a quote 'the first week of December' (this was in August 2021). Here I am 5.5 MONTHS LATER still awaiting a measly quote from this company. I haven't received a single phone call or email from them. So I recommend don't bother with this company, they'll tell you how busy they are NOT running their business and never show up as promised (typical Bishop). Also, realize that they actually don't do any work themselves, they subcontract most of their work to other local businesses, i.e. plumbing to Dean's plumbing, Electrical to Rollins Electric, HVAC to Bishop Heating, etc....if you need that kind of work done just go directly to those businesses and cut out "Orth" because they just act as the middle man and tack on more money to do things you can probably do yourself.
