This review is for Jeff and Eastern Sierra Plumbing only, not the guys they have doing the work. I paid the original invoice, even though I had no contract and no authorization from me to do the work. The system failed within three days of service. The failure was due to an incomplete snaking of the system on the first visit. Still, I was sent a second invoice. When I questioned Jeff as to why I was receiving a second invoice since the website clearly states that all work is guaranteed, I was given the first of many "you don't know anything about plumbing" replies. When I asked for a copy of anything showing I had authorized the replacement of pipes I was told again that I "don't know anything about plumbing" or I would not be asking for a contract. The excepts below are from the complaint filed with the CSLB.
Items of complaint:
No contract. No estimate. Excessive charge for work which was not authorized; request was only for snaking the main line. Eastern Sierra Plumbing changed pipes under my cabin without my authorization (no contract) which now leak black water. Main line was not snaked completely. Three days later the system backed up again. Eastern Sierra Plumbing came to fix it, snaked the main which they had not done previously but had billed me for, and sent a second bill. Again, no estimate or contract. I paid the first invoice just to be done with this. I will not pay the second invoice. Eastern Sierra Plumbing needs to stop sending me invoices. They also need to be held accountable for unauthorized, sub-standard work.
Remedy sought:
I tried talking to Jeff the company owner. I explained that there was no contract and that I had only authorized the snaking of the system, not the replacement of any lines, and that I should have been given a contract. His response was to tell me that I "don't know anything about plumbing!" After the fourth time of being yelled at the "YOU DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PLUMBING!!" I hung up. I am still receiving invoices from Eastern Sierra Plumbing. I have never received a contract or estimate or any form of authorization from them for the work performed. I want them held accountable for their unauthorized work, and I want them to stop sending me invoices. I would also like them to pay for having their mistakes corrected.
I was afraid to take action on this matter because of the threatening way I was treated by and yelled at by Jeff. As a single senior female, I was very intimidated. After speaking with the State Licensing Board, I am convinced that this is the type of business that most needs to be reported. read more
