*SHADY COMPANY* First off, I hate leaving bad reviews, but if you're shady, people need to know. I yelped this company for a quote. I specified I only wanted a diagnosis since I had a home warranty. When I got called back, I made it very clear to the woman that handles the phones, that if it's something inexpensive, I'll just pay for it, but if it's something expensive, I'll go through my home warranty plan. I was VERY clear on my yelped request and my phone call. I got a quote for a diagnosis for $75. They had Angel come to my house, and I showed him my water heater. He never left my house (this becomes important later). He's here about 30-40 minutes. He comes to my door and tells me the problem, and that he fixed it, and it's going be $295. First of all, I wasn't expecting an almost $300 bill. I told him that I could have just paid for a new water heater for around $700 dollars. He said water heaters cost around $2,600. I told him my warranty could have paid for someone to come out. He acted like he was my warranty specialist, and said it was wear and tear, so my warranty wouldn't pay for it. I said my house is old, that's what my warranty was made for. I also said I could have called my dad to look at it. I was mad, but I paid for it. I took it as a miscommunication from the woman to him. But I was hot when he left and googled water heater prices. They were literally $500-$1,000. Also, when I looked up my bill, at the end of the bill, it says if my water heater shuts if again, he recommends purchasing a new one. What a joke. I would have just bought a new one. I called the company back, of course no one picks up. Then Angel calls back and has the audacity to tell me I can submit my bill to the warranty company. Then I call him out on the $2,600 quote for a water heater, and he legit states, "Well that's our price." Then I ask how he had the part to my water heater since he never left and didn't know what brand I had, and he said that it's a universal part. So then I told him that he didn't leave the part behind kind of like when a mechanic shows you the part they took off in your car, and he said that he could bring it by if he was in the area. I'm sure he can. I told him I'd be leaving a yelp review, and he just kept on going on about the warranty and how I could submit the paperwork. And at the very end, he tells me, " At least you have hot water." What a joke. I'm a local attorney, so I have no beef with this company, but I highly recommend you not do business with such a shady company. $2,600 for a water heater, "That's our price." SMH read more

I had a serious problem with my drains. They weren't draining. My toilet was backing up into the bathtub in my only bathroom. I was panicked and anxious. I called around and spoke with a few companies. Angel came on time and communicated with me about all the issues and fixes. Tl;dr: punctual, knowledgable, professional, friendly, cost-effective! Had a bad leak in an iron drain pipe (with concrete slab foundation) and they were able to give a rough estimate over the phone (with the possibility of increase if they couldn't easily access a structurally sound portion of pipe. I called at like 6 yesterday and they were out to fix it today which was great because I couldn't use my kitchen or bathroom sinks as they both used this drain! Angel came within the timeframe they gave and was very professional and knowledgable! He worked really hard to make sure everything was done right and did a wonderful job! 07/12/2024 To make a long story short(er) we were 3 days into Triple Digit heat without our AC, and it was getting unbearable. Did not think they would be able to make it out until the next Monday at the earliest (so no AC over the weekend) and yet we got a call on late morning Friday letting us know they were on the way. In the first five minutes of being here and talking to the Technician I felt so much better, and in fact that if something had to be ordered he would do what he could to get us through the weekend until a permanent fix could be done on our unit. A huge shout out to Angel, who after walking me through the process of what needed to be done was able to fix the problem completely in a short amount of time. A great value for our money for sure, and there for us when we needed them most! The first call you should make when you have Air Conditioning issues should be to D+S Mechanical! These guys are great! I had my 4th job done this morning by D & S and EVERY time they are timely, professional and reasonably priced. I'm not much of a reviewer but here is my experience this week: -Had a plumbing stoppage at our house -Reported to our home warranty company -They sent a plumber out who spent 5 minutes walking around and said we needed to install something (~$1200) for him to clear the stoppage -Called D & S myself, they came right away and had the stoppage taken care of in less than 2 hours, without the $1200 part! -Eric and Angel from D & S have done multiple jobs for us and have been excellent every single time! -100 stars! read more

When installing my new bath tub he asked me questions to make sure that the tub would be installed in such a way along with the tub fixtures to best suit my needs . The other guys that accompanied him were courteous and experienced , knowing exactly what to do . The cost was reasonable and all their work was professionally done . Afterwards they cleaned up their work area leaving me with the feeling that I had made a good choice in D and S Plumbing . Enjoyed the A/C for a couple of weeks, then the weather got really nice and I didn't really need A/C anymore. Then w/ the first cold weather, I find that the heater wasn't working. Thought I could tough it out until next week when the hubby would be off from work to be home for a service call. Saw the weather forecast of 30 degrees in the mornings and decided to leave work early to get the heat fixed. D&S came to my rescue again; was able to come to the house the day that I called. The service technician came EARLY and had the heat going in less than an hour. Even gave me a tip that the cheap thin filters are better than the thicker, more expensive ones. Wow! I just couldn't help but let everyone know how awesome D&S is, I called them out to unplug some clogged drains for me and service my a/c and can I say not only their work is great but their customer service and customer relations... Upon arriving they took every precaution not to dirty my home and no matter if it took booties for their shoes or a laying down tarps in their work area they did it! Our A/C went out late Friday night in the middle of summer. We called D&S early Saturday morning and they were able to squeeze us in. We were given an 11-1 time frame, but our technician called us at 10:30 and let us know he was going to be early. Angel, our technician, was able to diagnose our A/C quickly and had it repaired within two hours! Angel was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the work he does! Great service! Called on late Sunday afternoon and they were out first thing Monday morning and repaired in no time!

I had a well known company come (they had a special) to check my air conditioner, and found a leak in the coil. $2100 for a new one. I called D and S because they were recommended by a friend who raved about their plumbing capabilities, and they gave me an alternative which was to seal the coil. It is guaranteed for a year, and one tenth the price. Hopefully it will last me a few years, and then will replace the whole unit which is now 12 years old. They also charge $14 less a pound for freon than the big company did. They are very efficient and extremely friendly. read more
