I had several bids for a 26x12 outdoor deck off of my house. Not only did Luis come in at the best…read moreprice but he contacted me immediately about the project through my posting on Thumbtack. He was very professional and very honest about his bid. It has been 8 days since he began the project and I couldn't be more pleased. He and his workers have been very user friendly about changes and sharing ideas. Luis has a motto, " I will build it for you as if it was my own!" He has been true to his word even to his own detriment for cost increases when we have changed the project mid-stream. The deck project has grown to a 32x12 deck with a 12x16 roof to cover a spa and an 8x12 section of roof to cover the rest of the deck at the sliding door entrance onto the deck. Luis takes a personal interest in every aspect of the project making suggestions to improve the look and usefulness of the deck. He has been delightful to work with and he has a great stable of workers who are very capable. I have read some of the reviews that others have posted that that have not been favorable but I did my homework and contacted the BBB and other referrals that he gave me and my conclusion is that every poor review was not about Luis but about clients who were dishonest with Luis and tried to take advantage of his kind nature. I can be reached at 415 686 1369. I purchased a beautiful older home which after receiving a recommendation from a trusted friend, and interviewing several other contractors, I hired California Shine Construction to completely remodel the kitchen and bathroom, paint the exterior and interior of the home, refinish existing and install new wood flooring, install recessed lighting, and replace the old wooden roof on the house and detached garage as well as install a flagstone patio. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience of working with California Shine. The price for the project was competitive ( I obtained two other estimates) and the craftsmanship and installation of granite countertops, kitchen cabinets, wooden trim, tile work, appliances and hardware was excellent. Luis Bravo kept me informed on the progress of the work and responded to me promptly when I reached out to him with questions. The job was completed on time, the site was kept clean and the work crew were friendly and seemed to enjoy working with their coworkers and as well as the work they were doing. Over the years I have worked with different contractors on various home remodels and my experience on this project with California shine has been the best. I highly recommend Luis and his team. Thank you California Shine, my house looks beautiful Inside and out.

WBJ's crew members were the best. They were all very polite and respectful. To my surprise demo was thought out and well executed. Although this is my home, it was also a worksite, and was never left "messy". So appreciated. I could not have asked for better people to work with than Katy and Josh. Everything was handled in a professional yet personal manner.

We hired WJB Construction Inc. for a bathroom remodel after finding them on Angie's List, where…read morethey had multiple five-star reviews. We selected them in part because they proposed a creative solution for adding a second bathroom. We signed our contract in May 2024, and the project was completed in April 2025. Following the design and permitting phase, we were informed that the construction portion would take approximately 2-3 weeks. In reality, construction took about 6 weeks, plus an additional 2-3 days for necessary touch-ups and revisions. While we appreciate that WJB ultimately completed the remodel and delivered a finished space, the overall experience was more frustrating than expected. This was largely due to inconsistent communication and gaps in quality control. We had anticipated more in-person guidance with material selection based on our initial discussions, but much of the process was handled via email and text, often requiring re-selection due to availability or fit issues. Communication around scheduling also required frequent follow-up on our end. After some back-and-forth, we were given an anticipated start date about 10 days in advance and told it would be confirmed the Saturday prior. When we did not receive confirmation, we followed up the following Monday and were then given a slightly adjusted start date. Shifts in the project timeline also impacted the payment schedule. (An online payment system or portal would likely improve this process.) Additionally, during the project, a $10,000 check was misplaced, requiring us to stop payment and reissue the check. The construction phase itself experienced multiple delays and ultimately took about twice as long as originally projected. While we understand that some delays are unavoidable/uncontrollable, others may have been mitigated with more proactive supervision and quality control. We do appreciate that WJB addressed some concerns by completing touch-ups promptly after project completion and has offered to make additional corrections if needed.

Initially, my husband and I had no idea what to do with the pergola that was built 30 years ago. The slats were falling apart, the paint was chipping, and the metal was rusting. We were two shakes away from having it torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. HOWEVER, Adam came in and told us that the structure that was already there could be worked with and made to look new again and with better materials - he wasn't kidding! He gave us options for the type of roof to put on, and also told us he could use the existing conduits to put ceiling fans up after we mentioned that was addition we were considering. Their pricing was very fair, the materials they used were great quality, and their communication was fantastic. The project took three and a half days to complete due to an issue that came up with the poor electrical work that was previously in place and needed to be redone the correct way. In the end, it was an AMAZING transformation, and we were more than pleased with the way everything came out. We have full intentions of hiring Avila and Son again when the time comes fortify structurally inept areas of our facia, and in our laundry room. WELL WORTH IT!

G&H did our kitchen 5-6 years ago and we loved it so an easy choice to ask them to do our living…read moreroom update. We did a feature build-out from the wall where an old fireplace had been and wanted to install an electric fireplace with a TV mount just above. We had the build-out done and then picked our granite, which was shiny black base with huge swirls of gold (titanium gold) . Gegham and Harut came out and measured and then had us visit their new shop right off the "41", very convenient. They showed us options for cuts that would feature the gold swirl pattern in a couple ways. We chose our cut options and now it's installed and amazing. The co-owners came out and did the install with great attention to detail, the bookmatching was perfect with the patern wrapping around the sides. The cuts for the TV and fireplace mounts preserved the maximum of the gold pattern on the visible granite, top, bottom and sides. It's just perfect and like with our kitchen work, the guys saved our left-over stone and have already suggested some ideas like a console table or new tops for nesting tables, etc. They did that with our kitchen quartz remainder also. Our living room is now awesome and the guys are easy and fun to work with. When you work with them you feel their confidence and it eases your anxiety about "what will this look like" because they've done it all many times before! We'll use them again for the next stone project for sure!
