Shawarma sandwich (not shawarma)
Stacy L.

Just had the worst gyro that I have ever had. When we got there, the order was not ready, and the guy came from the back and said "oh yeah, forgot to put the order in. When I received my food. My meat was dry and burned. My baklava was the size of 2 postage stamps for 699 and it was still frozen. Very unhappy and I will not come here again. We sat there for 45 minutes waiting for them to prepare our food. The shawarma was NOT shawarma and the kufta was made of unseasoned ground beef. It was so bland. It wasn't like they were super busy. They only had one table of people.

Last night, my sweetheart and I visited Jordan Valley, a delightful Middle Eastern restaurant with? authentic blend of traditional Jordanian dishes and Mediterranean influences before a play. This gem of an eatery has been serving authentic, mouthwatering cuisine since its inception in 2012, quickly becoming a local favorite and a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. However they are planning a move of their location around the end of 2024. It will be moving to 1400 Barrancas Ave right there in Pensacola. The restaurant's name reflects its roots in Amman, Jordan, and provide a genuine Mediterranean dining experience Established by the friendly and welcoming Al-Khader family, Jordan Valley aims to share the flavors and traditions of their homeland with the Pensacola community. The restaurant's warm, inviting atmosphere transports you to a world of rich culture and heritage, with beautifully intricate decor and the tantalizing aromas of exotic spices filling the air. Jordan Valley's menu offers a diverse array of dishes that celebrate the best of Middle Eastern cuisine. To start our meal, we shared the Stuffed Grape Leaves Taziki & Pita, an incredible combination of tender grape leaves filled with seasoned rice and herbs, accompanied by creamy tzatziki sauce and warm, fluffy pita bread. For our main course, my honey chose the Meatball Wrap, a delightful fusion of tender, well-seasoned meatballs wrapped in a warm pita with fresh vegetables and a zesty sauce. I opted for the Chicken Shawarma, a traditional dish featuring tender, marinated chicken served with a flavorful salad, nicely prepared rice, and the most incredible hummus I've ever tasted. In addition to these dishes, Jordan Valley offers a wide selection of vegetarian options, grilled meats, pizzas, and more, ensuring there's something for everyone. Jordan Valley provides an excellent dine-in experience, with attentive service and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant also offers takeout and delivery options, making it easy to enjoy their delectable dishes at home. Bottom line: Our visit to Jordan Valley was a truly fine cinary experience, filled with delicious food, warm hospitality, and an inviting atmosphere plus our guy Ali was terrific and made great recommendations, thanks Ali, and all of this has left us eager to return. If you're looking for an exceptional Middle Eastern dining experience in Pensacola, look no further than Jordan Valley! Highly recommended!!! Jordan Valley is open seven days a week, with the following hours: * Monday to Thursday: 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM * Friday and Saturday: 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM * Sunday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM To learn more about Jordan Valley, explore their menu, or place an order, visit their website at www.jordanvalleyfl.com or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/jordanvalleyfl

Hot tea pot, hookah, gyro, baba ganoush

Emily is the best. Food was great. She handled all the drunk people so gracefully it was such a delight to eat here - she deserves a raise

In this economy it's really hard to find healthy affordable options. I have no problem paying for…read morehealthy food, but what a nice surprise to actually find an affordable gem not too far from where my parents live (and where I am most of the time when I'm not traveling or living abroad as a nomad). I never have a need to get hummus from the grocery store or even make it myself when I'm in Pensacola anymore! The hummus at Chickpea house is so good and super affordable. The menu is super simple. Pita, falafel, fries, hummus, tahini, and a few veggies for salad and to make a sandwich (which is a pita with falafel in it). I would like to say this place is vegan, but since I didn't see it listed anywhere on the menu I'll just say that this place is good for vegetarians for sure. Not gonna lie I love Mediterranean meats and I would love to see kafta or any lamb on the menu. I understand that the simplicity is what makes this non-traditional Palestinian restaurant efficient and fast casual, however! To be honest, the fact that falafel is really the only protein available is probably the only reason why I'm not at this spot once a week while I'm in town. Other than that I highly recommend!

The chickpea nuggets were bland. They could really use some seasoning. I didn't like the tzatziki…read moresauce either it was a bit too sour. The fries were WAY too salty, I could not eat them. The staff could definitely use some work in the hospitality and customer service department. The kiosks in the front seemed impersonal and the staff literally refer you to the kiosk for everything. The interior is nice and clean but weird. The front where you order is disconnected from the eating area. A side of hot sauce is a dollar. Totally not worth a dollar for hot sauce. The sandwich on pita was said to be good. I didn't try it.

Ali Baba Grill Cafe/Istanbul Food Lovers on 550 Mary Esther Cut Off is a Mediterranean restaurant…read moreand it literally has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I ordered a pickup plate and I was blown away by the service. 1. They offer military discount! 2. They offered me some tea and a Turkish coffee complimentary during my wait! 3. They were kind enough to gift me a dessert! I was blown away by the generosity and the kindness of the associate. The inside is also very nice, lots of space for tables and lots of room for a family style meal. The food prices have increased a lot since the uploaded menu photos like on Google!!!! It's pretty pricey, but huge portions! I ordered a Shrimp Kabob Plate and subbed one of the kabobs for chicken. I also ordered an extra side of Tahini (not tzatziki) sauce. I will say the portion of the protein was not as much as I would like on first glance, but it was A LOT OF FOOD! The portion of the entire plate itself was huge. Two cups of rice, two salads, one huge pita, the meat proteins and one tzatziki sauce. I loved the pickled onions on the salad, so flavorful and delicious! Unfortunately, I was accidentally given two tzatziki sauces instead of an extra tahini, but accidents happen! No problem! I just LOVE garlic, so I felt like the flavors I was desiring was missing? Again, I love garlic lol. I think that the bread, when it came out was warm... got stale really fast? There were only 3 chicken pieces, but they were HUGE! I just think I need to explore more sauce options, because I felt like something was missing. But I still ate a TON and was satisfied after. I was really blown away by the customer service there. The associate, I'm not sure if he was the owner or not, but was extremely generous and kind! He was super friendly, had a smile on his face, and the small goodies really blew me away and made my day better. Thank you!

What a great night for a Yelp Elite Event! The weather was great, and the food was even better!…read moreWe were just listening to my wife's mother and father sing Greek's Food Truck's praises a couple of weekends ago. We were in Brewton for a charity event and we went by Helen's parent's house to say hi and they had just picked up two Greek salads from their location in Pace when they were headed home from Pensacola. Their comments were so amazing that we decided to go home the way that takes us through Pace just to try this food! They were not open or even there, it was a Sunday morning after all. They usually are at the Badcock Furniture Store South of 5 points on Woodbine, but no truck was to be found. The next day or two I get a message from our Community Manager; Maddie that this event was about to go down. Perfect! We arrived to see a handful of people milling about and a line was beginning to form at the order window. We waited our turn and watched two very kind employees, (owners?) Help each person. One working the order window and the other working the pick up one. They were fast and efficient, moving skillfully inside the food truck. Our order was taken with the same efficiency, and we moved to the pickup window area. There were probably 4 to five orders before us but in 5 minutes or so our food was ready to pick up. I ordered my usual; a lamb Gyro and Helen wanted a Greek salad with shrimp. Both were delicious! Nice touch of putting the hot shrimp inside a foil pouch to keep the heat from wilting salad! The gyro was packed with yummy lamb meat, tzatziki, and a feta sauce. Yum! It was as good as any I have ever had! And it does not appear that they use those strange prefabbed shoe insert shaped frozen gyro meat that I can't stand. I did not see a doner inside the truck but it's huge and there easily could be one, or more inside. I say this is as good an option as you can have in Pensacola for Greek food. Give it a try! I am going to be back for more in the future. I will see you there! Thanks to Greek's and to Yelp for putting on the event! I appreciate you both!
