I drive all over the state for work and eat at a lot of home cooking places. This is one of the best I've found, and one of the top two fried pork chops I've eaten in any restaurant. The batter is very tasty and is the same on the chicken. It's a buffet which matters to some but not me. Creamed corn was also delicious, as were the collards. Tea was sweet but not belly-achingly so. I travel this route pretty often and this place just jumped to the top of the list. read more

Never had a bad meal here! This is southern cooking at its finest. They are opened for lunch Monday thru Sat. And bring your appetite. The dine in is cafeteria style and that may not be for some people but doesn't bother me. You can also get your order to go or call it in and it will be waiting when you arrive... I'm an 18 year old College student and I live in West Palm Beach, Fl. My Father lives in Jesup, Ga. Everytime I go to his house, I have to go to Jones Kitchen. I never Experienced a down home southern buffet like it. My first time going there, I was 9 and in the 4th grade. We went to Sybils Family Resturant first and it was Friday (seafood night). The food was salty, they charged you for refils on drinks and everybody is seperate from eachother. So I was mad. The next day we went to Jones Kitchen for brunch. I was like this place is too country It had like tables pushed together. and a lot of old people there. I went over to pick a drink and the lady giving the drinks out said to me ''Hello, How are you today? what will you have to drink?" I said iced tea. She said "Okay heres the pitcher of tea and enjoy yourself" I went over to my table and put my drink down and went to eat. I wasn't the veggies type at 9 so I went straight to the meats and mac&cheese. I sat down next to an older couple. The lady next to me was talking to me the whole time I was there. But I wasn't paying attention, I was focused on the mac&cheese and fried chicken. The chicken was sooo good and the mac&cheese was sooo moist. So everytime I visit my dad, I make sure I go to Jones Kitchen. Very good atmosphere to be in. Nice people, very good food, and at the best price. Golden Corral don't have nothing on Jones Kitchen. My husband and I visited Jesup, GA in 2003 and 2004. Our hosts took us to Jones Kitchen for some of the best food we ever ate. I had grown up on Southern food. We retired and moved to the area in 2005 and have been eating there about 1 or 2 X a month ever since, more than 11 years. My husband grew up in Chicago with access to all kinds of food. His preference over all is Jones! The quality is always excellent. The price is slightly higher than in 2005 but is still very reasonable for us Seniors. We love it !! read more

I love Southern food, and Jones Kitchen is the star of home style cooking. Lunchtime buffet was a little crowded on a Friday, as expected, but the attendant helped us find seating for two at one of the long communal tables. Had the best fried chicken I've ever had, but the fried catfish was even better. Salads and vegetables were all homestyle favorites cooked the way my grandma would have cooked them, if she was southern. Coleslaw and carrot salads were sweet and tangy. Sweet potatoes, pole beans, black-eyed peas, rutabaga, and collard greens were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection - nut mushy. I only had room for sweet potato pie, which was an excellent choice - but I helped myself to the strawberry shortcake too. My husband loved the sweet potato pie - nice and sweet with a little something extra - maybe molasses? In Savannah, I prefer Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House to Lady & Sons. Jones Kitchen stole my heart today and is my new favorite over Mrs. Wilkes. read more
