My 8 year old daughter was being teased about not being able to say her R's. Adults and children…read morealike would mimic her speech and a rude child on the soccer field pointed out the irony that her name had R's in it but she couldn't say them. Her name begins and ends with R, and she began to avoid saying her name when introducing herself or when people would ask her name. This broke my heart and solidified the need to seek speech therapy. She began therapy in February 2024 with Mikayla, and by October/November she had made drastic improvements in the ability to say R's but the habit of saying R sounds the old way was hard to break. It is now January 2025 and our insurance has changed so she is no longer able to attend therapy, but I am so happy to report that she has now mostly broken the habit of saying R's the old way all on her own without reminders, and most importantly can confidently say her own name. I also want to thank Karen for her diligence in working with my insurance company getting the claims paid. Without her extra work getting sessions covered we would not have been able to afford services. I am so grateful to Let's Talk Speech & Language Therapy for helping my daughter.

My son has a severe speech delay and since starting with Ms. Alyssa he has improved every session, he knows to guide us to what he wants, communicates with his AAC device and also can say around 10 words and sounds! Which for an autism parent, you know how big that is. Everyone i've met at Thrive have been a god send and now Ms. Joy will take over services for my sons younger brother. When my son was 3 years old, I brought him to Chatterbox since he was no longer developing verbally. In fact, he had regressed badly in preschool, and was largely not verbal there during the day. We later had him diagnosed with autism (ASD), and were able to pursue other services, but at the time, all we had was Chatterbox. After the initial intake with Courtney, he was accepted as a patient, and we got on the schedule pretty quickly. I don't believe it is this available or open normally, so I guess we got lucky. We set goals and we were coming to Chatterbox for 30 minute sessions (really 25 minutes) twice a week. We worked on some basic things, but given the later ASD diagnosis, we did what we could here. The end result was that after almost a year, he was verbal again and we met some of our goals. I didn't mind continuing with Chatterbox, but by that point, my son's needs were greater in other areas, so most of his time afterschool was allocated to behavior therapy instead. All in all, we are very thankful for the services that Chatterbox provided. Eternally grateful for the services delivered by Marina, Denny, Amanda, and Jenn. Also thankful to Priscilla for being great to work with from a scheduling and administrative perspective. Anyone who comes here will know right away that the parking lot is comical. The entrance on Cherry actually features bi-directional traffic, even though it's only wide enough for a single vehicle. If I do manage to get in this way, I'll do a quick pass through the lot, and if no spots, I'll make a right in the alleyway and another right on Reagan St., then another right back onto Katella, where there is usually street parking in front of the dentist.

Highly recommend them! He saw Melissa M. once and she was amazing too. When Regional Center stopped paying for his speech therapy due to aging out, my husband and I paid out of pocket. I would pay via Venmo. When it got too expensive, I decided to stop services as he was already going to preschool and getting speech therapy there. I received a phone call from billing assistant Jennifer that I owed for three service dates, which was fine. So I paid via credit card. She claimed I didn't pay for some of the dates and that they never received payment from Venmo, but I was happy to provide proof. She asked me to text it to their phone number which was their main line. Okay, I texted all the screenshots. FOUR months has gone by and I receive a phone call from her that they never received the proof. She applied the credit card payment to a date that I had already paid through Venmo. I'm trying to call and email her to get this resolved- no answer. I called the Los Alamitos office multiple times and even asked to speak to the billing manager. The front desk told me the number that Jennifer wanted me to text the info. to was the landline and they can't get texts.... uhm okay.... so I asked for an alternative number so they can forward the information to the billing manager Sarah. I even screenshot my bank account activity, Venmo activity, and a typed Word document of services dates + payment dates. Finally I received a phone call from Sarah that it was entered incorrectly and the balance is $0. It's crazy how I had to take initiative and multiple attempts to get this resolved. If they didn't forward the info to Sarah, it may still go on and on! Please fire or move Jennifer to a different role as she is obviously incapable of this job.

Seriously, if you're reading this, please be the best advocate for your child - because no one knows your child better than the parent ! (or in my case, Harbor Regional). My son was only here for a little over 3 months but has made such significant progress !!! I can confidently say he has made more progress here than he did other Speech Therapy services as Supernova is run by people that genuinely care about their clients !! When I made my very first call to Supernova, I called one of the co owners, Kathy who was great. I could already tell a difference with the level of care (just over a phone call!!) than other Speech Therapy services I have dealt with. She was able to schedule my son in (very last minute I might add!) & get him on the calendar for one hour weekly sessions. This later was bumped up to twice a week, because Kathy was an awesome advocate & was able to get my son in 2x a week & sometimes more towards the end (through Supernova we had to go through Harbor Regional where the amount of sessions had to be approved.) I was so impressed by this & I didn't know that this could have been done. During our time here, my son has seen Kathy, Judy, Amanda, Maddy, Neriann & Amanda. I personally requested Kathy for the majority of the scheduled sessions (& made sure Kathy knew herself) as my son made the most progress with her. The way she teaches is a bit on the holistic side, with firm + fun combined. It's not all playtime, but progress through play. During each scheduled session, Kathy always took notes on my son progress. At the end of each session she gives the parent homework which helped me help my son even more. I also loved how Kathy is always just a text away if I ever had any questions. During the evaluation (first session), my son was dis regulated & completely non verbal. The very last session, my son now says no with meaning, & his attention span is so so much better than day 1. Every session was meaningful with Kathy. My son made improvement, & never took a step backward in his goals. He has a long way to go still, but the amount of progress he has made in such a short amount of time is really impressive. If you're new to Speech Therapy, do know that not every SLP has the same style of teaching. With that said, not every child will like every SLP or have a good response. & that's ok !! I was able to communicate this with Kathy that my son was not progressing to one of the therapists teaching styles & she took my feedback well. It's not easy hearing the truth, but I really appreciated how Kathy took my feedback with dignity. I highly recommend speech therapy to anyone looking for a SLP for their son/daughte. I wish I found out about this place sooner but happy I was able to get my son the services he needed in such a short amount of time.

I did not have a…read moregood experience with the speech therapist who was assigned to treat my daughter for the following reasons: 1. The speech therapist was constantly late to my daughter's appointments, but always left right on time. I got so tired of this that I reached out to our care coordinator at the regional center. Only then did she start showing up on time. 2. The therapy is play based, but it seemed like the speech therapist always showed up with the same toys. If you're using the toys to introduce new words then shouldn't you switch it up a little bit? Wouldn't that help my daughter's vocabulary grow? I again had to contact our care coordinator for assistance. 3. It was raining one day and I got a text from the speech therapist saying that she didn't want her toys to get wet, so they would just use my daughter's toys. This honestly made me laugh because she used a suitcase that zipped all the way around to transport her toys. 4. The speech therapist, a single woman with no children in her early twenties, would often try to give me parenting advice. It was always unsolicited. I certainly wouldn't go to someone like her for advice on how to raise my child. 5. The speech therapist would often refer to my daughter as "Bud"...I am actually still trying to figure this one out. It made absolutely no sense. Who still uses that word and don't you know her real name? I finally asked for a different provider and my daughter was cleared shortly thereafter. The only advice that I have for other mothers is to listen to your intuition. If it feels like someone assigned to treat your child just isn't the right fit then don't wait as long as I did.

My granddaughter has attended the summer social camp at Advanced Pragmatics Speech Pathology for…read moreseveral years, and it has been such a wonderful experience for her. The camp has helped her continue to build her confidence and social skills, interact with new people, and develop lasting friendships. This summer, she moved up to the high school group and especially enjoyed the field trips, including visiting the aquarium and learning how to make pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. These outings give the kids a fun opportunity to practice and use their social skills in real-world settings. Brenna also plans special activities throughout the year, including bowling, a Winter Dance, and a holiday party. She ends the summer camp with a family picnic for the kids and their families, which is always a nice way to bring everyone together. Under Brenna's leadership, my granddaughter has become more comfortable advocating for herself, starting conversations with people she doesn't know, and expressing herself with confidence. Brenna truly cares about the children and teens she works with and creates an environment where they feel safe, supported, and accepted for who they are.
