Bought a "quart of freeze dried eggs" that they advertised as being the equivalent of 72 eggs on…read moretheir website. Received the bag and it appeared small so I weighed it and it was 6.6 ounces (187 grams). And that's WITH the mylar bag. Hmm... one freeze dried egg weighs approximately 0.5 ounces or 14 grams. This approximately matches the nutritional content of an egg which is 7 grams of protein, 6 grams of fat, and 0.5 grams of carbs when you take out all the water. So each pouch was actually 12 eggs, not 72. When I contacted them to ask about this discrepancy, they didn't apologize or admit that they made any mistake or had incorrect information on their site. They just said matter-of-factly that I could send the items back for a partial refund (i.e. they wouldn't reimburse me for shipping). Really? Not cool.

They have a ton of vegan items, and that's what I'm all about. BUT.. my only question.. why is everything expired? When I say everything, I mean everything I bought. I got home, and found that all my purchases (mainly frozen ones) were over due - even as old as Jan 2018. Did I miss something? Is that how the Co-op is? Since a majority of what I purchased was frozen, I felt better about it.. but I'm confused. Maybe I'm 100% clueless on co-ops! (If I am, please tell me. ) I bought a vegan cream cheese, Miyoko's: one that I've been looking all over SLC for. I spent $10 for it (Trader Joe's sells one of theirs for 5.49), and I got home to find out it was a month expired. This was not a frozen item, so I feel more sketchy about it. This was the one I was most upset about. $10 for something a month expired (specifically over due on 10/21). I'm having mixed feelings, because I find that this place is so super cute, and has so much to offer SLC, and communities where the Co-op donates time and money. But... I just don't want all of my non-frozen purchases to be expired. Did I miss something? This place would have easily been a 5/5 for me. But based on this... I'm feeling more 3-4/5. I'm just... confused!

Lots of homes being built and this particular location doesn't seem too busy yet. In fact, the parking lot was pretty empty and the store itself wasn't crowded at all. Really bummed we missed their Easter activity! Anyway, the aisles are spacious and clean. The shelves are well stocked with a variety of items. Happy to have found a few of my favorite things here!

I think I bought the last one on the shelf yesterday-sorry about that. Hopefully they get a new shipment soon. I love local businesses and I'm glad to see that this small store found a home in Herriman. It isn't the vast "super center" that many of us are used to shopping in, but they do carry the necessities. I love the vibe here (can a grocery store have a 'vibe'?) and I don't feel stressed or rushed when I'm browsing the aisles, appreciating the cool things I find here that I might not find elsewhere.

Great Middle Eastern market! How about 4.8 stars?…read more I'm taking off 0.2 stars off of a perfect score only for a nitpick observation that lighting in the store could be better. Lots of authentic middle eastern groceries. Got some Aleppo chili peppers which is not available anywhere. Also got some Turkish yogurt. Got some real lavash, which was actually thin lavash. Great for shwarma and wraps. Got some orange blossom ice cream. Delicious! Tried middle eastern brand of orange soda. Refreshing! I had to exercise self-discipline and not buy some authentic Turkish delights. Will get them the next time. The owner lady was very friendly and helpful. Look for them on the corner of the lower level of an apartment building. Absolutely worth the visit. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Very disappointing experience…read more I stopped in because I'm Middle Eastern myself and was hoping to find a local place where I could regularly shop for Middle Eastern groceries. Instead, I left without buying a thing. The woman working there, who I believe may be the owner, had an incredibly cold and dismissive attitude. Every time I asked her a question, she would stare at me for several seconds with this puzzled, almost irritated expression, as though I had asked something completely unreasonable. Then she'd give me a short answer while already turning away or walking off. I was genuinely confused by the interaction. I couldn't tell whether she was annoyed that I was asking questions, unfamiliar with the customers she was serving, or simply didn't want to be bothered. What made it especially strange was the complete lack of warmth. Middle Eastern hospitality is usually the kind of thing you notice immediately, and this felt like the exact opposite. I wasn't expecting a red carpet or a three-course meal. I was simply trying to introduce myself, ask a few questions, and hopefully become a regular customer. I actually called afterward to explain why I left without purchasing anything. If making customers feel unwelcome is the business strategy, it certainly worked on me. If you're looking for a welcoming, old-world Middle Eastern shopping experience, this isn't it.

They have a good selection of spices, rice, ghee, beans, tahini, and Indian snack food. They have a refrigerated/frozen section with paneer and some meat, and a small amount of beauty products as well. Prices are reasonable, and if you do buy spices they are sold by the bag, so as long as you'll use it all they are a great deal. Most of the time it is the same guy at the cash register who helps me and he is really friendly, but yesterday I visited and there was no one out front, although I could hear people working in the back. A man came out and looked at me, but didn't say anything, and went right back to the stock room. I was actually looking for a specific spice, but ended up leaving empty handed because I couldn't find it (that's another thing, their organization is a bit haphazard, especially when it comes to the spices). This is the first time that's happened, but it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. I have no doubt I'll be back, but most likely I'll check other stores first in the future. Oh, and just a note, it is a small store, and on the weekends it can get packed. There is only one cash register, so if you see a lot of cars in the lot I'd come back, otherwise you might wait 15 or 20 minutes to check out.
