I was looking for a unique gift idea for several people, and didn't want the traditional cookies or treats. I was browsing through some Yelp suggestions and landed on Redstone Olive Oil. Close to where I would be running some errands, so I stopped in. The store is located in the strip mall of the Draper Peaks Shopping center. Lots of great places around-and perfectly paired with neighbor, Great Harvest Bread. I can't imagine that it was by accident that they landed next door to each other. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly and offered assistance. I told the gentleman that I was looking for gifts and was open to suggestions. He gave me a few recommendations, and I ultimately went with a flavored olive oil and vinegar combination. There were so many choices-I would love to come back and try them all, but I was there on a mission, not there to meander. Another day, perhaps. In addition to olive oils, there were also some interesting spices and some body products made from olive oil. I'm glad I stumbled across Redstone, and will be back when I'm ready to try a few new flavors, or get some more gifts. read more

These are fantastic. There is so much to choose from it was hard to just settle on buying only two. The balsamic vinegars were absolutely amazing and next time I go, I will be buying more of those. A cool shop that I didn't know had existed when I saw a small sign near Great Harvest. I called to ask for directions and the lady hung up on me. Once I came in the lady made is sound like I was interrupting her. Maybe she had a bad day and didn't make it very fun for me. I wanted to try some oil samples but she had no bread, and it is kind gross to drink olive oil in a cup. Prices are kinda high and it is hard to judge the quality of their olive oil so I went safe and got some smaller bottles (dill, garlic, and Tuscan herb). They also had a sample of black truffle sea salt and that was excellent! It cost I think $20 for the small container. Very pricey but so delicious and that made my whole trip worth it. Hope that owner lady has a better day as I want to go back again. read more

My hubby loves olive oil so we checked out this store. It was just okay. Most of the oils are flavored, which most real olive oil aficionados will know means that the basic oil is very low quality. There are a few pure varieties, but none are that great. The prices are high too, and they refused to honor a Yelp check-in deal. I showed the employee and told him twice that I had the deal, but he said he wasn't aware of it and declined to give us a discount. This makes me super angry, and it earns them a one star rating. I shouldn't have to argue with a business if they choose to offer a check-in deal on Yelp. I won't be back. read more

The atmosphere when I first walked into Redstone was stimulating, my senses enticed by the classy displays, upbeat music and extensive selection. I didn't get far into the store before I was greeted by a big smiling Marci and a bright, "Good Morning." She immediately won me over with her effervescence. She quickly began showing me around the store and introducing me to a wide selection of high quality oils. Naturally, I was a bit skeptical about paying a premium price, but she helped me understand the value of quality. I felt at ease to ask questions and explore the store. She knew the answer to everything and pushed me to experiment with new oils and vinegars and was full of cooking suggestions/pairings. Walking out of the store, after buying way more then planned and a ticket to the St Patrick event, I felt inspired to cook and eat higher quality ingredients.
