I wasn't crying or anything, but the cashier looked at me and could sense something wrong...and asked. I shared briefly about saying goodbye to a friend at her funeral. Cut to the chase, he gave me a bouquet of flowers and a hug... wishing me a better day, and that he knew how I felt. Yes, I was crying at that, but SO grateful at this unexpected kindness. One of their best features is the Starbucks inside the store, with several tables where we drink coffee or eat breakfast or lunch. The pharmacy is also good and nearly never has a waiting line. The pharmacy prices are not quite as low as Walmart's. The food prices are 30% to 50% higher than Walmart's. The staff at this Macey's are all nice and helpful, too.
