Although he is still in the business he suggested I call the new owner of Ship Shade. When I did I was told they are not responsible for the business they inherited and any warranty issues related to those previous contracts. So, if you bought something from Ship Shade prior to the change of ownership two years ago, good luck! That's an interesting response Jodi considering when we spoke on the phone anything relative to the assistance relative to the warranty, as noted in your response was not discussed, You said you'd charge me for a service call and evaluate and determine next steps. Awning began to fall apart after a few years, so I called Dan to get it fixed under warranty. Dan responds after several attempts with a quote 20% plus more than the original quote to replace awning cover. I asked what about the warranty. Dan says that was only for the material and materials have gone up. It turns out these guys have scammed many customers using cheap chin ease knock off fabric and vinyl, which they told me was Sunbrella, a blatant lie, they are known all over the industry down here for scamming customers with a bullshit 10 year warranty using this crap material they represent as genuine Sunbrella, this is Fraud as I understand it, Do NOT do business with them, and run away as quickly as you can from these crooks.
