Took my car in for inspection and they damaged it. When they placed my car on their lift, they failed to properly shim the lift arm ends so that the contact points of the arms lifted in the appropriate places UNDER the car and the arms of the lift crushed the side skirts of the car. While it appears minor, this is basically a new car with less than 20k miles on it. I brought it back and explained it to the manager/owner, not sure who he was. He seemed uninterested and completely ignored the damage on the passenger side. Said he would "look at the video". Well unless they have pretty good video in that shop that can zoom into that area, the video will be useless. I haven't heard back from him yet. read more

TERRIBLE Customer Service!! I scheduled an appointment a week out for an oil change and an inspection. When I dropped my vehicle off for my "appointment", I was told they don't take appointments for inspection and that it was on a first come first serve basis. So of course I left my vehicle since I had an "appointment" for an oil change and figured they would work with me on the inspection. I then called end of day since I hadn't heard from anyone and was told my vehicle was not ready (no oil change/inspection). Now mind you, I had informed them at the 8am drop off that I would need my vehicle end-of-day as it was my only ride home. I also told the lady on the phone that I would drop my vehicle back off in the morning since I work up the road. The next morning I'm at the door at 7:45am waiting for them again to open at 8am. I go to leave the keys and the lady says WILL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO. And then tells me that I'm at the back of the line AGAIN since I drove my vehicle home the night before. That's right, my vehicle sat there ALL day on Monday and when I returned the following morning before they opened, I was once again at the back of the "first come first serve" line for inspections. I was absolutely dumbfounded by this thought process. Long story short, I left my vehicle again that morning hoping they would see the LIGHT and take care of a REPEAT CUSTOMER. To no surprise, my vehicle once again sat ALL DAY for the second day in a row. NO PHONE CALL, NO FOLLOW, NO INSPECTION, NO OIL CHANGE. Oh and even though I had a appointment for an oil change, this was NEVER COMPLETED!!! What's the point of making an appointment if YOUR NOT GOING TO HONOR what you AGREED too? This has got to be the most inefficient auto repair shop I have ever dealt with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS BUSINESS, ITS NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION NOR THE ADDED EXPENSE!!! This is a review on Facebook from Mark Belew :Well, I went to pick up my truck today after dropping it off at Jones Automotive for an inspection. I stopped by today and they did repairs on my vehicle without even contacting me to discuss any repairs and tried to bill me "about $150". When I asked why they did work without my permission, they just said they were "trying to save me money". Then, above all, they are keeping my vehicle another day to remove the parts they put on without authorizing the repairs. I paid my $16 and called the Virginia State Police. I hate to blast a local business, but I'd hate for anyone to take a vehicle there. read more

I have a Hyundai Genesis 2009.  One day while driving, suddenly my car slowed down to a crawl. Luckily the road was empty at that time, I was able to pull my car over to the side road and called a friend for help. The warning light disappeared before I got the chance to bring it to a Hyundai dealer. I thought it was just a hiccup. Two weeks later, while driving interstate, my car suddenly shut down again to almost barely moving with a truck bearing down behind me. I was able to pull my car quickly to the small patch of grass beside the road before the truck ran me over, thought I would have a heart attack with the car erratic dangerous behavior. I called Hyundai Corporate, they opened a case for me and called a Hyundai Dealer in the area to get an appointment for my car. However, they could not get through. I took the case number and called two Hyundai Dealers myself but could not get anyone on the phone nor anyone bothering to return my calls. I was frustrated and desperate because my car was not safe to drive. A friend suggested Jones Automotive. I was skeptical because I read on the web about this exactly same problems with other Genesis owners and the problem seemed unresolved by Hyundai Dealers. Let me tell you, I was so happy I did bring my car to Jones Automotive. Apparently, with all the diagnosis tools in the dealerships, it cannot compete with the knowledgeable mechanic team at Jone Automotive Jone Automotive not only fixed my car problem, but also upgraded the software to avoid this problem in the future. Even without asking, the team also found a sensor that caused my TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) always on. I brought my car to the Hyundai dealers several times in the past to get this fix but the warning light was always came back after a couple of days or at most a week. Two months now and the TPMS light still not show its ugly face. My car is now running smoothly. I'm no longer afraid driving my car on highway. The best part is the repair cost. It was very reasonable, much lower than the typical Hyundai dealer's cost.   I recommend Jone Automotive whole heartedly. We took our car in for an inspection. Because we didn't tell them they could just automatically fix anything under $50, (there was 1 thing, a sticker on the 3rd brake light) that was going to fail the inspection, they put our car back at the end of the line of inspections. They didn't bother calling us to let us know, they just started and stopped the inspection. When my husband called asking if it was ready, they told him what the problem was and that for $10 they would pull the sticker off the 3rd brake light and probably wouldn't be able to get to our car today now. They said they do inspections on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. We took our car and dropped it off the night before. There was only one other car in the parking lot when we left it. All they had to do was call in the morning when they started the inspection and saw that they sticker needed to be pulled off and we would've told them to do it. I guess since we wouldn't just let them charge us without notifying us first, that was what put us at the end of the line. Horrible customer service!! read more

i took it to get oil change and then to fix my charging part and they did the oil change but did not fix my charger part for my car so I could use it to charge things in my car . so you now have charged me for looking at it and didn't tell me nothing about what it could be or even try to fix it . My husband and I took two cars here, as one needed an inspection and the other had a check engine light on. On their envelopes there is a call with estimate before repair. We checked YES for both vehicles but did not receive calls until after the work was already completed. We found out from our dealership that one of the cars was covered under warranty/recall so we could have it repaired for free there. I asked Bunny to remove the parts that were installed but when I came into resolve the issues, his customer service was extremely poor. We paid for the car with the inspection in full, even though some of the repairs weren't necessary. The other car I said I would not pay for since it would be covered for free. He told me, "that's why I have the diagnostic charge for people like you that have us repair and then take the parts off." I reminded him we did not authorize the repairs on EITHER vehicle. He refused to give me my keys until I paid for the diagnostic. I'm not going to court for $38 but I would NEVER recommend Bunny or this repair shop. Illegal practices and terrible service. read more

How can I put it. Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad service!! My car wouldn't start in the adjoining parking lot of the Jones Automotive in Crofton Plaza in Palmyra VA. I walked in just as they opened their door asking if one of the technicians could walk next door and see if my battery cable was loose as I'd just had a new battery installed a few days earlier. The guy said no I'd have to get my car towed to them. I explained it was just parked in the adjoining business but he said nope!! Never, ever would I recommend anyone to them!! read more

I've taken my older, second car to Jones four or five times for both maintenance and repair issues. I've always gotten excellent service was treated courteously. Their facility is modest but clean and functional. When I've talked with the guy doing the service, he's always been knowledgable and helpful. By all indications, they are a quality independent service provider. read more
