Before treatment, the office told us that our insurance wouldn't cover much and asked us to put down a large upfront payment. Later, when we received our benefits statement, we learned that we actually only owed about 20% of what they'd asked us to pay. When we contacted the office to request a refund of the overpayment, they claimed they had not yet received the insurance payment. This was especially frustrating because, according to the insurance company, the payment had already been processed and they had cashed it within four days of the claim being disclosed. Based on my experience, I feel the office was not transparent or honest about the insurance and payment situation, and dealing with them has been one of the most unpleasant medical office experiences I've had. If you have other options, I would strongly recommend staying away from this practice because of the way the office handles billing and communication, even though the dentist himself seems fine.

Oh, my goodness!…read more Sure, he sounds like a Bond Villain, and any villainy ends with his name. (I couldn't decide between those two tag lines.) I needed to have a tooth pulled and an implant installed. That seemed both simple and potentially painful. I chose Dr. Oh because my dentist told me to, and I am very grateful for that recommendation. It took less than an hour between me walking in and leaving with all the work completed. During the procedure, there was absolutely no pain and almost no discomfort. The dentist worked slowly and carefully to extract my tooth. That is in sharp contrast from my last and only other extraction that was done by a big Swedish oral surgeon in DC who used, among other tools, a hammer and chisel. The office is clean and open. Their building has plenty of covered parking around back. The only problem is the buildings are out of order, and Dr. Oh's is set back from the street. Look for large signs along Maple Ave to direct you where to turn in. I can't imagine I'll ever look forward to having another tooth pulled. However, if I ever need to, I'm going back to Dr. Oh to have it done.

Recently, the abutment for an old tooth implant came loose, and I went to see a dentist closer to home in California because traveling was risky during COVID lockdown. This dentist and her oral surgeon advised that we would have to take out the whole implant, which I was hesitant to do, since oral surgery is no small task. I knew I had to contact Dr. Rudolph for a second opinion. He made himself available over phone and email to discuss the situation, and ultimately I felt it would be worth the trip to Virginia to have him take care of it. It's clear Dr. Rudolph truly cares about his patients and is meticulous in his approach, which is why I trust him more than any other dentist or doctor I've seen. He did manage to save my implant, and I am grateful to him for protecting my dental health without subjecting me to unnecessary procedures.
