After searching and searching I found this practice and Dr. Peter Laplace through word of mouth. I am ever so glad that I did. Staff here is so friendly and helpful. I am never confused about any of the policies or billing. Appointments are easy to schedule and they even have an online patient portal for you to view your records and care plans. Having struggled for several years with a few chronic issues I am finally at a place in my physical and mental health where I'm not just getting by but am happy and on a road to healthy. This is all credited to Dr. Laplace. He listened to my issues and concerns and guided me to the best recovery path. No throwing meds at me and moving on to the next patient! We thoroughly went over the short term and long term goals and plans. Healthcare is a vital part of life and having a doctor who listens and cares is paramount to receiving the best Healthcare. I was told that for this Doc (unlike others in the practice that you can just schedule with) you needed to speak to her "nurse" first to discuss your concerns. Um. OK. Left my number for the "gatekeeper" to call me back. Three days later (after receiving no call), I called to check in. I was told that the nurse/gatekeeper was gone for the day. But was also told she called me according to the notes? Um. No. I have no missed calls on my phone, and seriously if she really had called, why didn't she leave a voicemail? No missed call. No voicemail. A week later I called back (stupid me, but I was really impressed with this docs reviews and credentials), explained that I have never gotten a call from the "gatekeeper" and the awesome receptionist (I forget her name - she works for the whole practice and is so sweet and amazing!) got her on the phone with me. And here we go. Said gatekeeper picked up the phone and immediately went in with - "I called you!" I explained that I had no missed calls (keep in mind I was not being nasty - my whole career is in CS so I know better) and no missed messages. She then literally said, "so what is your problem?" Um OK. I explained that I was looking for a new PCP since mine had retired. I also wanted to explore HRT because I was never sure about it, but wanted to talk to a new doc that might understand. What did I this Bish say to me??? Well, it's normal, you just have to deal with it. Oh, and she was supposed to talk to the Doc about scheduling me. She was going to call me back. That was the end of Nov. 2025. Here we are 1/6/26. Still no call. This might be the most amazing doctor in the US. But we will never know thanks to her condescending, not following up "nurse/gatekeeper."

Anyhow, after searching high and low for a new PCP in this area, and waiting months - after a terrible experience with Sentara - I booked with the NP Geeta. She was awesome!! She asked all the right questions and made suggestions that I would have expected from my previous PCP who had for 15+ years. She made me feel very comfortable. The building itself was new, clean and the staff was extremely courteous. I also did not wait long, actually they called me in about 10 minutes before my appt time since I was already there.

I'm a younger girl I get it, but i have issues that I go to, to get addressed and all he says is "your healthy". he doesn't provide any care or concern. he prescribes random shit he knows won't help, and has the most demeaning tone. on top of this, he says I need to "let the professionals" handle it - when I tell him about my stomach pain. what doctor says that to a patient? either way this doctor is unprofessional. do not go to him if you have actual medical concerns . On another note - I called to switch providers (I didn't know you couldnt do that apparently) and a month later, the day before my new appointment they tell me they have to cancel it and now I have to find a new clinic if I want to switch people because they don't allow transfer of providers. this should of been addressed when I first booked the new appt. but they obviously don't care about people's time or health .
