While I am very happy with the jacket I purchased, my experience with Espace MixMix was not acceptable. I purchased a Rudsak jacket from them, provided my personal phone number and email, as well as my credit details. The order was processed and I received an order confirmation shorty after--all pretty standard protocol. An hour later I receive a string of emails to my work address from other employees in the company office in Ottawa (I am in Toronto), telling me that someone called the front desk and call centre looking for me to confirm a jacket order. This phone number is used to report emergency problems within the company, and calling it jams up the lines, not to mention is a huge invasion of privacy. On top of this, I am in a contract position that is up for renewal, and having personal phone calls and email exchanges on business time is not only incredibly embarrassing, but jeopardizes the continuation of my job. I contacted the Montreal store, where the manager (who was extremely nice and helpful) investigated and found out that an employee got my work info off of LinkedIn (not sure how he was certain this was even the right person), and contacted my employer. This phone number is not even listed on LinkedIn, so he must have looked into it even further. Still, somehow, he called an office in a different city, and shared personal information with them regarding my purchase. I have never, and would never give permission for them to do this. The store manager was at a loss for words at how this could have happened, ensured they would look into it, and forwarded me to the online manager. In my correspondence with online manager Neil Bragg, he was completely unprofessional, brushed off my concerns, and was dismissive in his responses. His response to my email politely explaining my concerns was to re-send my order confirmation, and when i said this did not address my concerns, he sent back "no probs". He hasn't so much as offered an apology, or to rectify this for me. He continues to insist "we're not the bad guys here", that they are just protecting me from credit card fraud, and that many stores do this. I am protected from fraud from my bank, I have made many large purchases online, and this has never happened before. Ultimately, he refused to forward me to the president of the company (I emailed and called to no avail), so I have been forced to write this review to let others know about my experience.

The shoes that DID manage to capture my attention, white Zespas, had a differing price point from another retailer that I knew to carry them. The price at Tozzi was somewhat higher (by 100$). I voiced this matter to the employee, and he said that if that was truly the case with the other retailer, that he would match that price easily. And true to his word, he did lower the price to match the other. I appreciated the act and was impressed by the customer service that he delivered. They truly do aim to please their clients. The ONLY concern that I had with my experience was the excess attention given to me. As a client, I like to breathe and think of my options, so I would have appreciated just a little more space from the employee. I don't particularly enjoy feeling obliged to buy, even though I truly wanted the shoes. Nevertheless, aside from this minute detail, great experience at Tozzi!

I tried on a couple things, found exactly what I was hoping to find, got great advice on getting my old boots resoled after an unfortunate campfire incident, and left perfectly pleased and with warm dry feet. Some of the styles here for women's boots and hats are, in my opinion, way cheesy. They have nice quality goods but I would buy more here if the look was a little less nineties and a little more high quality Canadian and US made workwear-inspired wools and leathers. But hey, that's just me. Great experience, highly recommend.

I ordered the dress on a Thursday morning, paid for standard shipping and assumed it would arrive sometime next week since I live in Alberta. Imagine my shock when it arrived the NEXT DAY. Opened it up and everything was beautifully wrapped in ribbon with a beautiful note to boot. The dress is gorgeous - it will definitely need some hemming but I could not be more thrilled. Yes, shoes and sneakers are a definite draw here, but there seems to be so much more hidden around every corner. I decided to try on something different, but was having an issue where the 9's were fitting weird in the heel whereas the 9.5's felt snug, and I was trying to figure out why. After explaining this to both the lady who was helping me and a man who appeared to be a manager(?), the man leans over to the lady and whispers "he's crazy", and then goes on to say in a lower voice that "he'll probably try all these on and just buy the initial pair" (the shoes I came back to buy). First I'll just say that it was pretty clear that there was a fit issue, as it was easily demonstrable by me trying the two shoes on and lifting my heel. I really wish he had of looked at the issue and tried to figure it out, instead of just explaining what a heel counter was and how Onitsuka's don't have them (it was two sizes of the same shoe so this is irrelevant). The lady, by contrast, provided constructive comments like 'try to really tighten the lower laces to push your foot back'. I've worked this job, and I know how customers can be a pain. And if you're not gonna be helpful, the least you can do is not make such comments within earshot of the customer. Or, maybe in French, as at least I wouldn't understand it. It was a huge turn off and I likely won't be going back, which is unfortunate because this place has an awesome show selection and the people are generally super helpful.
