I recently heard of this store on a Facebook post. They looked like they had some nice stuff for gifts or home, so I decided to drive up and see what they had to offer. BIG MISTAKE. First of all, as soon as I walked in I went over to look at some throw pillows and let me just be clear unless you are a 65 year old westmount woman or a gay guy into florals this is not the place for you. I fit into the latter category but just barely. As soon as I touched a pillow a sales-girl came over and said 'I see you're wrecking our display', she was trying to be funny and apparently flex her comedy chops which she clearly did not posses. I laughed it off because I have a sense of humour and clearly she doesn't. I continued to look around with my boyfriend when I said 'oh look at this 120$ devil head pencil sharpener, I like it, I don't know why I like this devil design I've seen from Jonathan Adler but I do...'. The unsolicited response from the woman at the desk was, literally was 'maybe you're the devil'. At this point I was beginning to understand that this was clearly a situation of 2 middle aged westmount women with incredibly bad senses of humour and customer skills being trapped in a box of over-priced bric and brac for way too long. It didn't stop there. I picked up an air freshener for 24 dollars that the lid fell off of when I touched and I fumbled a bit and I said 'I probably shouldn't touch anything in here haha' and the response to that was 'you probably shouldn't, we have the dog in here for the past 3 years and they don't make as much of a mess as you'. I felt like I was at a really bad comedy show that at this point was just becoming offensive. I ended up spending 165$ and left, I wish I wouldn't have. The Jonathan Adler box I bought I found on line for half the price and I think I'll just end up giving it away. Everytime I look at it at home it just reminds me of the brutal experience I had there, so it really lost it's luster for me. I am a really successful hairdresser in Montreal and we do nothing but talk, I'll make sure to promote this place as a no-fly zone for anybody who doesn't want to pay double or be treated with epically bad customer service! read more
