I was next in line, but another customer approached, and I heard Rani reassure them, "Just two minutes." While I understand wanting to acknowledge waiting customers, it made me worry that my appointment was going to be rushed. Personally, I'd rather wait a few extra minutes if it means the person providing my service can take their time and focus on the client they're currently with. During the threading, the thread snapped several times. At one point, it snapped hard enough that it went inside of my closed eye. I know accidents happen, and I wasn't upset about the mistake itself, but it did make the experience uncomfortable. Slowing down a bit could help make the service feel smoother and more relaxing. That said, I want to give credit where it's due. Rani was very detail-oriented when it came to shaping my eyebrows. She took the time to make sure they were even, well-groomed, and nicely trimmed. Right after my appointment, I wasn't sure how I felt about the final result. Now that a couple of days have passed, I've actually grown to really like them. Looking back, I appreciate how clean and polished my eyebrows look. Overall, I'd describe my experience as mixed. The actual quality of the eyebrow shaping was very good, but the threading experience itself left me a little uneasy. I'm still undecided about whether I'll return, but I can definitely say that Rani does nice work when it comes to shaping brows.

My nail tech started using an artificial nail to pull off my acrylic tip - finger nails and broke 3 of my natural nails. Instead of letting my nails soak in acetone then using their machine to file them off. Mind you, my natural nails werent strong but were long and none of them were broken except for 1 index finger. She then claimed that they were already broken when I knew only one of my natural finger nails was already broken. I told her they weren't even and she ignored me. I also told her to keep my natural nails long and she didn't listen. What upset me the most was the customer service! I have never not tipped a nail tech before but I left frustrated and didnt even want to complete the service because my nails looked horrible since she left two fingernails short and my thumb half chipped. It cost me $30 for these services and my nail tech acted like nothing was wrong. I would like to say the issues were caused by a language barrier but at that point, I left . I should have complained while I was there but I just wanted to get out of there and do my manicure myself.

If you really want to know about this salon and a few of the people there, this is long, but a MUST read! First let us talk about the salon. It is clean, upbeat, personable, and a place you can feel completely comfortable to be yourself. There is Behi who immediately searches for ways to make sure you enjoy and pamper yourself with drinks, has even offered to get me something for lunch several times, and so on. She is an absolute doll! Secondly, let us talk about my history with salons and stylists: 1) I do NOT like salons where you walk in and immediately feel bombarded with them trying to sell you this and sell you that. 2) I do NOT like salons that make you feel like you are waiting for your number to be called. 3) I do NOT like stylists that do not listed to what you want, cannot provide a knowledgeable consultation on your hair cut, color, style, and the biggest is explaining how to maintain it. 4) I also cannot stand it when the stylists says they understand what you want, and then you leave with something that you could have gotten done at some cheapo salon. With all of that being said, if you are like me and do not like salons like that.....YOU HAVE TO TRY JON DAVID SALON! I have never experienced any of those things that I do NOT like there. Third, I have saved the best for last; let us talk about my stylist, Carmen. I have extremely thick, coarse, curly, and long hair. I have been told I have enough hair for 2 people. It is extremely difficult to find a stylist who can cut your hair to fit the curly locks you have going without making you look like you are wearing a bell or Christmas tree. For some reason many stylist struggle with cutting curly hair where the curls just flow beautifully. Carmen actually started out cutting my husband's hair, and he told her about my hair struggles. She told him to have me come in. The first time I was there she had me so relaxed that I fell asleep while she was doing the blowout. It might be easier if I provide a list of all the things about Carmen that I can tell you: 1) She is highly attentive 2) She listens to you during the consultation - which she repeats every time you go to ensure you both are still on the same page 3) She will advise you about choices you are making (ya know since she is the expert), and will let you know how it will affect your hair as well as what you would have to do to keep up that look you are going for. She will even let you know if what you want is not a good choice if it will not produce healthy beautiful hair. 4) She will tell you that her business card is your hair so she is going to make sure it is a walking advertisement for her - in other words you will look like you have the hair of a model when you leave, trust me. 5) We decided to make a color change to my hair, and there is no going back now. I get so many compliments on my hair everywhere I go, seriously - Restaurants, stores, public events, work, walking to work, and the best place of all is at home from my husband - which is what all us wives want, right ladies?! 6) She remembers what is going on in my life and asks me about how those situations are going and so forth. 7) She explains in detail how to take care of your new do, and provides options for any changes you want to make. 8) If she sees your hair doing something such as with color/highlights that is not up to par she will continue working on it to make sure your hair is gorgeous instead of just leaving it there (which I have actually had some other stylists do). 9) She can cut, treat, color, highlight, and style hair like nobody's business. Even thick, coarse, curly, long hair like mine. 10) This is the one that is going to come from the heart, and tell you exactly the kind of stylist you have in Carmen....she cuts our entire family's hair. She has become a part of our lives, someone we care about to and we know she cares about us. So in closing, I went to Carmen with a cut that needed fixed, color that was blah, and curls that needed control. I am sitting here today with gorgeous red hair, that is softer, shinier, and healthier than it has ever been. It is straight right now, but even curly my hair looks fabulous. I leave that salon feeling like I have the hair of a super model. I feel gorgeous. I also feel like I just got finished spending time with friends. If you are looking for your next salon; man, woman, child.....this is the place, and Carmen is your go to stylist. If she can turn my hair around, she can be that stylist for you to, and you can have the same experience of leaving feeling like you just spent time with friends and came out a super model. read more

Hands down the worst experience of my life. Okay so LONG story short, my husband booked an appointment for me to get my hair dyed. I wanted a bayaloge so I took a picture in of a beautiful job, mainly dark brown fading down to a few small blonde streaks at the bottom, since my hair was brunet anyways I didn't want much blonde... I was put with some younger guy who had very little experience instead of the woman my husband originally made the appt with who was supposed to be an excellent colorist. This guy put so much blonde on my hair that even the "owner lady" at the front and the real owner both questioned what he was doing, and he straight up told me he lied to the owner about what level of processor he was using... after spending 5 hours in this guy's chair watching him freak out because he knew he messed up, I walked out with orange, and I mean a full head of orange, except for a straight line across the top of my head with about 2 inches of dark roots. Never have I left a salon in tears, this was first for me. They charged me $260 to ruin my hair then I had to spend another $150 to have it fixed by someone who knew what they were doing. Now my hair is falling out, over processed and dead due to the amount of bleach he put on my head and left me to go do somebody else's haircut. The best part is that when my husband called the "owner lady" to find out what happened and get it fixed, she argued with us both, called me a liar and said I asked for my hair to look that way (which is a bold faced lie) and said we just were looking to get a refund. After fighting back and forth with her she finally agreed to look at the pic I brought in and then after an hour of her belittling me on the phone, she agreed to have the SAME STYLIST fix it..uh not only did I not trust him with my hair but after all she said over the phone I would not have went back in there if u paid me. So my husband told her this just isn't gonna work, think we need a refund, then she called us poor and said it was all about the money. My husband finally lost his temper as anyone would. She hung up and text him that she would bring his refund in full but she was going to talk to his manager since the salon is one of the stores next to the apartments he worked at. Long story short, after her saying her making up accusations about her car being vandalized the next day (which is stupid because 9 other cars were vandalized in that parking garage that week alone.) They first moved my husband to a different property then later he resigned. This was the biggest disaster and worst experience I've ever had with any business. I've never had any business handle something that was their fault so badly. Oh and the refund she supposedly sent via mail, yeah that was a lie. She told my husbands regional manager she sent $90 to get my hair fixed, that was another lie. The money is not important in this matter though, I trusted these people to do a good job on my hair since they are an upscale salon. I would not recommend anyone step foot in this place. I wouldn't let them groom my dog. My only intention is to get the word out so that NOBODY EVER has to go through what I did. They have no idea how to run a business and should be ashamed of what they have done. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to Jon David Salon. Everyone there was inviting and checking on me multiple times while I was waiting on my appointment with Amanda Yasin. The only reason why I was waiting was because I got there over 30 mins late due to getting lost(my fault). I thought for sure I would have to reschedule because I was wanting color and cut but she didn't make me reschedule, as long as I was okay with being fit in between a few or her other appointments which was fine with me. Even with her fitting me in she was still personable and didn't try to rush through the process with me or her other clients, which takes talent. While my hair was processing, I was still being checked on by Amanda, the other staff, and even Jon David himself(you don't find that in very many salons now these days). I showed Amanda a picture of want I wanted, which was totally different from what I had(coming from a light brown with highlights to a dark brown). She show me color samples of what it would look like and to make sure I was happy with the color. I haven't had someone do that for me in a long time. She was very knowledgeable of the color processing and the product that she used, which reassured me even more. Overall I was extremely satisfied with the service there and I LOVE my hair!! Crazy experience today! I walked in for my regular (every 3 weeks) appointment and witnessed a heated exchange between the owner and an upset customer. I was sitting only a few feet away in my regular stylist's chair. Have to say that the owner was about as patient and professional as you could be with a hostile and unreasonable customer. I can see that customer extended that frustration onto yelp with a thoroughly one-sided version of things. It inspired me to offer my own thoughts... Before I found Jon David, I always felt like I had to drive to an expensive, upscale salon in Dallas. My wife and I have lived in Las Colinas for over a decade and have been loyal Jon David Salon clients for over 5 years. Honestly, they've always been very friendly and welcoming. They ask to see pictures of my kids, ask how my wife's doing, and treat me with warmth and respect ... and they are boutique level skilled (most important to me as I need to look polished in my business). No surprise that they are doing so well. Obviously, lots of folks agree with me! If you're looking, do yourself a favor and make an appointment. read more

I went to get my hair done Saturday, and even though I repeatedly told Jeff I didn't want blonde near the top of my head (I have dark hair & had a growing out balayage) he gave me very blonde uneven highlights throughout my hair and also did not cover the gray. I was given an appt today to fix it. I went back & was asked to show where the gray was. It's scattered throughout my hair so I tried to find some while I had Jeff & Behi, who says she's the owner, peering over my head. When I found one, she told Jeff, "make sure you get that one strand", like the rest of my hair was not messed up. She minimized the problem and spoke to me in a very patronizing tone with a stupid smirk on her face, then lectured me about how she has excellent reviews and interacts with customers. Because I said "look at my f-Ing hair" she decided to offer a refund, then had me sign a note saying I refused service. I added why I refused the service to the note and got my money. Everyone else at the salon seems nice, but the woman is ridiculously unprofessional if you have a complaint. I'm posting pictures of my hair and the note. read more

You won't be disappointed! The friendly welcome, the ambiance of the salon and most important, the service you receive. Your expectations will be met with what ever service you're needing. Jon David is my stylist and I have found none better. A few years back I was seeing a stylist and he unexpectedly passed away. I wasn't sure who to go to. Jon David was highly recommended to me and I've never been disappointed. His color expertise is exceptional, along with his state-of-the-art hair cutting. I have thick, wavy hair and I knew I had found the right stylist when I didn't have to go home, rewash and style my hair directly after seeing him. It's another plus when you can style your own hair afterwards and be pleased with the results! Important to me also, is keeping current with new styling techniques and products; and that's a priority with Jon David and company. If you are Male or Female looking for a new hair stylist or getting your hair cut, highlighted or done professionally for the first time, I highly recommend Laila! She is the BEST..... Very talented, nice and super easy to talk too. I started going to Laila a little over a year ago when she was at another salon and although she has since moved to "John David Salon" in Las Colinas, I was willing to follow her wherever she ended up going, no matter how far of a drive it would be. She is amazing at color, highlights, extensions and styling. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Laila will make you feel comfortable and at ease from the start, she will listen to what you want and she is also very good making sure her clients are completely satisfied with the work she has done. I did not expect this at all and would not recommend this store if you want to have a safe eyebrow threading service. You lose your money and get such cuts on the skin in return. Props because they did get the length I wanted but it was embarrassingly uneven. I ended having to curl my hair that evening since they had already closed after I noticed. I went back the next day and she kindly redid my cut without taking any more length off and not charging me extra. I was charged $30 plus tip for the cut, if I knew it was going to be bad I would have just gone to super cuts for half the price.
