We missed the turn in for this place. There's a small sign that says it's on the left ahead but it meant right there. You drive through a lot of trucks and trailers parked and you wind around to the end where the restaurant is. It's not a good parking lot for motorcycles. There's not a sign there either, but once you go inside you'll find a nice little dining room and bar. You sit wherever you want and there's outdoor tables as well. I had a clam strip basket that comes with Coke slaw, corn fritters and fries or onion rings. Food was great and plentiful. Prices were very reasonable and service was good. I had sweet tea which was below average. Bathrooms are on the outside. I recommend giving it a try. read more

What a hidden gem! It's right on the water of the St John's River. Beautiful and peaceful scenery with amazing food. We got their gator tacos and chicken wings. The wings were delicious! Their most popular flavor is Scotty style so we of course had to try it and it did not disappoint. Probably the best wings I've had in a long time. The staff and customers were all so friendly. We went right after it opened and were first table of the day! Our server was so sweet and attentive! We started off with a cup of the swamp cabbage and it was so unique! Great flavors! Highly recommend. My son got 10 bbq wings and they were the biggest wings I've been in years! Great! My hubby and I split the gator basket with Cajun seasoning, onion rings, cole slaw and corn fritters. Gator was some of the best we've ever had! So tender and seasoned well. Onion rings and coleslaw were amazing! Sauce for gator wasn't my favorite ever, but it wasn't bad. Corn fritters reminded me of funnel cake! I'm more of a hush puppy person, but they were unique! Great seafood restaurant right on the St. Johns River! Both the service and the food was wonderful. You can choose to eat outside or inside depending on the Florida weather. Love coming to this hidden gem in Geneva. The food is always excellent and the service is prompt and friendly. The staff treat you like family and friends! It's just such a lovely place. I have been coming here for years stopping in after fishing the St. John's or to see the occasional tournament weigh in. You'll have to excuse my sad photo of the Scotty Wings, we were hungry and I forgot to take a picture until we were about done.. and I completely forgot about snapping a pic for the pretzel appetizer (next time I promise!). Anyway the wings (Scotty style) are our favorite way to order than but the other flavors are excellent too including traditional Buffalo and the garlic parm. We especially love the gator bites cajun style and the Turkey club as well. For appetizers there are several that are really stand out including the jalapeño poppers, the pretzel w cheese (the crunchy outside and the soft inside... wow. So so good), the fried squash and the corn fritters. Actually speaking of the corn fritters, I have ordered these alone with nothing else because they're my favorite. Alright if I keep raving on, I'll end up listing half of the menu before I'm done with this review, but I really recommend trying out the jolly gator even for just a drink... the drink prices are competitive and reasonable, something that seems rarer these days. read more

This was a fantastic fish camp. The servers and service was great. Was looking forward to come back for some of my Ole Florida home cooked food. Everything was great, but the main Florida items they were out of (Frog Legs, Catfish and Clam Strips). I got the Gator Bite Platter, Daughter BLT and don Gator Poorboy. They were all great. So, it's a little out of the way but it will not disappoint! The water view and dozens of airboats passing for entertainment was super nice but the food was AMAZING!!!! My husband and I are foodies and we know better than anyone that it doesn't have to be fancy to be good! The wings and fried okra were my absolute fav! Most places bread their wings but I do not care for that. The skin was still crispy but light and the flavors were SO there! The breading on the okra was PERFECT! The gator was not chewy but packed with flavor and super tender. The cherry on top was the staff! So friends and down home. We had multiple servers check on us and thank us for visiting. This is a dive bar gem. Spent the perfect day here. Super friendly staff and enjoyed the regulars :) Apparently this is the place to go when you're in Geneva. I was craving basic fried shrimp and this hit the spot. Came from Cape Canaveral and for some reason, all the restaurants on the water there do peel-and-eat shrimp and coconut shrimp but no basic fried shrimp. Just happened to spot this place by accident while hungry for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Liked my cole slaw and chips and LOVED the corn fritters. Watched the airboats go out and fishing boats float by. A different kind of water view than what I had in mind but a cool view nevertheless! After eating, we ended up taking an airboat ride. Was a fun afternoon and will definitely be back on my way to SFB. read more

We stop here while visiting family in FL to see the gators swimming in the nearby swamp and grab some yummy baskets (shrimp, fish, fries etc.) A perfect Florida "fish camp" for boaters and locals. Greasy food, beer and outside patio if you want to enjoy the warmth of a beautiful day. A covered patio for live music, too. My only critique is the smoking outside. This is the second time we have come here on jetskis and the owners daughter told us we needed to call ahead for reservations The first time was during covid and we got here at 11am and there was no one here, you would think they would be grateful for our business This last time we arrived as a party of 6. She told us we could not sit inside even though we were not wet as she claimed. Again she told us we had to call ahead because 40 people on jetskis had arrived earlier. It's exactly what it should be, without trying. If you can manage to release your inner Florida cracker the Jolly Gator will unlock the feeling of an era of times long since past. The way Florida used to be, simple and slow going. Outdoor riverside seating allows for great views of the Florida cracker in it's natural habitat. Alligators don't get too close to land or else they end up on the menu. You'll have to hop on a boat to see them. The menu is simple and but the food is good. The Swamp Cabbage, the most standout item, is an old Florida recipe that has a perfect pairing of flavors: sweet heart of palm, onion and celery - savory bacon and sausage - and light touch of spice. It's hot, hardy and comforting. Other Florida cracker favorites such as leg of frog and fried soft shell crab are included on the menu. The beers are cold and cheap. I have an ambivalence toward air boat ride since they are so damn fun, but really shitty for the environment. I'll let you make up your mind on that one. If you are not a local you will probably get noticed, although I suspect It wouldn't take much to become considered a local as everyone was very friendly. A "good ole' boy fish camp" with good home-cooking... We found this place by accident last year, on our way driving from West Palm Beach to Sanford for the auto-train. Oh my, I felt like I stepped back in time. It was amazing! The food, fish sandwiches, were excellent and a complete surprise. The owner was sitting outside and just added to the atmosphere. Even better were the people fishing on the shore, with 10 foot long cane poles and umbrellas to protect them from the sun. Really, I thought I was in Florida, back in 1950. Don't pass this place up!
