I like that Cincinnati now has more ethnic restaurants as they bring so much value to the community…read moreand will open up the taste buds. This was my first time trying Senegalese food and it was really good! I am happy that I went with my friend who is originally from Senegal and she helped me pick out what to eat. I trusted her and it was very delicious. I tried the national dish of Senegal - Thiebou Jien - it is broken rice with a whole bunch of side dishes (they do have some Vietnamese influence if you read up on the history of Senegal). My friend also ordered this okra stew with fish, which is thick and sticky that you eat with rice. It was good as well. I think my experience was good because I had my friend there who knew what to order. She also let me try a hibiscus drink (which was quite sweet), which is the national drink of Senegal along with a drink made from the Baobap tree (looks like milk). They have street parking and also a paid lot across the street.

The maffe was average, maybe could have used more flavor. The yassa has good flavors but I do not believe that chicken was freshly cooked, it seemed like leftovers. Not sure if I will reorder.

Two reasons you should go to Divine Appetite: 1. Great Caribbean/African food. 2. Support a great…read morelocally owned family restaurant. This was restaurant 2 (of 24) of my wife and my December eating Advent calendar. What a great treat! My wife ordered the Fufu (think of mashed potatoes, but made of Casava). It came with a spicy soup and a whole Tilapia (including bones). Our food supply has mostly made us forget our proteins were living at some point, so I quite enjoy the "bone in" experience due to it's lack of processing and higher freshness. I ordered the Fried Red Snapper and it took was the whole fish. We both loved the flavors! For sides I had fried plantains and a black-eyed pea dish. Both Amazing. So the food and love and attention put into it by the family is the hero here. It is hard to describe, but we just feel better after eating fresh food, and that is how we left Devine Appetite... feeling great This restaurant is exactly as I would expect from a small family owned business. It is in an unassuming strip mall location. Many of the family work there (I counted 3 generations). The food is prepared when ordered, so it will not be a quick in and out experience. My wife and I loved this vibe and will certainly come back. We saw many people come in to grab food as take out, so that is also an option.

Food was very authentic and had good flavor so if you're into this cuisine I would definitely recommend it. It is a small space inside but there is seating available so that you can enjoy the food fresh which I will say is definitely the way to go. The service was amazing. We found out about this place through someone's Instagram story and so they asked to see the picture and helped with what was on it from the menu and what else they recommended as first timers. They also helped with how to eat Fufu and the proper way in doing so. The staff was very friendly and honestly made the experience really good as it can sometimes be scary going to a new cuisine for the first time and not knowing what to expect!

He brought us a menu and excitedly described the lunch options. Once we made our decisions, he brought us hot Chai tea to sip while we waited for our food. My sister ordered the lamb shank while I ordered the chicken stew. Both dishes came with basmati rice (that was brown with spices and flavor) and a salad. We thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious food. The meat fell off the bone of her lamb shank and my chicken stew was beyond delectable. At the time of this review (March 2025), the restaurant had only been in operation for about 4-5 months. So, the minimal decorations and decor are probably because the restaurant is so new. I'm sure the owners will make the place look a little nicer once they are able sustain and stay in business. Because the food was so tasty, I didn't remove one star for lack of good decor. We enjoyed our meals so much that we plan to return when we are in the area.

This is a little hole in the wall featuring, I think, Somali cuisine. I'm writing as a vegetarian -…read moreI really should stop searching for "Vegetarian-friendly restaurants" as the algorithm has no clue. The clerk and I had some language problems (which was fine, that's what the internet is for) and although he was surprised vegetarians exist, we found something I could eat: full - a beans/gravy type dish with a flatbread and salad and a big glass of Vitmo, a tasty nonalcoholic fruit cordial. Literally all the other dishes on the menu that aren't bread include meat (which again, is fine, but doesn't work for me). Food came very fast and portions are indeed very generous. I wouldn't call this vegetarian-friendly, but I was hoping for tasty ethnic cuisine, which is what I got. Lots of seating.
