Jollibee was our go-to fast food eatery in the Philippines and finally being able to eat there again after 20+ years allowed me to relive my childhood memories. Their spaghetti did not disappoint. My boyfriend, who has never had Jollibee or really any Filipino food at that, ordered palabok and was quite impressed. Their fried chicken with gravy dipping option was also appealing. It did not surprise me at all at how packed this place was. Regardless of the crowd, they were quick to attend to our orders and meals were prepared in a timely manner. Not hating on their food at all, but Jollibee management needs to get their act together. I am only giving two stars cause the spicy fried chicken is literally the best I've ever had, even beyond fast food establishments. It is amazing.... But you can't just walk in and buy it. You have to wait in line forever. They have two registers and never have them both open, no matter how long the line is. The cashiers almost never seen like they know what they're doing, the food is always a wait when you do get to order, they forget items and they often run out of spicy chicken. You would think they would have figured out how to operate by now. I went yesterday and the line was short, so it wasn't too busy. I thought "great! Only two people in front of me. This is going to be easy this time!" I was wrong. It took about 10 minutes for the cashier to catch up entering the last person's order before the person in front of me could move up. When I finally walked up to the counter after about 15-20 minutes, there was a sign at the register with tiny font that said they were out of spicy chicken. It's like a bait and switch. Why not let people know upfront that the one item they're coming in for is not available? It's so they can sell other stuff. It's like a bait and switch. And yes, it was like this pre-covid. They need new management, that can train staff and improve their workflow. If they don't get it together, eventually they'll lose customers and start closing like the other up and coming fried chicken fast food spot that was going to blow up, Pollo Campero. They're fools if they think they can rest on their laurels and that folks are just going to keep showing up. I'm going back one day but not for a while. Came to this Jollibee location on Dec 24, 2020. I understand it was Christmas but they had poor Covid restrictions and poor customer service. Since it is Chicago, it was extremely cold outside... but yet... they had us form a line outside with those wind chill. Once you got inside, it was a good 20 min wait before you got to the cashier to place your order. On top of that, they give you a warning that it will be 25-40 mins for your food. From the inside, it seems like people were waiting there so I decided to wait inside as well. I didn't sit on the designated chairs as others has sat on it before and there's no cleaning station for your usage. I waited a total of 52 mins for the bucket treat B with an extra jollibee spaghetti. It was upsetting to see the people waiting behind me.. receiving their food a whole 10 mins before me. They have all the food prepared but yet the packaged it 30 mins later so the food is no longer hot and ready. I wouldn't recommend this location. As fast food chains go, the chicken is very consistently served very fresh and temperature "hot" and perfectly done crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Their chicken in general I have to agree is on the expensive side. A bucket is $10 for six pieces. I really only like their mashed potatoes, rice, gravy and corn, but I don't like their spaghetti which is too sweet and soggy noodles. I kind of like their fiesta noodles but it's not the best I have had. I definitely do not recommend their burgers or steak sandwich, but their chicken tenders are good for those who like the white meat. Their chicken basically are thighs and legs for the traditional buckets. It's too bad they stopped their weekday specials because those were better deals. I love Jollibee, it brings such a nostalgic feeling every time I walk in. Reminds you so much of the Philippines, but Filipino Jollibee for me is undeniably better lol. Whenever we order we always get the 2 pc chicken joy with double rice. Not a lot know but they have a spicy version and omg it is simply THE BEST, and when I say spicy it is SPICY lol. If you ever get to try the chicken eat it hot and fresh! Dip it in the gravy and eat with rice, not fries (unless you're a kid). The chicken gravy and rice is a delicious combo. And I know the jolly spaghetti might be not for everyone but if you can, try it first! It is sweeter than your traditional spaghetti and comes with hotdogs, just a heads up. I really, really wanted to love Jollibee. I've been watching people eat this stuff on YouTube for a long time! Let's start with the location. This Jollibee is in the Seafood City Supermarket which is an AWESOME international/Filipino grocery store (with many other eatery options, I might add). Inside Jollibee, you find dirty tables and floors, and a hazardous pile of recycling and garbage blocking the entrance to the restrooms (also filthy). Jollibee still has a lot of novelty and hype in the US, so we waited about 10-15 mins to order at 3:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Jollibee spaghetti, chicken dippers, Yum Burger with cheese, and a peach mango pie. The spaghetti sauce is very sweet (what it's known for), but there wasn't as much meat or as many hot dogs in the sauce as I expected. The yum burger with cheese was inedible. I can't remember the last time I was unable to finish a cheeseburger, but I couldn't stomach this one. The sauce was foul and heavily slathered on a sad looking bun, and the patty was a 1/8 inch thick, burned, and hard excuse for "meat." Pass on that. The chicken dippers were very good. The meat was juicy and tender, and the breading was crisp (although lacked in seasoning). This is the only entree item I would reorder. As you would expect, the peach mango pie was wonderful. The crust is very, very crispy, and the filling is a peach/mango version of your standard fast food corn syrupy sweet and thick pie filling. We also tried the pineapple juice which was sweet, yet refreshing. I'm sure if I grew up with this place, the nostalgia alone would keep me coming back. I tried going to the Jollibee in Skokie a few months after that location opened and it was still 1.5 hr wait. So I left and went to Halal Guys. I didn't get around to trying Jollibee until this new location opened. I didn't know how close Seafood City and this new location was to my friend's apartment until he pointed it out to me one day. I went on a Sunday afternoon to finally try some Jollibee. I waited in line for about 20-30 minutes. I ordered it to go so I waited another 5 minutes for my food to be ready. I ordered the chicken bucket B (which consisted of 6 pcs of fried chicken, a family sized order of spaghetti and 3 peach mango pies) and large fries. I was so excited to try it when I got home. Everything was amazing! Well, except for the fries not being salted at all. I was warned that the spaghetti would be sweet but I grew up with a mom who oddly enough added sugar to the jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce so it was perfect for me. The spaghetti had chopped up pieces of hot dog in it and a little bit of cheese on top. It could have used more sauce. The peach mango pies are a million times better than the McDonald's apple pies that everyone compares them to. I need to go back ASAP. read more
