He was very sweet and professional, talking to us along the way about the area and what to expect from our trip. Upon arriving, the staff setting up the raft were super helpful and reassuring to a friend of mine, who's not as familiar with being on the water. Their 6 person raft was roomy enough for the 4 of us along with a small cooler, dry bag and towels we brought along. We had such a peaceful float on the Current River and had even been given (by our driver) advice on where to find a small cave and spring that was large enough to navigate in. We also saw turtles, a heron, a small weasel, too many birds and butterflies to count and dragonflies landing on our raft along the way. The color of the water, small bluffs and expansive green shores and blue skies, made this a memorable day. Carr's provided a wonderful and safe way to have this experience. Upon arriving, as they assured us, it was very easy to spot the place we hauled in. Within minutes of pulling in, they were there and ready to take us back to the lodge. Use Carr's and have an amazing time on the river!

They were very friendly at the front desk at check-in and while we were staying, the swimming spot was nice the views were great. Friendly restaurant. Mostly friendly staff. The showers for camping were musty though, would suffocate you in mildew smell while u shower and your only other option is the other ones closer to the campsites which I wouldn't even step into. Definitely no bare feet in either shower and make sure you don't touch the walls. The float was super fun and beautiful, the boat guys were nice until our last morning, we hadn't even checked out yet let alone there was no info on a checkout time and were not near home or know the area much. We figured we would let the kids swim one last time before heading out and get some fishing in, we were all packed up. My children and I floated down the rapids and caught ourselves at the sand bar of Dawt Mill that we were just staying at. One of the boat dudes asked if i was staying at Dawt mill I said yes but we were checking out today. He then said well then you need to get the hell off our sand. right to me and my children. I got upset and said some words to the guy and asked his name for being so rude. He then told me none of my fucking business. I got out on the other side of the water walked up to the front desk. The guy had already ran up there with his buddy and told front desk whatever he told them. The front desk had no manager on site at first then the lady proceeded to say she was the assistant manager but wouldn't give me her name or the boat guys name. She gave no eye contact and treated me like a pest, She then said checkout was at 11am so just shrugged her shoulders about how he acted, and then said "that's not what she heard" and then rudely said sorry we've been getting a lot of ppl not staying here going on our sand so he was probably just frustrated. Which is not my problem when he made me feel so unwelcome and uneasy, ruined my last morning and we weren't even hanging out on the sand we just got off the rapids there cuz it was easier with my children in stow. I didn't think I'd be so unwelcomed not even an hour after the checkout time. After not being able to assist me properly she called the boat guys manager who then said that it should've been okay for us to swim there since we were just there staying out of the way and the guy just probably didn't remember me and that he was sorry for what happened etc, I said thankyou for the sorry and consideration and I was glad there was actually someone with customer service around, but we just loaded up and left and not sure if we will ever be back. There is too many other places available on the North Fork River to be explored.

Gotta love Windy's!…read more My family has been coming to the Jack's Fork since well before I was born and we love kayaking here in the summer. We've used various kayak rental companies before and most have been fairly decent, but Windy's has consistently been great. The storefront is nicely managed by friendly employees and they carry a wide variety of seasonal merchandise. Scheduling is easy and they offer canoes in addition to kayaks. This time around, we used their services for a Sunday float on the Current River and very much enjoyed the ride. The Jack's Fork seemed to have an excessive amount of people on giant rafts and it was a less pleasant trip this year as a result (they randomly run into kayaks and tip them because they have limited control of the raft) We had an easy time booking, on-time pick-up for drop off, and very speedy pick-up after we made it to the Two Rivers Landing. All in all, highly recommend using Windy's if you're looking to kayak or canoe in the Jack's Fork or Current River.

Helped us load & unload our things, answered all our questions and were just very polite. I would recommend the float from Circle B to Two Rivers. It is an 8 mile float and it is beautiful! We had Jamie and Curtis as our guides for a two day trip. This is definitely a full service place. They tie your hook, bait it, and tell you when to reel it in... then when you get a fish they take it off for you. I enjoy getting in there and playing with the bait and the fish, so by the second day I convinced Curtis to let me pick my crawfish and bait the hook and even take a few fish off of the hook as well. These guides really know where the fish are, and what to use to catch them. They provide lunch on some of the trips, which is generally good (store bought) food. I would suggest this service to anybody.

The total package! They give you quality information on how to fish from beginner to expert. They also offer canoes, single/double kayaks, guided scenic tours, guided fishing tours (includes overnight camping or half day), and beginner to advanced fly fishing tours - there is something fun for the whole family!! I highly recommend Hurst Fishing Service over any other services offered on this river.

You won't find me in urban environments frequently and I spent time growing up in the country fishing & hunting. *IF you're a "City Person", this probably isn't the spot for you. There are three larger campgrounds that run adjacent to the river: one North of the bridge and two to the south of the bridge. If you're a tent camper, there's plenty of treeline to stay mostly shaded. If you've got a camper, there are several electrical/water hookups (you need to call in advance to book). And if you're more of a cabin person, they've got 3 sleeper cabins with heat & A/C that sleep several and a big cabin that has it's own kitchen & bathroom to go along with the Heat & A/C (once again, I highly advise booking well in advance). They offer a few different options for river fun. The canoes, kayaks, tubes, and rafts all offer different experiences. The upper stretch of the river starts with a bus ride up to the put in and takes 5-7 hours to float back to camp depending on how motivated you are. Make sure to check out the springs. The lower stretch starts at camp, takes 4-5 hours, and ends at Dawt Mill where they pick you up and bring you back to camp. Either way, make sure to bring a bunch of water, sunscreen, and a camping attitude. Just remember that the Pettit's clan is amazing and will work with you as best they can, but this is camping, not the spa at Hilton.

Although the bank has some tall grasses, there are paths to the river. They have flush toilets and shower houses, and even small cabins to rent up by the main office. As long as you go on a float trip, you have permission to camp... we stayed 9 days and did 2 floats. The upper float, which ends at the camp site, is 7 hours minimum. It is a bit more challenging and features a low water bridge to duck under when the water is low and a 3-foot drop chute. The lower float ends at Dawt Mill and is 5 hours minimum. It should be fun for all ages and features a low water bridge you have to duck under when the water is low. We did the 7 hour trip and we're disappointed in the 5 hour trip; I suggest you do the 5 hour trip first. All the staff are amazing!
