Have been to Ward Park several times in the Spring with the BFF who lives in Marlboro... Love the…read moreplayground - Just hate that it is a football field away from the Parking Lot, but I can deal with that... Today for the first time, we visited the Pool - She had been talking about it all spring & I was very weary - but actually had a GREAT time... First off its a 2ft Wading Pool - so dont show up expecting to do HandStands & Dives (Unless of course you are vertically challenged)... The baby was unsure at first (hes never really been in a pool now that he is aware of the world), but I got in & laid down with him & we had a blast... It was busy but not soo much that we were bothered... There were some lifeguards there that do make you feel safe, there is a restroom which is also convenient... It was a good time, I would definitely recommend if you have smaller children & dont want to deal with bigger kids pushing & splashing... However it was also my first time, I might have just picked a good day - who knows what next weekend will bring (Ill update)!

I fell and burned my hand on the half pipe then proceeded to split open my knee because some idiot left trash. Should I mention the group of moms sitting on ramps watching their kids on scooters misuse the park all while a tiny white poodle ran around pissing everywhere. I will not return. Ever.

We have been here twice in the last week (during pandemic times)…read more Pros: - Separate Big Kid and Toddler Play Areas/Structures - Easy parking - 2 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, play area, baseball diamond, and big grass area Cons: - Often unsupervised children running amuck, while their Canada Goose-wearing entitled Moms are sitting on a bench gossiping about their lives and not paying attention at all to what their children are doing - Big Kids are often running rampant (especially true during the weekend) in the Little Kids/Toddler Play Areas If you have very little ones (toddlers, like I do), I'd recommend going during the week and not the weekend. The Big Kids who are unruly, entitled, and rude as hell will push the little ones around or rush and run around so quickly that they knock over the toddlers like bowling pins. Their parents will see and witness this going down and after each incident, will announce - "Well, it's time to go home." No apologies will ever be said or given, which honestly just says so much more about the parents than their kids. Kids are gonna be kids, but they're often reflective of their parents. ANYWAY - the play structure itself is decent. Go on a weekday, not weekend. Stay watchful of entitled Newtonian Moms.

Decided to visit the Universal area (playground for all ages and abilities, seasonal spray park,…read moreseasonal mini golf and sledding hill)! We were on late afternoon weekday so not as busy or crowded as it would be on the weekend. The spray park has not opened yet (looks like will plan to open June 30). The good: I love the variety and amount of climbing structures and things to do in this playground. I love that this is universal (The Bay Area has a bunch of them and it's called Magical Playground- with plans to build them in each town). There is a free reservation system online for parking (max 2 hours) for weekends and holidays only. No Street or Neighborhood Parking is allowed. The bad: Because Mass is slow to add cool new universal parks, this one was hugely popular with the community that neighbors were complaining because there was not enough parking and people were overloading to resident parking. So hopefully there will be plans to add more parking. They have those built in shades but it is essentially useless because it doesn't cover everything. I wish there were more trees for natural shade. Because it was unbearable in the hot sun. We were sweating after 5 minutes. I can see it being very nice in the fall with cooler weather. 4 stars because this is an amazing playground but in the grueling summer heat, you could get a heat stroke so stay hydrated!

I've heard about initiatives like this from the TriCities area in Washington state but hadn't directly experienced one. I think it's great for families and the community that somewhere like this playground exists for children who are unable to access traditional playgrounds. My sister said this spot gets busy on the weekends and requires a resident permit to park in their fairly sizable lot (though I can imagine how busy it would get). My nephew had a lovely time with the various slides & also the firetruck.

One nice feature we saw at the play-scape was a collection of park-owned child-sized wagons and vehicles for the toddlers to play with. Love this park... Went with the BFF this past weekend when in Marlboro…read more.. She had been talking about it & considering my son isnt LOVING water at this stage in life, I was apprehensive... But Im SOOOO Glad that we went... First off the parking is weird & far away, but at least glad there is ample parking... The park is enclosed & this is a HUGE plus coming from the mother of a very curious little boy who wants to run all around at times... I am not worried that he has wandered off (I dont usually let him out of my sight for 1 sec, but still the gate is good) The sand box might have been the biggest "OOHHH" moment for me, there must have been 754 Dump Trucks & other little sand things & I asked my gf rather excitedly "Do these come with the park", because as I had noted earlier my son tends to be very curious and will almost climb into or onto other peoples strollers/bikes, so these being the parks toys was super exciting, he could play & I wouldnt have to continually tell him NO & keep apologizing to other parents... The climby, slide thingy (what are those called anyway) was rather large & there were several things that could be climbed up & down & ran across with several slides on it... I even climbed up there... The sprinkler pad was not on when we went - they close at 4 on Saturdays (will keep in mind for next time) There are picnic tables & benches all around & there are basketball courts AND A PORT-A-POTTY!!! How cool is that, not that I would use it but the conveinence is still pretty cool! I will def be back soon (prolly this Sat)...
