Got a quote from another locksmith for $150-200 to replace a lock. Called Johnson Locksmith to get a second quote. They diagnosed the problem over the phone and explained how to repair the lock myself. The part cost $3, and the repair took around 20 minutes. I was staying at a good friend's place for the weekend while she was out of town and we needed an extra set of keys for me due to timing differences. Last time I went to home Depot to get keys cut they didn't work very well, or not at all. I came here instead to get an actual locksmith to cut my keys instead of some random dude from home Depot. I supplied the blank keys and they cut them for free. You just gained a lifelong customer. read more

I lock my keys in the car on an embarrassingly regular basis. Because the key has the computer chip in it, it's hard to duplicate. Johnson Lock recommended making a few keys that just fit the car door, and maybe putting one magnetically under the car. This key keeps getting lost so I'm no longer doing that, but having a spare key (or three) that can open the door when the keys are inside is great. read more

I am a long time customer having had them do locks on my previous home, my current home, and my kids homes. They are also honest about what you need and not just interested in making a sale. Case in point I had an estimate from a new car dealer for $100 to repair the key lock on a car door. I happened to be near Johnson Lock and stopped by. The person who greeted me was not someone who knew me as a long time customer; for all he knew I might have never been in before.
