I found a beautiful arrangement in their display case and opted for it. I had mentioned it was our 13th wedding anniversary and they offered to add another rose to make it a rose per year of marriage. Sounded good to me, I paid $8 for one additional white rose to add to the 12 red. Fast forward three days, the red roses are all dropped over and never even opened fully. The white rose (which came new out of a box is looking wonderful). Upon looking online I've learned a batch of fresh roses should have no issues lasting a week to 10 days no problem. Disappointing to spend that kind of money to only get a couple of days out of them.

I've had recent bad experiences with an online florist company sending sad-looking flowers, so I decided to search for a local business. I called Boise at Its Best based on its Yelp reviews and couldn't be more pleased. I let them know my budget and that I liked the 208 bouquet from their website. They asked more about my sister and what she enjoyed, so I shared that she likes sunflowers and camping. I then scheduled delivery for the start of her birthday week so she could enjoy them leading up to her special day. They put together a great, fresh, outdoorsy bouquet that my sister absolutely LOVED. In fact, she immediately sent me photos raving about it. So, thank you to the Boise At Its Best team for making my sister's day even more beautiful.

Emmett Floral was willing to work with me on a delivery date and was very flexible in changes in schedule I requested. Unfortunately, I had to follow up with the business and the recipient two weeks after the fact when I didn't get any kind of confirmation. The flowers never got there -- there was a change in ownership, and my contact information got lost in the shuffle. Turns out they had attempted delivery on the day I asked, but the recipient wasn't home. They had the correct phone number for her in their system, but she never got the voicemails for some reason. I told the new owner I was expecting them to leave the bouquet at the door, but she said she wouldn't do that because it was far too cold. (I've only ever ordered from 1800-Flowers, so it was very much an "a-ha!" moment for me when I realized that NOT leaving $100 flowers on a stoop in 10° weather is absolutely the correct thing to do.) So Emmett Floral was actually waiting for me to contact them so they could make it right. I was offered a refund or another delivery attempt -- the latter of which I accepted because I'd like to support small businesses whenever I can. The new owner was very empathetic and friendly, and everything went much more smoothly the second time, at no extra charge to me. The recipient LOVED her bouquet, and while I had no specific requests for the types of flowers used, I liked how unique it looked. Opportunities for me to order through Emmett Floral again are unlikely, but I highly recommend them due to their upstanding professionalism when my order turned out to be more chaotic than anticipated.
