I strongly disliked even the idea of going to a dentist. However upon arrival and being greated by the nicest and most caring team, all my worries went away. Everybody including greeting staff to the doctor and assistants were simply just great down to earth people and cared deeply about my concerns and walked me through every step of the way, and even when a slight inconvenience happened like getting extra xrays, they always thoroughly appologized even through it was not necessary. I got my cleaning done today and although the procedure was uncomfortable, the doctor talked me through it all and took breaks to check on me to make sure Im still doing okay. Overall 10/10 5 star experience and if you are worried about going to the dentist I can assure you this place will treat you right! P.S. They offer an itemized bill without asking for it, so no shady business there! read more

I went here for the first time at the end of 2025 as this office was one that I knew was covered by my insurance. I was told I was in danger of having gum disease and that I needed a crown as well as some things to help fight the gum disease. These things would've cost me over $3,000 out of pocket. I finally went to get a second opinion last week and was told I have a cavity vs a crown and everything else looks like I'm in great overall oral health. I'll be spending less than $200 out of pocket. Be careful. This dentist office will sell you you on unnecessary dental work. Get a second opinion before shelling out. read more

I've been coming to this office for years and always had excellent care with Dr. Patel--she is truly outstanding, and many of the positive reviews here reflect that. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was nothing like my prior experiences. I arrived early for a routine cleaning and, despite an empty waiting room, wasn't seen until 25 minutes past my scheduled time with no explanation. Instead of receiving my cleaning, I was given an X-ray and abruptly told I needed not one, but two root canals--without a clear explanation. I was addressed dismissively ('hey chief') and left feeling pressured and disrespected. After two hours, I walked out without receiving the cleaning I came for and requested my X-rays to get a second opinion. This office used to be a place I trusted, but based on this experience, I can no longer recommend it. If you do go, I would specifically request Dr. Patel, as she was the one dentist here who always provided excellent care. read more

They have a lot of turnover. Over the last three years I've probably seen three different dentists and who knows how many different hygienists. During my most recent visit, the dentist told me he was going to get the laser equipment (which was actually sitting right next to me). Instead of getting equipment, he had gone to see another patient and left sitting there alone for 15 minutes. He also left me for another 5 minutes later in the visit. They seem to prioritize other patients over me. This happened earlier in the year too. I am unhappy with them and disappointed. If they have too few staff to handle the patients, they should schedule fewer patients. I would not recommend this practice. read more

I have been a patient at Johnson Ferry Dentistry for two years and see Dr Janki Patel. Their exams are more thorough than any other of the places I've been in the past. I have an autoimmune condition and they make sure I always pre-medicate for my appointments. I like their staff and love Dr Patel. She is kind, thorough, knowledgeable and caring. In addition to my six-month hygienist appointments, I have had two crowns and other work dental work performed and have been very pleased. I had a painful, costly experience at Johnson Ferry Dentistry. If you need a cleaning, Johnson Ferry Dentistry is probably fine. If you have health concerns, think twice. After a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums, my gums were suddenly inflamed and bleeding. I visited Johnson Ferry Dentistry for a solution. The dentist recommended deep under gum cleaning. I was a long, painful process that led to a $700+ bill. I asked about care, and the dentist told me to "brush through" the bleeding if it recurred. The next day, the problem was back. Brushing as usual made it worse. I decided to seek a second opinion. This dentist was visibly surprised by Johnson Ferry Dentistry's treatment and recommendations. Instead, they referred me to an oral surgeon who prescribed an ointment, noting that I should switch to an extra-soft brush and brush lightly. Suddenly, the bleeding and inflammation got better -- today, it's gone. I reached out to Johnson Ferry, walking them through the results of the second opinion, and asking for some consideration for the $700+ bill I'm still paying. Now more than two weeks later, I haven't heard back. read more

I've been here before for work, a crown and cavity. She was very professional and efficient and respectful. Today, a different story. I had an appointment for a cleaning and to look at another tooth. He came in, after X-rays, without mentioning the cleaning, and said he was checking for periodontal disease. It was obvious he was "selling their complicated 4 stage periodontal process". I politely told him I was there to get my teeth cleaned, not a lengthy periodontal process (involving multiple trips). he said that before he could clean my teeth I'd need to sign a waiver stating I declined the periodontal work. Fine with me I said. They left the room, seemingly miffed, and I sat waiting for 15-20 minutes. No contact. Got up and walked the halls to let them know - thank you I've decided to leave. Not a soul anywhere. No patients, no staff, not even a mouse. It felt like the business was suffering and they were trying anything to sell services, whether the patient wanted them or not. Sorry. Dr. Patel is fabulous! I've been going there since the office opened and she is just marvelous. Not only is she a great dentist, but she is so personable and a joy to chat with, making a visit to the dentist that much better! During and right after Covid, they were having a bit of a rough patch with the scheduling, but they have more than made up for it with this last visit! A great thing about this office is they use the most up to date equipment and you typically don't have to wait forever and a day to get something fixed, like most of my friends do. read more

Switched my dental office from Waldron Lee to here due to recent changes in insurance. After my children and wife had a visit I was about to set up a visit for all 4 of us. This is where the fun and games started. First off...try booking a family of 4 on the website with at least two appointments back to back or at same time. You have to call; so that is exactly what I did... Someone answered and the guy who answered could not find myself or anyone an appointment within 20 minutes. Then told me delta dental was not accepted. What??? Mind you I was placed on hold 3 times for about 5 minutes each time. When the 20 minute mark came around I began to question if this 'guy' even worked for the office. I was suspicious that I was routed to a call service at this time and I was absolutely furious. When the guy came back on the call that is when I lost it. I immediately asked "Are you at the office or is this a call service?" He stated this is their call center as I guess he didn't want the customer to know that Johnson's Ferry Dental is to busy to take calls from their clients in this case a family of 4. As soon as my suspicions where confirmed I told him to advise Johnson's ferry dental that I don't have time to play games and they lost 4 clients due to utilization of a call service. The funny thing is I would have rather talked to a voice mail box than waste 20 minutes of my life trying to set up an appointment for 4 family members through a call service. Since this was not accomplished and if I did not terminate the call, when I did, I could have been on the phone with this poor guy for another hour or two who knew absolutely nothing about booking an appointment for a company he has never heard of and could have been sitting in an office building somewhere in Dubai for all I know. As you know companies are now out sourcing calls when busy or after hours to make customers think they are open 24/7. These people who answer the phone serve no purpose and only make things confusing. I absolutely detest call centers that are outsourced! Needless to say since I knew they would not report back to the office the loss of 4 customers I emailed the office directly. I have since taken my family back to Waldron Lee and should have never left in the first place. Even if that means paying out of network charges! Avoid this practice at all costs. They don't care enough about their customers to simply answer the phone. What a shame... read more

I arrived and waited 20 minutes to get in to have my x rays done. Not too bad but I appeared to be the only person there. I was then taken back to a room that looked like a storage room with a dental chair in the center. The floor was scuffed and appeared dirty, boxes of PPE left open and magazines from 2015! After a disjointed visit with the doctor I was told I had a small infection and needed about $2500 worth of replacement work done. The doctor, not the a hygienist cleaned my teeth and did a half assed job. He didn't even suction me once. My teeth didn't feel clean afterward :( the reason I went to begin with. Anyway, I left after 2 hours and had a bad taste in my mouth..literally I decided to switch dentists to get all the work done. I just left the new dentist and turns out I don't have an infection in the tooth and don't need any work done unless I want to replace a crown. The new dentist tested all my teeth to confirm this, not just looking at an X-ray. Happy I didn't settle for Johnson ferry. No wonder they tried to get me to do the work same day! I regret that I have chosen this dentistry for my crown and root canal. It is too expensive and after the treatment they emailed me again saying Unfortunately, insurance claims came back for the crown as well as the root canal but they did not pay what we were expecting them to pay. Currently, the balance on your account is $1,167.70. Since it was not necessarily your fault or our fault we are willing to spilt the balance with you. You would pay $583.85 and we would take care of the other $583.85. I do apologize about any inconvenience. But where It took around 3500 $. Which is very disappointing and where I can't afford that much cost and they didn't mentioned before treatment. read more

Tried to tell me I had all sorts of issues with my gums...no dentist has ever said to me. Pretty healthy teeth (Just had some tenderness on a crown). I asked if any of the services were covered and they brought in a claim advisor so to speak. I said no thanks. They actually charged me for that 3-5 min conversation. $100. Also charged me for stuff I told them I didn't want. Dental scaling? I told them I didn't want it but I got charged anyhow .. luckily insurance covered it. Took extra X-rays I didn't need. $100 a pop. Most insurance only covers bitewings I found. Don't go here .. sketchy operation. Made the decision while sitting there .. before I got the ridiculous bill.. (not really surprised after the experience) no way I'm returning or bringing my family to this place. Extremely disappointed after getting a root canal done here in April 2020. 10 months and 2 crowns later, I am still having pain and in that time moved back home to Las Vegas. After an evaluation by an endodontist here this week, I was shown on an in depth xray a black pocket at the bottom of my root that is in need of deeper cleaning. So in other words, I have to pay for another root canal because this place did not do a thorough job. Would not recommend. The woman apparently had 10 year experience? I really like this office. The staff is professional and well organized they are also friendly and courteous. The product is excellent. I had a cleaning and a cavity filled and crown applied. The cost was high but they were able to work with my schedule and insurance. My appointment was long but there was very little down time. The staff worked efficiently to get all of my dental work accomplished. I worked with Dr Patel for my evaluation and filling. She was very personable and informative. Went back to JFD for an appointment. Was nice and quick. Was busy but very efficient. I was in and out without an hour and they accommodated my specific time request because of my work schedule. It's cool that Dr. Patel is a fellow UGA grad. We love talking football when I'm able to talk in between the exams and cleanings. The cleanliness of the office and the high tech equipment always seems to amaze me. My old dentist used to require multiple appointments for a crown and now I can see that it's done in a single visit here. My entire immediate family has now become patients of this office. My cousin who lives over an hour away drove here to have her wisdom teeth pulled and thanked me later for referring them here. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new dentist in the east Cobb area. Even worth a drive to this office. There is a trader joes next door that I always stop by. read more

I had a similar bad experience as several of the reviewers. **** Do Not Go here. **** They are upsellers, overchargers and do not have your dental health as their priority, only their bottom line. They perform services that aren't even covered by typical dental insurance. They miscode normal cleaning and x-ray procedures that end up not being covered by insurance. They coded x-rays as an orthodontia treatment. I had 2 previous crowns done by other dentists and Dr. Patel did the third one in March of this year. It is substandard. I cannot chew on that crown and it is highly sensitive to any temperature changes. Also, the crown is one that they make in house the same day you are there. It takes most of the day, not the 2-3 hours they state and cost more than a traditional crown. I had to fight diligently with the Emma in their office. She was unresponsive and difficult to work with. My insurance provider was able to get a resolution completed. Be warned if you go here. Bring your checkbook and prepare for substandard dentistry work. read more

They also have no respect for their patients' time. So if you don't mind doing their work for them and being treated on an assembly line it is probably not a bad place to go. I went there twice. I picked the location because it was close to my house. The first time everyone was pleasant and had a good cleaning. Location is nice. I did not like the 'extras' they want you to pay for out of pocket. The second time I went for routine cleaning, though no cavities were found, She recommended a deeper cleaning which was told was good for gingivitis, I had to pay out of pocket. She wanted to exchange fillings that I had long ago for crowns, and 'because wisdom teeth are back there and hard to brush' she recommended removing them as well. I got a whole itemized pricing on those things even though I did not want them or needed them. Even though I told them I was not interested I got several phone calls to schedule the appointment with the oral surgeon for these procedures, which in fact were not indicated. Beware of the extras they 'recommend'. I went somewhere else, and was told all of those things were not necessary as I expected. It felt like taking your car for an oil change, and the mechanic trying to change brakes, tires, and multiple things that are not necessary. Basically, they treat it all as business model, but not as a patient. Very shady, on the surface very clean and organized, but not at all what it should be. read more

I went in for a procedure to get a crown on my left tooth, however the denist was adamant about me getting both front teeth done even though there was nothing wrong with my right tooth and it already had a crown on it and I felt like the denist was trying to up sale to make more money. I agreed to do the procedure however the denist never told me that there was a high chance of failure due to the underlying condition of my right tooth or I would have never done the procedure on my right tooth. So after the procedure was done not even a few days had past and my right tooth just came out. I went back to the denist and they put the tooth back in only to fall out again the next day. This is one of my front teeth which I have to work in a professional environment. I reached out tho the denist and they are blaming me stating I knew of the risk which I was never made aware of. I have tried since July 2022 to correspond with the denist office to resolve this matter however they are not taking responsibility. This situation has caused me a lot of inconvenience, distress, depression, money, and stress as it has altered my entire appearance. I have a full email thread of the dental office being accountable and trying to reduce my bill by making me sign a release document which would take away my rights. Dr. Patel needs more training when doing these type of procedures and needs to learn how to take accountability. I would not refer anyone to this office. read more

About six months ago I cracked my rear right molar I've been in extraordinary pain for months. I'd contacted many dental offices all telling me I needed financing that they wouldn't do anything except for a root canal. It took me 5 minutes to explain my situation. Even less time for them to explain their cost. Fantastic Pricing. Of course they try to talk me into getting a root canal. but when I told them "no, pull it" they understood and did it with no hesitation. Most dentist would argue up and down not to pull it. I've been coming here for my annual check up and teeth cleaning every since I moved back to metro Atlanta, and I don't think I'll change dentists unless I move out of the area. I see Dr. Lee, who pays incredible attention to scrubbing and cleaning your teeth, give useful and practical recommendations, and is just overall a very pleasant human being! She always makes my visit very relaxing, and I am always made aware of anything I should expect prior to it happening (which is super important for a dentist visit to me!) I had another horrible experiences and I am so afraid to allow a dentist to look into my mouth or do anything. The time I was here I was so happy to be apart of this team as a patient and everything went south the first day. Kim told me what she was going to do and that is clean my teeth, which she did a horrible job of that. Later she came back told me to open my mouth and she started sawing my second tooth the top. I was just told I had to wait for an orthodontist (even had to put down 50.00 as a deposit, after giving them 1200.00) even the person behind me was trying to figure the thing out and the next thing she knows she is being told to make a cap for my tooth. I felt like holler and telling her did you read my paperwork, all of you are scaring the hell out of me, but I did not want to have any negative vibes from them, because you could tell KIM seem upset with how she was treating later. You know at first she would explain and now she rushing back and forth looking confused and I am trying to keep happy thoughts in my head. Some 1 else in the back was going to pull my tooth the second one and I did not want anyone upset with me. While KIM is doing something I did not expect her to do nor did she warn me, I am feeling so uncomfortable with her and she is just going at it, at one point I had my legs up gripping the seat. I am really feeling I've made a huge error and giving them permission to do the work in my mouth. PART 2). I am being told to go toward the front and the surgery to pull my tooth. I was told 11:30, but she came to get me at 11:15 and told me they are ready for me. Once back there they had me to take a seat and the lady put the mask on me to help me relax, but once she checked my blood pressure it was very high and I knew why... my experience with the other team was so heart wrenching. The assistant told him my pressure is high and at one point it was going down but the assistant wants it down more. Now, After 3 attempts of checking my blood pressure he came in to pull my tooth and when he put the instrument into my mouth I heard the tooth cracking and my legs went into the air and here I m in my mind praying to Jesus to help me and to help him. But, he was pissed and threw the tool on the tray, which had me extremely nervous and scared. I was finally told I would have to come back and I am disappointed that all I received for an 8 am appointment is half clean teeth. Part 3) I returned for the ORTHODONTIST and this turned into a tragedy for me and my husband was getting bent out of shape and he wasn't helpful due to the fact he was looking at his phone and I was telling him I am scared. The assistant told me my pressure was up. I am dealing with the death of my daughter in The Army, and my mom and dad's death let just say grief is real. When one of the assistants (lady) came back told me my pressure is up very high and I smile. I knew she wasn't being upfront with me in the beginning because if she had told me this they would need to make another arrangement and I say this is because I called them to cancel due to my family's grief. She did explain to me that sometimes we expect a little nervous. CHECKED AGAIN AND STILL HIGH. This time a young man came in to check and he was absolutely wonderful and I wish he had been the one to give me a distraction and once he checked he told me it's high and went to let them know. The young lady at the desk come in to tell me they will not be able to work on me due to high blood pressure and I had to get my doctor to fill out some paper. Now granted I am not on medication for "HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE", I FELT WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME AND WANTED TO CANCELLED THE YOUNG LADY TOLD ME I WOULD LOSE MY *50.00 ( AND ONCE I HAD ASKED HER ABOUT MY FIFTY DOLLARS BEING REFUND BACK SHE TOLD ME SHE WILL KEEP IT. I thought a deposit is supposed to return back. Back to the biggest disappointment, the ORTHODONTIST did not pop in at any time to talk or to reassure me or my husband about anything. After getting home I looked back on this as being a cash cow for them and she did not have any empathy toward me at all. I cried for a day and called them back to request a refund and they started stalling with. I put in a complaint with my credit card. Although, after talking to Karen she told me she would get back with me on Monday and she did and told me they will charge me 300 and something. I said thank you gave her a complaint but I did not agree with the amount either. I felt services from them cleaning (messing and not done with the best intentions) tooth pull ( surgery was pissed off because of my pressure and I told the assistant to apologize to him and she told me I owe him nothing. Sawing down my tooth and putting a cap (a complete mess on the outer side of the cap is not smooth so it's biting into the side of my mouth rough). The drilling by Dr. Patel was executed with steady hand and a constant checking to make sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. Went today with my husband who had a crown done at this location for 1600$ crown fell out only after 365 days , needless to say this was CHEAP work at full price . Overall they examined his mouth & tried to charge us 4K for 1 tooth with $450 deduction. This place is a rip off & they claim to back you for 5 years if you get a crown but this is a lie . They did not back their policy one bit & their work was CHEAP . They were suppose to clean all decay & remove the root from root canal which they obviously did not do .
