Marshall Appliance Repair - A look at the inside of our dryer while it was being serviced.

We had a dryer making noise and not drying well. We contacted Marshall's through Yelp and setup an…read moreappointment. Tim was slightly late, but well within the window set up. He got right to work, cleaned the dryer well and replaced some drum parts that had worn down. He also cleaned the vent again and got up on the roof to verify hot air was flowing from the vent while the dryer was in use. Even though he didn't arrive on the hour, he still spent the two full hours making sure the dryer was working its best. He left everything clean. Overall, we are very pleased with the results and will call them again for other appliance repairs.

I have to say that Tim did a great job on our appliances. We called Marshall Appliance Repair…read morebecause our washing machine stopped running mid-cycle. The door locked so we couldn't even get the clothes out. Honestly, we were fully expecting to be told that our washing machine wasn't worth fixing and we should just buy a new one. In a couple of hours, Tim got it running again like new. After that good experience, we asked Tim to do a regular service on our dryer. He was so thorough. I was surprised to see the whole drum removed. Even more surprised to see the amount of lint hidden inside the machine. The vent underneath our microwave had not worked in years. We'd had many repair people try to fix it in the past but with no success. Tim figured out the problem and fixed it very quickly. On top of everything else Tim was a very nice and conscientious professional. We'll definitely be calling him again next time we need an appliance repaired.

These guys are the best that we have worked with, they have helped us out over the past 5 years…read moresince owning our home and have installed our dishwasher, helped us out with our heating in the house and most recently helped us with our fridge that got fried by another company's work. They didn't even charge us to come inspect the fridge after making time for us that day, then talked with the previous company to help have them cover the repairs, and are actively helping us find a replacement within the budget. Going to be going through them for everything going forward, I definitely recommend you do the same.

Initially this father/son business appeared good although it took them a few days to get to me so I…read morelost a good deal of food that had to be thrown out. they came from Albuquerque to los Alamos to fix my refrigerator. They said they usually come up on Tuesdays and Fridays. They did a quick diagnosis at no charge, this was on a Friday. They purchased a timer on MONDAY, came back up late Tuesday and installed the timer, $370.00. Was glad to have refrigerator again so went to smiths and stocked up again. The fridge was nice and cold but after a cycle it stopped getting cold again. I called them in panic but they said they couldn't get back to me until the next week, so I lost another $150+ in food again. They said a cold controller this time needed to be replaced but couldn't get the part until the following Monday. I accidentally tapped the cold controller (the THERMOSTAT) while placing my water bottle onto the top shelf. The Fridge came back on. So they confirmed that it needed to be replaced. I kept tapping the Thermostat (what they were calling the "cold control" every 4hrs for about 5days to save my food. but because I had to sleep it shut off in the middle of the night and I lost much of my frozen food again (the third time). The following Monday they contacted me saying that the Thermostat was no longer available so the Fridge can't be repaired. Sorry Buddy you're out of luck. Try placing "Duct tape over the cold control.. , were they kidding? My son was surprised that SEARS PARTS wouldn't have a replacement part. My son contacted SEARS PARTS. They had the Thermostat. I texted ADAM from The Appliance Guys, Co. with the information on the part. They confirmed it, I ordered it, it arrived two days later on a Thursday which was lucky since they come to Los Alamos on Fridays. I let them know I had the part. They said they'd be here the next day late afternoon. The next day on Friday, they contacted me to say that they had a cancellation by another person in Santa Fe. So, IT WASANT WORTH IT TO THEM TO COME UP TO JUST REPAIR MY REFRIGERATOR. "Great customer service?? " really? As a customer I'm not worth it to them??? Maybe next week?? Meanwhile the Fridge stopped working again, lost more food. they never returned and would not respond to my texts/calls! Consequently, I had to wait another week for SEARS REPAIR TECH to come finish the job, more lost food and another $225.00. The SEARS Tech swapped out the "actual faulty part" with the one my son found from SEARS PARTS DIRECT. The Tech also found loose screws, and missed timer adjustments. Avoid these "Guys" at all costs. Just call SEARS or I've heard DNS repair is good. So, it's off to SMALL CLAIMS COURT we go! Unless I receive a refund and get all the costs of lost food back from Joe and Adam..., "The Appliance Guys". PS, I'm 75, don't need that type of bullshit! Oh yes "No Senior Discount offered" either!!

I first learned of this place because my parents bought a washing machine for a housewarming gift…read morefrom here. 3 years later its still going strong. Naturally I ignored the bad reviews and came in when my dishwasher went out. I'll share with you my experience, and let you decide for yourself. On friday we buy the ge dishwasher, its on the top shelf and I dont look inside. We load it quickly and its in my truck before my wife finishes paying. I go to install it saturday morning. To my dismay there is quite a mess inside, debris, screws, washers, and a ton of scale mixed with the previous owners schmutz. I clean the filter basket, vacuum the machine dilligently and begin the install. Once complete, I use a descaling agent and run it, only it simply fills, heats up for a while, and drains. Never does it spin the bar. I wait until monday to be able to call for service as they are closed all weekend long. Monday rolls around and I call to find out my options, which are to pay 60$ for a tech, or to uninstall it and bring it back myself. Which I do. I drop the machine off at 11:30, and by 15:00 I'm called to come get it, the motor had been unplugged. I'm asked if I unplugged it, no I did not, it must have been overlooked on the install, just like a quick vacuum and test run seemed to have been. It comes with a warranty, which was honored, and I recieved same day service. For that I cannot complain. The 4 stars instead of 5 are for the conditions of the inside of the machine, the fact it was not ready to install, and the disgusting layers caked into the filter. The machine works, the price was fair, and the repair was free. Though I own a truck and this was possible for me, for someone less fortunate this situation would have been a 120$ nightmare to arrange in transportation of the equipment.

Since we originally purchased the dryer from them they have a policy that if you need it fixed after the warranty then they would only charge for parts? Sounds great right? They tried over charging for the part. They had told me it was going to be $250. I looked up the part (the specific part for the type of dryer) and it was showing for eighty to a hundred bucks.... I texted them asking to show me what catalog, link or place they were getting it from and the photo is the response I got. Went back to get the dryer. They kept the deposit which from the looks of the place they need it more than I do.
