Bought a Frigidaire freezer at this place, even with the bad reviews about 100 days ago. Discount for cash, my decision. Of course it came with a 90 day warranty just expired, but I would have had to transport anyway and pay part of the bill. I cleaned it up and since this quality outfit didn't even replace the missing handle, I bought one. Since its "frost free" it shuts off and warms 20 degrees or so periodically, then restarts. Well 2 days ago it didnt re-start and got into the 30's so I moved the meats and valuables to another I had luckily and didnt lose anything. No trust now so had to buy another freezer, new with a real warranty. I saw there was a small dial next to the compressor and turned it clockwise, the compressor which had been off started and re-cooled to -20. OK, but now I wanted to know if I should keep/depend on it so I drove to CA and talked to the "tech". I explained what I just typed in a non confrontational way since I could have lost 100's in meat, and did have to re-purchase after less than 4 mo. This individual who even though I asked for nothing and kept it professional (initially) evidentially felt threatened by having a real human ask questions like what is this device (the defrost timer) and by turning it clockwise what did I do? Complete unhinged meltdown and fail to deal with a paying customer who trusted them with a sale. Take a chance like I did if you want, do not expect any professionalism once you take delivery, just hope for the best- who knows you may get lucky if the piece was not too far gone before they re-habbed it? they probably work with the city to take throw-aways when we put them out on the street, like I almost did! My tenant in Abq. needed a stove. I am in CA. I called and purchased a self-cleaning stove over the phone for my tenant. When it was delivered my tenant sent me a photo of the dirty oven, but it was too late to refuse because my tenant accepted it. I called Joe to complain and he said to call again next week. The next day gas had built up in the kitchen. I had to call my handyman to disconnect the stove and I had to purchase another. I called again for a refund and to take away the dirty broken stove. Joe refuses to pick it up and give me a refund. He also hung up on me and I was very civil on the phone. No reason to hang up on me. I have disputed the purchase with my bank. It stopped working, I paid them for pick up and delivery for the warranty repair. 2 weeks later the same problem occurred and I was told it was not covered. Our friend purchased a freezer on my behalf and was assured that it was in good shape. Apparently he didn't actually see it and went on their word. The unit arrived and it was horribly dented and scratched, worse yet it still had nasty moldy food inside and was never cleaned. I declined delivery and the delivery crew started cussing at me and tried to intimidate me. When they were done with that, they told me good luck getting my money back. I called the Manager and he refused to listen to my complaints, said where do we want it delivered and basically blew me off. I said I didn't want it, I wanted my money back and he said good luck! I first learned of this place because my parents bought a washing machine for a housewarming gift from here. 3 years later its still going strong. Naturally I ignored the bad reviews and came in when my dishwasher went out. I'll share with you my experience, and let you decide for yourself. On friday we buy the ge dishwasher, its on the top shelf and I dont look inside. We load it quickly and its in my truck before my wife finishes paying. I go to install it saturday morning. To my dismay there is quite a mess inside, debris, screws, washers, and a ton of scale mixed with the previous owners schmutz. I clean the filter basket, vacuum the machine dilligently and begin the install. Once complete, I use a descaling agent and run it, only it simply fills, heats up for a while, and drains. Never does it spin the bar. I wait until monday to be able to call for service as they are closed all weekend long. Monday rolls around and I call to find out my options, which are to pay 60$ for a tech, or to uninstall it and bring it back myself. Which I do. I drop the machine off at 11:30, and by 15:00 I'm called to come get it, the motor had been unplugged. I'm asked if I unplugged it, no I did not, it must have been overlooked on the install, just like a quick vacuum and test run seemed to have been. It comes with a warranty, which was honored, and I recieved same day service. For that I cannot complain. The 4 stars instead of 5 are for the conditions of the inside of the machine, the fact it was not ready to install, and the disgusting layers caked into the filter. The machine works, the price was fair, and the repair was free. Though I own a truck and this was possible for me, for someone less fortunate this situation would have been a 120$ nightmare to arrange in transportation of the equipment. read more

I bought one 20" gas range, one 30" electric range and a Roper fridge. The manager (Joe, in Albuquerque, NM) promised me the 30" range would be washed (I asked what RTC sticker on the range meant. He said it was Ready to Clean so I believed him it would be washed soon) and the seal in the fridge would be fixed (the seal was damaged on the upper right hand corner and caused fridge a little leak). They delivered all three items on the following Monday. The "RTC" sticker was still on the range and fridge seal was still damaged un-touched. The delivery guy called the manager to find out what we could do about the seal for the fridge particularly (because it was for the upstairs so a lot of trouble to move it up then I will need to move it down and drive it to the store for repair). The manager was not answering his phone so I called then he said there wasn't any sticker and seal was fixed no problem. The total liar and irresponsible. He also told me I would need to pay another $65 delivery fee if I returned it to the store to fix the seal. Is this reasonable at ALL..!!! I have not tested the gas range. Hopefully it would be the only one not having any issue. Additionally my impression on all three items were having much damages, such as dents on the side of fridge, and both ranges. They looked better in the store. Just want to remind you of taking pictures if you are not taking them on the day you purchase it or take it right away if you are finding anything you like there. The reason I am posting this review is trying to get the attention of the owner. I am also a business owner and I really disagree any customers being treated this way. Not ethical. I really felt the world was falling apart from the experience with the manger (Joe.). Joe was just trying to get me buy those three appliances with no intention to clean or fix the problem he promised.. He immediately turned to a rude person totally unprofessional as a store manager when I called him for the problems. I purchased another gas range from the store few months ago. I moved it myself on the same day and no problem on that one. My washer failed just before Christmas, and I went on craigslist to find a quick used replacement, I ended up at this shop on Central. I bought a used washer with a 'Warranty" from the shop, a Kenmore, for $207.00 The spin motor stopped working just 3 weeks later after I ran the third load (I am a single guy, not much laundry). I called for them to honor their warranty, and I was told it would cost me 65 dollars for them to come look at it, the warranty only applied if I unhooked the washer, loaded it into a truck, and hauled it back to them. I still have not been able to find a time they will come look at it either, I lose money if am not working, and they only have visit times during my work time, so it will cost me even more. Under other circumstances, if the washer had lasted at least a few months before stopping I probably would be more accepting, but since I had barely started using it I would think they would offer quicker service at no cost. I feel I basically have bought a lemon of a used washer and they are looking to unscrupulously make more money off of the sale. I don't have either 207.00 dollars or 65 dollars to throw away on an uncertain result, and I expect I will just buy new and make payments, because bottom line, I still need a washer. I would strongly suggest you do business somewhere else if you need a working appliance from a reputable company. My story: Purchased a washer and dryer on Saturday, paid for delivery, received Monday. Today is Wednesday. The washer seems to work well but the dryer is not working--I suspect a problem with the thermal fuse and a possible timer issue. I called for repair Wednesday and I was told that this company would not send out a repair person. I live literally around the corner, a 5 minute drive away. They told me they would schedule a pick up for an additional $65 even though it is clear this appliance was delivered broken. I went to the store and talked to Joe Castillo, the owner, about this issue. I found him to be incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful, hostile, and completely unwilling to acknowledge that his company had made any mistake at all. I argued my case and he reluctantly agreed to send a repair person to my house to look at the dryer. The repair person confirmed the dryer was broken and left to report back. Joe then called me to say I must deliver the appliance myself to his store to have it repaired. I don't own a pickup truck and I believe the contract I agreed to was that Appliance Central was to deliver me a working dryer which they have not yet done. I told Joe the only remedy I want is a full refund and that his driver collect the defective equipment. The owner refuses to issue a refund, even for defective equipment which was sold as working not even 48 hours ago. I want a refund. Our two year old dishwasher stopped working. Appliance Central sent a technician out to replace the drain pump. The dishwasher continued to malfunction. The tech returned and stated "there was plastic debris in the pump." He removed the debris and said it should now work. The dishwasher still didn't work. We've been calling for a week and can't get anyone to come back out to the house. Everyone who answers the phone says they have to check with the owner, Joe, before sending someone out. Joe won't call back. Today, I finally got Joe on the phone and he told me the malfunction is unrelated to the original problem despite the fact that it has never worked since they supposedly fixed it. Worst customer service imaginable. We bought a dryer yesterday and were told delivery today would be between 10am and noon but that they'd work with our schedule. We let them know this morning that my fiancé had to leave for work at noon so we needed it even just a few minutes before that (like..11:45 even). Wouldn't have been an issue but they had requested that someone be here to help the delivery guy carry the dryer up to our second floor apartment. So around 11:15 I call "Joe" who I guess is the manager/owner. He tells me the delivery guy has been calling my fiancé. I confirm the number they have for him, it's wrong (he admits this is their fault). He tells me the guy is "almost there" and will be at our home within 15 minutes, and that he'll make sure the guy gets our correct phone number. At 11:55 no delivery guy, and Joe isn't answering his phone so I call the store. The incredibly rude woman who answers refuses to listen to me when I say we were told by Joe that the guy should've been here 30 minutes ago, and just keeps insisting that since they're still "within the time frame" I have no reason to be angry. Turns out they never gave the delivery guy the correct number so he had no way to contact us or find our apartment. But she just kept talking over me instead of listening to my concerns and getting the issue solved. My fiancé ended up having to be late for work because of their total incompetence. So yeah. We bought the dryer from them for convenience but Craigslist would have been less of a headache. Wish we'd checked Yelp first for other options, looks like there are other local appliance stores with far better reviews, go with those and avoid this place. read more

We purchased a refurbished washing machine 2 weeks ago. Works well on heavy loads. Today I had a delicate item to wash, set the machine and went to do other chores. Walked in the laundry room and the machine was still filling and flooded out all over the floor, which is carpeted. I called the shop and spoke to the manager, Joe. He wanted another $45 to come to the house and fix the machine. I told him no, we paid 240.00 for a refurbished machine that damaged our wood panel walls and carpeting and I felt it was his responsibility to provide the necessary customer service. He said I broke the machine and that he did not sell me a damaged machine. Then he hung up on me. I called back and asked, did you just hang up on me? His response was yes. You broke the machine. This is the worst business I have ever been in contact with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I have never written a yelp review but I've never been so disappointed with anyone before, and the world needs to avoid their business like the plague. They fixed my broken drier a few months ago (due to heat malfunction) for $125 (more than I originally paid for it) and gave me a 90 day warranty, which I appreciated. I did not have access to a truck so I drove all the way down to the shop, and had to pay $45 to have them come to my house on Kirtland air force base at 10am the next day. 10:30 rolls around, I called the shop, no answer, at 11am I receive a call from their shop (this is the owner I have been dealing with the whole time) and he says they would not let him on base with his work order (which is bullshit...they do it all the time) so he drove back to his shop and didn't bother to call me while on my side of town. I called him out on it, telling him I was very unhappy with his service and not only would I like to be refunded but I would like some compensation for the inconvenience, HE HUNG UP ON ME. I called the shop again and spoke to a young woman who was very helpful and re-charged my credit card (thank god I didn't pay cash). Now I am stuck with a broken drier which they REFUSED to fix and I have to move to Alaska in 2 days. Talk about a wasted $225 that I have nothing to show for. The drier is now going to the dump. It was about to be finished; when I started to test the appliances in the kitchen I found out that the dishwasher didn't start. I also needed to install the washer and dry and the stove. I called Central Appliances and ask if they could do this job even that not all the appliances to install were bought there. The same day, they send the technician. John did a good job; what a guy; respectful, friendly, very knowledgeable. In no time with no more help that his own abilities, he had everything running smoothly; he made his recommendations which I followed exactly as he advised me and then, every thing was fine and ready to go.
