The Yelp form seemed to have some issues going through; not sure if it was a Yelp issue or vendor issue, so that's why I went to the vendor's website directly, and attempted their webform. As of now, it's been numerous business days with no reply. I see from other reviews that my experience appears to be outside the norm, so that's unfortunate.

Yeah, one of those. So about fifty suppressed swear words later, I'm on the phone with The Other Guy, and we're booked for a short window the next day. He jumped right in and dismantled the entire thing to clean it out, test out parts, and make sure he got it right. He showed me how the burner was glowing too hot, which means we'd just be replacing it again in a handful of months. We tested and tried different things on it, and he landed on an airflow issue (in addition to already fixing the broken part), and shortened our exhaust duct. He stuck around to make sure this fix was it and was going to take, and it's been humming ever since. I also found his pricing fair, and will go to him again (but good lord hopefully not for a while, we've had enough of these things this year). On last note -- just call him. I know. I want to send the message and hope it works out, but I think it's easier and more likely to happen if you just call on this one.
