TL;DR: the microwave was FIXED in less than 24 hours from my call to have them out! They were super easy to schedule with, and offered next-day service. Unlike a prior vendor who worked on the same part on the same microwave who required multiple visits, Able was able to perform the initial evaluation, diagnose the issue, and FIX the issue on a single trip, avoiding lengthy delays in a KEY appliance for our family! Lastly, and maybe even more lovely than the prompt and excellent servce: they came in under half the cost of last year's vendor! He ordered the replacement part and came back out a couple days after the part was delivered. He installed the part within a couple hours, probably closer to an hour. The cost for labor was very reasonable, and then the cost of the part completed the total amount billed. With this fix, the fridge/freezer should last another five years. I started to worry I needed to buy a new one when I couldn't find the replacement part online. I'm glad J & J was able to get the part and fix in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable price.

I moved into a new home 14 months ago. After the year warranty was up on the built in microwave, it blew a fuse. Dye's friendly tech replaced the fuse and the problem causing the fuse to blow. The builder placed the outlet in a position that crimped the cord to the power. Dye's tech moved the outlet to a safer area which eliminated the problem.

Ok, close it down folks, I've found my new appliance repair guy for the foreseeable future…read more I had started down the YouTube instructional video.. you know the ones that make everything look incredibly easy, but then it turns out it's a marginally different model of dryer and completely changes the whole equation? Yeah, one of those. So about fifty suppressed swear words later, I'm on the phone with The Other Guy, and we're booked for a short window the next day. He jumped right in and dismantled the entire thing to clean it out, test out parts, and make sure he got it right. He showed me how the burner was glowing too hot, which means we'd just be replacing it again in a handful of months. We tested and tried different things on it, and he landed on an airflow issue (in addition to already fixing the broken part), and shortened our exhaust duct. He stuck around to make sure this fix was it and was going to take, and it's been humming ever since. I also found his pricing fair, and will go to him again (but good lord hopefully not for a while, we've had enough of these things this year). On last note -- just call him. I know. I want to send the message and hope it works out, but I think it's easier and more likely to happen if you just call on this one.

I woke up this morning and my fridge was not working. I started calling around but kept striking…read moreout trying to find someone to diagnose the issue so that I could decide if a new fridge was needed or if mine was repairable. I found Tager just via online search and called. I appreciated that an actual person answered and was able to get someone out quickly. They sent a text when the technician was on the way. The technician was very nice, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, they weren't able to repair the issue due to no fault of their own. The fridge was old and just done. The technician went above and beyond to answer my additional questions and gave me some advice regarding my new fridge that I now need to purchase. They charge $98 to come out which I feel is reasonable. If you get a repair, they waive the service charge. As a single woman I appreciate the honesty and service that I received. I will definitely call them again if I need any more assistance with my appliances and I definitely recommend them.

(What does that even mean? They have delayed by sending their "service" people, I suppose being paid by Scotsman warranty, to fix a unit that can't be fixed,) Now they are saying they offered at last repair appointment to take the unit in to be repaired. That is not true. We were going out of town to our son's wedding for a month and would have been happy for them to take it while we were gone and repair or replace. They did not offer that. And now, they say they have "turned it over to Scotsman," are delaying further. We bought it from them, it never worked, we want a replacement. They can deal with Scotsman, that is not our responsibility. They sold us a new unit that never worked.

He was told that the slip of paper with our address and phone number had been misplaced. My husband had texted Tom, so we thought he had my husband's number in his phone. I called to ask if they could give us a discount on the $120 delivery fee due to the mix-up, but Tom told my husband that instead he would find some other way to compensate us. He was very apologetic. The delivery team came the next day, and they were even a little early. They hauled away our old washer/dryer. Unfortunately, we had not measured the new washer/dryer, and they did not fit down our basement stairs. The delivery team did try their very best to move them down, but it just didn't work. It was definitely our fault for not measuring beforehand. We went back to Mr Fix It to exchange the set for a new washer/dryer set. Luckily, they had one ready that would fit. Unfortunately, we had to pay another $120 moving fee (though again it was our fault for not measuring first). Tom also said that he normally charges a 20% restocking fee, but that he would waive this restocking fee due to the circumstances. Moral of the story-measure first! The delivery guys said they didn't have the right part to set-up the new washer and dryer that evening, so they returned the next day with the right part to set it up. The washer and dryer are both working fine now. Overall, I would say that while our experience was a little complicated, we would recommend Mr Fix It if you are looking for reasonably-priced appliances.
