They charged $2500 up front but never did respond when I asked what that money would cover. After waiting a week with no answer, since I was in a hurry to resolve my tax problem, I just paid it. I wish I hadn't. Over more than a year, they took weeks to respond to messages, and getting them to actually do any work was like pulling teeth. I had lost my records when my business closed down, so I needed them to reconstruct my financial picture from that year (the main reason I had a tax issue and something another accountant had told me could be done). Instead they simply asked me to estimate the numbers, which they used to fill out the tax forms and make the calculations. Big whoop. If I could do that myself, what was I paying them for? It certainly wasn't worth $2500, the hundreds I had to pay to give them power of attorney, or the $700 more they demanded to actually file the past-due returns. They wanted even more to dissolve the business, file another return, etc., but I stopped it there. When I had questions, I couldn't get answers. They would just not respond. And when I called to speak to Mr. Badran directly, I was polite but couldn't get a full sentence out. He would interrupt every time I tried to speak, but he never actually said anything. He didn't explain what they were doing or why, just rambled about nothing. In the end, I paid over $3000 just to file two old returns, and it took me more than a year and a ridiculous amount of mental anguish and frustration. I've really held back on how angry I am here. Please don't waste your time and money.

Between 2014 and 2016, I visited or called a number of tax professionals along the Route 1 corridor throughout Highland Park, Metuchen, Edison, and Woodbridge. Each year, I looked for assistance with my income tax returns. Unfortunately, since I don't have a particularly complicated situation, many CPAs dismissed me as a customer. I cannot tell you how many tax professionals denied me their time, telling me they only work with individuals with complex situations; they kept recommending I head over to H&R Block or just use Turbo Tax. The tax professionals who did accept my business in 2014 and 2015 completed my tax returns in as little as 5-7 minutes, just skimming over my documents and submitting returns without even having a conversation with me as a client. As someone with a couple of tax-related inquiries who wanted to make sure I proceeded correctly, I knew I had to find someone new in 2016 who would take me seriously as a client. Nailesh did a wonderful job. When I called his office, he scheduled a same-day appointment with me and met with me for an hour. We held a one-hour initial consultation in which he reviewed my paperwork thoroughly and asked me a series of questions which immediately proved his thoroughness, his precision, and his commitment to his customers. Additionally, as questions arose throughout the process of preparing the returns, Nailesh texted me to ask follow-up questions to ensure the accuracy of my returns. While working on my 2016 return, Nailesh noticed an inaccuracy that carried back two years to my 2014 returns (likely a result of the rushed and haphazard service I got at other tax preparation offices). He amended a number of my state and federal returns, gaining me not only piece of mind but a steady stream of small (but not unappreciated!) checks with some extra money I had not been anticipating. At the end of the process, he invited me in for a final appointment to review my returns and explain his calculations, a step in the process which I very much appreciated. He also charged fair and reasonable rates, especially considering he spent three times as much time with me as many of his competitors in the area would have! After 3 days of no response and no movement, I called again and was told they'd trace it and would call me with the status. I called again last week and was told to put in a claim -- which I cannot do since I am not the shipping originator. I understand that packages are lost, but FEDEX has been totally unresponsive and never got back to me. The people answering the phone were politely aloof and did not care that this was an important medical test. I have dealt with UPS which has been 100% reliable and have even been more satisfied with the much maligned USPS.
