So, ok you did nothing to make the customer satisfied or understand what is going on in the situation at the given time, which was your responsibility, not the customer. The customer is completely helpless to you calling for the first time. How would the customer know whose name when you don't say it when politely asked? The customer was forced to guess!!!! Taking advantage of people like you did of the customer's family in that given moment - you had a choice and you choose to do what was not right. Plain and simple. It is done, you cannot go back and make light of it and accuse the customer of wrong-doing and believe you are making it better? Well you can It is your choice, but you are not free from a customer writing a review especially when they feel the disservice. Clearly people calling you are most likely having a bad day and you also take advantage of this in your actions, of their vulnerability. And as a forced customer, I am not impressed with your response in attempt to make it sound like you did the right thing when you did not. In fact, it is very icky. Very yucky. Even the last sentence of have a nice day is not honest. My final review to people If you want to be treated with respect and dignity on a bad day, definitely DO NOT go to Gateway if you can help it, there are other options.

I wish I could give Luis 10 stars!…read more Long story long, my husband and I were stuck in an unsafe spot on I-80 at mile marker 230 in Iowa City when a red warning light came on. Our van's coolant was dry even after adding a whole 3.27 liter bottle. We called AAA and scheduled a tow and received a 2 1/2 hour estimate. After waiting the 2 1/2 hours, we called to ask when they would arrive and was told they cannot provide one because no contracted companies accepted the job. I became absolutely hysterical thinking about the possibility of having to wait further especially when it got dark! I was told to call Teo's Towing and spoke with Luis who kept calm as I was hysterically crying thinking I would have to be on the freeway another few hours until he could get a driver to us. Meanwhile, my husband started the van and began backing up to the freeway on-ramp entrance, which freaked me out even more! Luis was patient with me staying on the phone about 10 minutes as my husband slowly and carefully backed us totally off! Luis was actually 60 miles away but was ready to come get us but was fine with us calling around to see if we could find a local tow truck company which we were fortunate to find. I made sure to call Luis to thank him for his patience and support that he provided. Thank you so much Luis!

I spent thousands of dollars with Ace trying to make my MINI safe and reliable for myself and my…read morechild. I specifically expressed concerns about its safety and relied on their inspections, repairs, and reassurances that the vehicle was safe to drive. Ace performed a multipoint inspection on July 24 and did not document a coolant leak. My car was subsequently back at Ace for additional repairs and diagnostics, and I returned it again on August 20 because I was concerned about noises and a brake warning. It was returned to me around August 28. No coolant leak was documented to me during these visits. Only a few weeks later, on September 27, my MINI suddenly overheated and began stalling. I got safely off the road and had it towed to Ace. Their own diagnostic report states the vehicle arrived "BONE DRY ON COOLANT" and that their pressure test found the oil filter housing/oil cooler leaking coolant. They then told me the head gasket had failed and the vehicle needed an engine. When I asked the owner what Ace could do to help, I was told they were not responsible, accused of continuing to drive the vehicle while it was overheating, and told to remove it from their property. I dispute that account and have timestamped documentation from the incident. After posting my one-star review, Niki texted me personally. She again blamed me for the engine damage, stated that I "had no coolant leaks before this," told me my review affected her monthly bonus, and told me I was "fired as a customer." I understand that cars can develop new problems. What I cannot get past is that my vehicle spent a significant amount of time at this shop, I spent thousands trying to make it dependable, and within weeks of getting it back I was left with a vehicle that Ace itself documented as bone dry on coolant with an identified coolant leak and catastrophic engine damage. I have preserved the vehicle, repair records, diagnostic reports, photos, videos, and timestamped communications, and the matter is being reviewed through my insurance claim. I genuinely wanted Ace to help me make my car safe and reliable. Instead, I am left without a functioning vehicle and deeply disappointed by how I was treated when I asked for help. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ace Auto Doctor.
