GO ELSEWHERE. I called this company for what I foolishly assumed was a fairly straightforward…read moretransaction: take broken truck, put truck on tow truck, bring truck to dealership. Apparently I was asking them to split the atom. Their intake person accepted the tow without bothering to get my name, payment information, or apparently enough information to complete the tow they had just agreed to perform. They obviously had my phone number--I CALLED THEM--and I also gave them my license plate number. Yet somehow they arrived at the dealership unable to tell them who the truck belonged to or give them my phone number. That's impressive. Miraculously, they managed to locate my truck. They even managed to find the dealership. They successfully transported one to the other. Then, approximately six feet from accomplishing the entire purpose of the business, they were out of ideas. Apparently nobody thought: "Hey, maybe give the dealership the phone number of the guy who called us?" Nope. These logistical visionaries had a better idea: TOW IT BACK. So their botched intake created a completely unnecessary second tow--which, in a breathtaking coincidence, I was expected to pay for. Then they wanted to charge me AGAIN to take it back to the dealership. Now we're getting somewhere. Screw up the intake. Fail to complete the job. Charge the customer for the failure. Then charge him again to fix it. Say what you will about the towing operation--the billing department appears to be functioning beautifully. When I challenged this nonsense, they accused me of avoiding payment and they repeatedly insisted they'd left me "multiple voicemails." Except they hadn't. Zero. Not one. I checked. Apparently their voicemails are like their successful deliveries: they insist they exist, but I couldn't find one. I finally paid for two tows just to get my truck away from this circus and hired their competitor to finish the job. And somehow, without a task force, a strategy session, or intervention from the National Guard, the other company managed to: pick up truck tow truck leave truck. Remarkable. Scientists will be studying the breakthrough for years.

So, ok you did nothing to make the customer satisfied or understand what is going on in the situation at the given time, which was your responsibility, not the customer. The customer is completely helpless to you calling for the first time. How would the customer know whose name when you don't say it when politely asked? The customer was forced to guess!!!! Taking advantage of people like you did of the customer's family in that given moment - you had a choice and you choose to do what was not right. Plain and simple. It is done, you cannot go back and make light of it and accuse the customer of wrong-doing and believe you are making it better? Well you can It is your choice, but you are not free from a customer writing a review especially when they feel the disservice. Clearly people calling you are most likely having a bad day and you also take advantage of this in your actions, of their vulnerability. And as a forced customer, I am not impressed with your response in attempt to make it sound like you did the right thing when you did not. In fact, it is very icky. Very yucky. Even the last sentence of have a nice day is not honest. My final review to people If you want to be treated with respect and dignity on a bad day, definitely DO NOT go to Gateway if you can help it, there are other options.
