I am a single divorced mom, and my income is stretched, so when I ran into an auto-repair problem, I needed a fast and affordable solution. I called around to several QCA auto repair shops to get an estimate. Some were off the charts ridiculously priced. I needed a simple used tire (I had) to be mounted to replace the blown out tire. I got an over the phone estimate and took the tire right down. I met Greg Poley~the owner and operator...of Grant Auto Repair, and he was awesome. He gave me a great price, and fixed my tire. He listened to my story of not having much, and that I knew work had to be done to my car, but I needed my car to limp by until tax time. Then I could start the "to do list" of repairs to my car. Also I got a job at the repair shop. He needed to be able to get into the bays to fix and work on cars but kept getting tied down because of the phone. I have watched the beauty of Gregs passion for old muscle and collector cars come and go, and non stop calls for his help or maintenance on those cars, and I get giddy just looking at history of the beautiful cars we get to watch, and he is truly a gifted mechanic. Both he and Josh have helped me with my car, and I can now say when my child is of driving age, instead of buying a used car, I can turn mine over to him and be comfortable in knowing I have a quality automobile for my baby boy. I will most likely need a re-built engine in 5 years as my car is a 1999 Ford, but I would rather put money into a new engine than buy a used car and have horrible surprises later. Plus my car has a great steel body, so if accidents should happen my son will be protected. Thank you Greg and Josh for guiding me with my car, and allowing me to work at your garage. Every person who gets their car fixed by our shop, comes back. Mom and Pop American business is alive in Bettendorf, IA. I have had several bad encounters with other repair places in the QCA, and I hate to say it...but ludicrous prices and being a single woman does exist to play havoc on a struggling single moms purse string!
