Levi came out the next day after we found a leak in the bathroom. He evaluated the situation & within days had replaced the copper pipe that was the culprit. He also replaced the shut off valves for the bathroom water lines because after 24 years they were worn out. I told him about the water shut off valve (the ball valve) wasn't working by the house & upon inspection he determined that that had to be replaced as well, I was discouraged about another issue but my wife & I agreed to replace that & the water pressure regulator. Look, it sucks thinking you need to replace just one thing to find out other things HAVE to be replaced, but I'd rather do that now while everything was accessible & not having to worry about if & when it does go out. My criticism is the price--I felt that $3,000 for replacing a residential water softener was on the expensive side compared to what I expected. I am so grateful when I moved to Hesperia in 2005 I saw a Johns truck and remembered them when I needed them. I can honestly tell you I have never met a more trustworthy business than Johns. A few years back when I had a massive water leak in my wall I called them in a panic and Joe was at my house in less than 30 minutes preventing damage to my drywall, my new floors and most importantly prevented any mold. Today I had my 16 year old water heater replaced with a tankless water heater, had two toilets replaced and a faucet replaced. Joe and his apprentice went above and beyond to get my family taken care of. They took all of the health precautions necessary to deal with COVID and while installing one of the toilets found a problem due to shoddy workmanship by the builder could have resulted in a massive problem. Joe came in, diagnosed the problem, and came up with a quick solution. Again...this level of service isn't something you find much anymore. So I called because my hot water heater was draining from the overflow, concerned that the tank may be under pressure and not being home to fix it (my girlfriend was home) I called Johns to fix it. They were fast getting there and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes. However, they quoted my girlfriend 250 dollars to replace a part that costs 30 dollars at home depot and were indeed already replacing it before she could call me about the cost. When she did get me on the phone with them they were pretty much done. I asked them how much the part was and why it was so expensive and the techs response was "I don't know we just grab it from the warehouse"..... Right. Then he said he'll drop the price from 270 to 250... How can he drop the price or even give an accurate price if he "doesn't know" how much it costs in the first place! And replace some faucet cartridges in the other bathroom. He charged my Dad $650. Way, way over priced. I had to call him back. I was nice to him. I had him come back and ream out the drain in the Master Bath bath tub. I should of asked for a refund and gone elsewhere to auger the bath tub. Surprisingly, when I first used him the week before they charged my Dad $650 to install a new sink, and garbage disposal and faucet. I thought that was fair. My elderly Hispanic landlord called to get information about quotes and wasn't responding in the manner John needed or quickly enough, so I called to get information. I explained the situation to him and he explained to me she (my landlord) didn't want to give him the information and she was giving him a whole book of information and he had 20 other calls on the line and then swore in the process!
