great pizza!! The owner is wonderful and the staff is very friendly. Whenever I pass through Davison I always make sure to take one home.

I grew up going to the original restaurant across the street and always loved the special taste of John's! I moved away 30 years ago and on every visit home I have gone to John's to get my fill of good homemade pizza. I have now made my last trip - John's is no longer special. First, the mushrooms started coming out of cans, then the waitstaff became surly & incompetent, and now the pizza is bland & many times burnt on the edges. As an example of incompetence the server this last time tried to tell me Coke Zero and Diet a Coke are the same thing and wanted to argue with me when I said Diet Coke has a totally different taste. He then said they changed after they conducted a vote on FB and the majority wanted Coke Zero over Diet Coke. What a dumb approach, Diet Coke drinkers should stop and get a Bug Gulp so something tastes good! read more

Below average pasta dishes and pizza. We have been there for several special occasions and were very disappointed.

Pizza is ALWAYS delicious and prepared with care. however, I have found that the best option when choosing Johns is takeout. the service in the restaurant hasn't been very good the past few times we've tried it, but the pizza is good enough to keep us coming back for takeout. read more

The service was terrible and the pizza was over-cooked. It took 40 minutes to get our pizza. We had to ask the waitress where it was. She had to check and responded with the order was misplaced and had just been re-entered. They offered no apologies for the service or the over-cooked pizza. Great service, very friendly staff. Delicious food. Even the steak is amazing. Boyfriend's brother in law was supposed to share and he failed at it. He was really impressed with the flavor. The breadsticks are HUGE!! And the meat sauce is so good. I finished my 9" pizza before anyone else at the table finished their food. They also have a separate carry out next door. I love this little place! I'd like to try the pasta next time. Update: we were craving steak and were starving, so we came here because we didn't want to wait at the steakhouses on a fri. For $17, the 14 oz was delicious. We are both sure it was more than 14 ounces. It was cooked perfectly and it didn't have much fat. I got chicken soup and a baked potato and was impressed. Have not been here in years and was glad to be back. The pizza here was very good and the price points were of value as well. We all ate pizza and stomboli and shared an antipasto salad. By the way I am not sure if I have ever mentioned here in this forum just how annoyed I am that the wait staff actually have to ask me or any other customer their choice of salad dressing? HUH? What part of Antipasto Salad says anything other than duh ITALIAN !!! Anyway quality of all food was awesome and the service was very good as well. The only other thing preventing the place from a 5 star rating would be the beer price. I would like to see dining customers receive a better price on beer. This family owned and operated pizzeria is one of the best pizza places in Davison hands down! And they have excellent breadsticks and Stromboli's along with a great kids menu. This place is great for lunch, dinner, or take out. We have also used their banquet room for large gatherings and catering. read more

I really like their pizza. They load it with toppings and it's not too heavy with cheese. The crust is nice and thin. I don't leave feeling greasy and overly-stuffed like some pizza places make you feel. Also, their homemade Italian dressing is the best. read more

Gluten free pizza is not celiac friendly which makes offering gluten free pointless if the people that need to eat that way cant. Nothing more than a pr campaign. You will get sick!! Glutenfreewatchdog and the Nima sensor folks both have tested this product. If you cant have gluten do not eat this!!! None of my family celiac or otherwise will be eating here. To me...they lie and put peoples health at risk. Celiac or non celiac its irresponsible and there should be repercussions for places like this. read more

If you want overpriced frozen and canned food, this is the place to go! I was going to order some sautéed mushrooms with my fettuccine. We asked if these were canned and indeed they were. So we opted for the chicken instead. $27 for two small Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo dishes. The chicken tasted (and felt) frozen. Upon asking the waitress, she confirmed that they bring the chicken in fresh, marinade it, and then FREEZE it. (Fresh-Frozen). What's the point of buying fresh chicken if you're going to destroy it by freezing it? Raise your prices and get some quality ingredients coming in. Over priced service was not that good either waited forever just for a drink to get refill and we ordered salad pizza and bread sticks and came to 56 dollars before tip and lady bought us are salad plates and dressing and 15 mins later bought us are salad and 30 after bought are pizza not worth that and full order was oly 6 for 12 dollars read more

Great food and small intimate atmosphere. I thought the food was great. I ordered the lasagna which was delicious. I also went with a large group at the last minute and they graciously accommodated us. The group had ordered many individual items and the waitress was extraordinary. She kept up on everyone's drinks and cleared plates with ease. I was highly impressed at the level of professionalism and courtesy. Definitely recommend! read more

ive been going here for years and have been satisfied up until Friday the 22nd. we had my moms funeral dinner here. what a mess.. they had 2 girls bartending.. with personalities of a brick wall. slower than ive ever seen.when you book a party of mainly adults you make sure you have enough staff to handle a good amount of people.. lining up for food was an entirely different nightmare..the food was not served in a timely manner..people waited way too long in line.. a buffet is food being there at all times..not the case..very unfriendly staff. very disappointed and to top it all off the bill was almost $1000.00 I about passed out. they would not adjust anything.. we could have picked anywhere in davison..we made a bad choice.. will never rec0mmend your restaurant to anyone.. lisa wolfe read more

This place is a great spot to unwind after a long day. The staff are extremely friendly but not intrusive. It's quiet, and casual enough that you don't get side-eyed coming in in dirty work clothes. The food is I'd say average to above-average, however their pizza and toasted subs are both rather good. Super clean, fast, delicious Italian eatery. This is a place I frequent when coming to town to visit family. They have generous portions that serve as a second meal. Their pizza ingredients are fresh, a nice wine selection and the baked dishes are classic. My mom loves the spaghetti with two meatballs and I agree. Go have fun. read more

I came in with my family and ordered an antipasto and pizza and the salad was amazing and the pizza was very good. The food over all was good. However the service was not the greatest. The hostess we had was very kind and the owner was very friendly. However, our waitress, who had shoulder length hair was rude and had a poor demeanor and had awful service.
