Well, I've been here before, and I have liked it in the past, but my recent visit can only be summed up in 3 words, what the fuck. I went there, and ordered the soup, and it was very flavorless and bland, I'd be happier if they gave me a can of Campbell's soup, but Campbells wouldn't let this slide, there was a shard of glass in my soup, I chomped down in it, and pulled it out of my mouth, and flagged down a waitress to notify them about it, she was the only one that cared! Then our waiter came up and asked me if I wanted anything else, totally disregarding my wellbeing! I also ordered a pizza, and again, it was just ok, a little too burnt, but I won't be coming here again! Generic Italian restaurant ambiance. No manager bothered to check on us after my incident! The food is okay can be cold and i've found hairs in my food and the manager is rude and doesn't do her job as she's supposed to. She's on her phone a lot behind the to-go counter. I went to get my food for to-go and she asked what the name was and I told her and she went and got my food and it wasn't the correct food because she was on her phone while asking about my food. First time here and it has a weird side entrance. Waited for a table and there was no line oh well. Sat at table (booths too high and wobbles from other patrons moving w a table awkwardly low) for a while after an unfriendly hostess gave my partner and I one plate and 2 sets of silverware. Cold bread arrived after the wine and we had salad yay. But my partner waited a few more minutes for a plate lol. Rough start but entrees were nice. Cheap wines were way overpriced and the decor isn't very attractive-looks like a studio apt with stereotypical Italian 'art'. Also may I suggest setting a dinner AND a salad fork? Dinner for two was almost a hundred dollars but set up like a cheap diner which was misleading indeed. it's too expensive for us to go back for average food but its a clean place. I used to love this place- I actually worked there about 15 years ago. I stopped in yesterday with a friend since we were in town and to say I left completely baffled and unimpressed would be an understatement. first thing when we walked in- they could just seat us- they verbally had to keep passing us from waitress to another- nobody wanted another table apparently. the place was in no way full of bustling. Finally we were seated, the waitress got our drinks and grabbed our order when she brought them back. we ordered a bowl of meat sauce (to go with our bread), a rib appetizer, then 2 pasta dishes- shrimp tettrazini and chicken fetuccini Alfredo add mushrooms. The bread took a few minutes to get- about 10+ minutes later our bowl of sauce came out (our bread has basically gone at this point)- we had to ask for another bread (what else would we need a whole bowl of sauce for?). I had ordered meat sauce, and what came out was plain tomato sauce. I didn't even ask for that to be replaced since the first bowl took an ungodly amount of time to come out. A few minutes later our rib appetizer came out- very over cooked- could barely cut through them. we let that slide- not 2 minutes later our pasta dishes came out so now we have a ton of food in front of us- still no new bread like we asked. waitress didn't come by to check on our food quality- my fettuccini alfredo had no mushrooms that I ordered- we were in the middle of eating and the waitress came by to ask if we wanted to go boxes- we're not even half way through our pasta- we said not yet to the boxes but reminded her we still wanted our bread. About 5 minutes later we finally got our new bread- still cold in the middle but whatever at this point we were just glad to have finally gotten it. When we were ready for to go boxes - she brought them out and started packing out stuff- started with my sauce- leaving a good amount still in the bowl- at that point I told her we'll just pack it up ourselves. We planned on cannolis afterwards cuz they really are so good here but at this point who knows what the quality would have been like on those- so we skipped it. she brought our check, which she asked earlier if it was separate or together- we said separately- she also asked who had the appetizers on their bill, we told her. she brought the first bill out all together. we reminded her it was a split bill, and I also told her that I wanted the meat sauce changed to tomato sauce ($1.50 price difference, and also the mushrooms taken off the bill since I didn't receive them ($2.50 upcharge). she looked at the bill and chuckled to herself- no apology or anything- just walked away to go fix it. Brought the checks back and my friends meal and mine were switched- so she had to adjust it AGAIN. this time she just dropped the bill trays on the table and walked away saying nothing. I've NEVER not tipped a server- but theres a first time for everything and yesterday was that day. I, and my friend wrote that the service was horrible on our check slips- hopefully management caught that because I doubt the waitress was even aware of how terrible she was at her job. Unfortunately, I will never be back- which sucks cuz I really love their cannolis but with the horrible service and the waitresses bad attitude at the end- I'd had absolutely enough. Nothing really special about Italia Gardens. The food is OK -- I say OK because I've had really great experiences coupled with pretty terrible ones, so I guess on average it's a good spot to get some standard Italian fare. A favorite that has yet to disappoint: the baked mostaccoli. I order it on every visit -- definitely a safe bet. read more

My family and I five in all went to Italia Gardens in Davison 3/03/19 we all ordered spaghetti. The bread and salad was good, then the spaghetti showed up. First the waitress didn't have a cheese grinder ( they were all broke ) But all of our spaghetti's were cold room temperature. I tell the waitress she was very apologetic took all the plates and brought mine back less than 5 minutes and goes to get the other plates. My spaghetti was still cold in the center she grab mine and took it back again, nobodys plates were hot just warm, i went up front to ask for the manager. She was waiting on take out customers and answering the phone, she ask me if I was there for take out, I said No. She scurried away, I waited finally I told the hostess to send the manager to my table please. After waiting ten minutes no manager I went up front again and the manager is on the phones that are busy but I wait again she finally decided to talk to me, I told her the problem she claims spaghetti and sauce are set at a certain temp but they could heat it up for me, I told her it went back twice and was still not hot so I was done, she said she had not talk to the waitress yet but would remove the meals we didn't want. I may have said something to piss the manager off but if I can't get a meal I will have a show. But this manager didn't have enough courage to come by the table and apologize for the problem. The waitress apologized so I paid the $32. bill and we left a $7 tip, all the waitress can do is bring out what the cooks give her. I will not nor will I ever recommend Italia Gardens in Davison The food and MANAGER SUCK. I have never had a problem with Italia Gardens in Flint on Miller rd. and will drive the extra miles to eat damn good food. read more

I never liked their sauce so I stayed away, but I read online that they now had an new arabbiata sauce ( clueless how to spell that word )The sausage pasta dinner I ordered was good and there was a large enough portion to serve for my lunch the next day as well Neither my wife or I liked the Italian dressing for our salad and the bread that everyone else online had raved about we found to be only okay..... We used to go here quite often as I live in Davison and it's convenient but I think they changed owners or something happened because everything is ridiculously bland and awful the last three times We went! I'm not going back. I use to LOVE the lasagna BUT NOW it's like some frozen food that was heated up. So good! We went here for the first time and were super impressed. Super yummy sauces for their bread. I got chicken parmigiana and it was very good, crispy and good flavor and a side of Alfredo pasta also very yummy. My wife got a calzone and said she loved it and loved their ranch. Come here frequently and the food is great. However, they need to make big improvements in their pandemic take out service. Simply Take peoples cell numbers and text them when their food is ready instead of people outside waiting in the cold for their name to be called. This place got me through a hard pregnancy. I think i ordered takeouts from here everyday. I am celiac which means gluten free and they have always been reliable in that. My favorite is the gf spaghetti, italian sausage with tomatoe sauce and baked cheese. I have also gotten with and without chicken the garlic and oil pasta. Both are good. Seperate gluten free menu. The only thing i wouldnt trust on is the bbq sauce. Somethings not right with that and if you are celiac you will react to it. Tastes great, but its not entirely gf or somethung is off on handling with it, but otherwise the gf menu, ive had all of it and its great and very reliable. read more

I've been eating at Italia Gardens for my entire life (35+ years) and it is and has always been the best italian food around. Homemade bread welcomes you to your table, followed by the salad which comes with the most amazing italian salad dressing known to mankind, and lastly the main course. I always order some type of pasta and what separates Italia Gardens over EVERY other italian restaurant around is their sauce. Its a sweet tomato sauce and it is so good I could drink it by the quart! Just typing this review has my mouth salivating for more! read more

One of the BEST places to go for genuine Italian cuisine. I honestly haven't had a dish that I didn't like. The lasagna is by far my favorite! They offer unlimited salad with your dinner, which is just as delicious as the rest of the food. I also love the atmosphere. Clean, quiet and friendly while the decor makes you feel like you're dining right there in little Italy. They also have great daily specials and the prices are good. VERY disappointed with the lasagna. Their lasagna use to come in a lasagna dish, distinguishable layers and a sweet flavor and was the only thing I ordered here. It no longer has that sweet taste. When it arrived at my table it was a widespread mass of greasy cheese covering a large plate with a little bump inside which resembled something that could have been lasagna at one time. The flavor was off and the presentation was terrible. On a positive note, the Coke had a good flavor and was carbonated well. The salad was fresh and cold and excellent as always. The bread was good. I love this restaurant. Their service has always been superb. The genuine tomato sauce on pasta with cheese is the best. Other items have also been utterly enjoyable. I like their homemade salad dressings, especially the French and Ranch. If you ask for it, you will not have the classic oil and vinegar bowl served similarly to the pre-tossed bowl at Olive Garden...but MUCH better. I live close and often get take out. Go for the family pan size if you do. You will easily have leftovers for a typical family of 4. BTW, I know many locals who enjoy making a meal of the salad and bread. The authentically Italian bread is baked in house, and is excellent. Of course, you may have a different opinion, but over many years, I have never been disappointed. Went the other day for lunch. They had just opened and there were 2 other tables besides us. Ordered a calizoni and Pasta Alfredo and waited. More folks came in. Bread and salad came-it was fine. Finished our salad and waited. And waited. Watched a dozen calizonis go past us. The Mrs. saw our order sitting up ready to deliver. A waiter picked the calizoni up and took it to another table. I flagged the waiter down and asked about the food as we had been waiting over a half hour. The waiter apologized and said the oven was small, and would only hold a few calizoni but they would remake her Alfredo entre so it was fresh. At slightly over an hour our food came to the table. The calizoni was burned black, and the Alfredo had a burned ring of sauce around the top where it had been zapped in a microwave to reheat. The Alfredo sauce had separated and the butter was a yellow pool on the bottom. I also asked for some marinara sauce and the waiter looked at me like I had 2 heads. He wound up giving me a thimble full, saying if he gave me a bigger portion it would be $5. It's free and comes with the meal anywhere else. I was floored. The pasta was the worse I've had, including Pizza Hut. The calizoni rates a 2 on a 1-10 scale. People had come in after us, eaten and left before we got our food. We didn't even bother to take the crap food home. I don't need to mention they charge Carrabba prices for food not fit for a dog. We go to the Miller Rd store in Flint and it is always a good experience. This location is a new low in eating establishments. Oh, and when we paid, the waiter tossed the change on the table without looking or speaking to us. Hey! Bad food, bad service, bad attitudes, waaY overpriced. Whatta place!!
