This review is for Jim, the carpet technician who did the repair work on badly damaged carpets at the entrances of 3 rooms in our home. The damage came as a result of one or both of our cats being accidentally trapped in each of these rooms on different occasions. I had another carpet repairman come and do an unsatisfactory job which necessitated looking elsewhere. John's Carpet Repair had such great reviews I decided to give them a try. JIM arrived on time after a 20 minute heads up that he was on his way. He brought ALL the equipment you would expect to see a professional carpet repairman bring. Then he proceeded to systematically tackle each room and the end product ended up saving me hundreds, if not more than a thousand dollars in replacement costs. After another carpet repair guy flaked out on us, I contacted John's Carpet Repair through my usual Yelp research. He asked me to send him some photos and then sent over a two man team, who fixed our saggy carpets. We had a huge carpet area with a lot of very heavy furniture and workout equipment that needed to be stretched. I don't know they did it, but they got the carpets looking great and everything was put back in place. Plus, they were on time, finished quickly, and just had a great attitude about everything. I am absolutely thrilled with the final results. John himself, was very helpful and friendly, and really came through for us because we needed this work done almost immediately. Renter of mine spilled nail polish on the carpet and didn't even make an attempt to do anything with it for 2 weeks, giving it ample time to set. John came in, cut a piece of carpet from a closet, repaired it perfectly and even had a very close match in his van to fill in the closet piece. He was very quick, professional and reasonable on price. Doesn't accept Credit Cards though, not a big deal just something to note that's listed wrong on yelp. Will call again the next time my renter damages the carpet. read more

Our portable A/C unit had leaked water into the padding underneath our carpet and a mildew problem was developing, so we called this place (based on its good ratings so far, and because it was just on the other side of the highway). Unfortunately, he had just taken a big job that would be occupying him for the new few weeks, and was unable to come out and deal with it. Since it would take so long before he was available, and because it was a problem that needed an immediate solution, he gave us the advice we needed to get it done ourselves. We would have been more than happy to pay him to fix it, and if this is the level of service you get without even doing so, we will definitely be calling on him if we have any future problems. This is the second time that I have used John's Carpet Repair,with great success. The first was a bedroom carpet stretch with very heavy furniture. The second was in our new house. when we bought the house we noticed a small ridge in the family room carpet. We were told that the floor was slightly uneven, and that they had shaved the carpet pad. however, when we had John look at it ,they determined that the concrete slab had cracked, and settled unevenly. they expertly ground and cemented the crack, replaced the pad, and stretched the carpet. the repair looks fantastic. The carpet in the new condo we just bought had large wrinkles, but was otherwise in good condition. We called John's based on Yelp ratings. John stretched the carpet and got it perfectly flat, repairing areas that needed some extra from scraps. It took less time than estimated and saved us from having to buy a new carpet. Had a minor catastrophe involving a large potted plant on wool berber carpet resulting in a rotted out 12" circle directly in front of a window. Thankfully, John came by and fixed everything! Did a beautiful job with the bad spot as well as a section from the closet (the remnant color didn't quite match, but the closet was very close - was a bit tricky). John came to hide a wire underneath my carpet today and you can't see it at all! there is no evidence that John was ever here, except that the cord is sufficiently hidden! Not only that, but I wasn't home while he was here, I put blue tape up to show where it needed to go, and he did it perfectly! read more

John fixed a large pull in my berber carpeting by finding a remnant strip tucked under the floorboard in a closet. He glued the piece in place, trimmed it nicely, and even gave me a free bottle of stain remover. Once the area was cleaned, it looked great. We needed some gaps in our carpet repaired after removing some old baseboard heaters, so we called John based on other solid reviews here. Instead of patching our carpet, he was able to stretch the existing material to fill the gap. I was seriously impressed with his work, which left the carpet looking perfect. I'm not sure why this is called John's Carpet Repair here, when this business is really Best Carpet Repair, Dye & Clean, operated by Dave. Strangely, it has another listing but is marked as closed. But no matter - Dave was able to come out the SAME DAY to fix my buckled carpet. He did a terrific job, explaining the process as he went. All of the horrible buckles in my carpet are gone, so my visitors can stop tripping over them. I'd highly recommend Dave if you are in need of carpet repair. read more

I called John on a Monday, and his contractor, Erich, was at my house on Wednesday. He did a great job. They stretched the carpet in two bedrooms, and were able to maneuver around all of the furniture. They were done in two hours! A lot of their business comes from fixing shoddy carpet installation jobs from Empire and Home Depot. Ours was installed by Empire, which only provides a one year warranty for installation. We noticed bubbling/rippling in our carpet two years after installation. I was not happy to have the carpet stretched, but I was glad that I found John's carpet repair. read more

John's carpet repair fixed a burn hole in a brand new carpet. He was able to fit me in to his schedule within a few days of my call . He did an excellent job in repairing the hole. I highly recommend him for any of your carpet repair needs. His prices were reasonable, and his workmanship was excellent. There is also another "John" at Regis Carpets - they know each other. I must say that both John's Carpets and Regis carpets both do excellent work - I would highly recommend either of them. What a deal! I had removed a built-in bookcase from a basement room, which left a 12-inch strip of exposed concrete slab that ran a full 8 feet across the back wall. The carpet in the rest of the room was brand new and I really did not want to replace it. John was able to take carpet from one of the closets and fill this very large and unsightly gap, at a fraction of the cost of recarpeting the room. There is no visible seam at all and the room looks great. John was on time, professional, tidy, and completed the job in the estimated time for the estimated cost. Highly recommended. read more
