I'm a truck driver. I like to park my truck and ride my bicycle to local nearby food places…read more(nothing big chain). Sometimes, the ride is not worth the work of getting there. The staff only gets 2 stars. I approach the counter and the employee behind the register only stares at me. I have to initiate the conversation. Zero people person skills. After placing my order and paying for it (which was not overly priced), I was then told by this employee that they are out of the beer that I had chosen. Once again, the employee just stares at me. Not sure what for. Then it was silent for about 10 seconds till the shift manager offers a fountain drink instead. The cleanliness of the restaurant was ok, but the lighting inside was really dim. In fact, the parking lot lights were brighter. So I had to sit by the window to see my food. So the building design gets 3 stars. It only took about 10 minutes for my pizza to arrive at my table. 5 stars for that. The crust wasn't over or under cooked. There was only about a half inch of border crust. There wasn't an excessive amount of toppings (a lot of times they pile on the toppings to cover up the crappy crust or sauce). Plenty of cheese. Kinda dry though. I would have liked to see more sauce. The pizza wasn't cut into the traditional triangle pieces. They were more rectangle shape. 4 stars for the pizza. Overall, this was not a bad trip to make. The business needs to work on the customer experience aspect. I would recommend this place over a large chain pizza restaurant. 3.5 stars total.

My wife and I were in the mood for pizza so, of course, we searched Yelp to find the closest…read morenon-chain pizza place. Johnny's was one of the first listed and it happened to be just a couple of miles from our hotel. The first thing I noticed when I walked inside, was that there was no menu board or menus anywhere to be found. When it was our turn to order at the front counter, I asked the young man if he had a menu that I could look at. His response was, "There are usually a few menus out there somewhere." Fortunately, a co-worker heard me ask and was able to get one and bring it to the front counter. We ordered and took our seats. Shortly after sitting down, the line at the counter began to grow. That made me feel certain that we were at the right place as it was getting quite busy. I reasoned that the pizza must be a local favorite. When our pizza came to the table I wasn't disappointed. The crust was cooked perfectly and they were very generous with the toppings. My only complaint is that it was a bit dry. A little more pizza sauce would have been great. I almost asked if I could get a side dish of the sauce but decided against it as the line at the counter was long and moving slowly. That brings me to the reason for the 3 stars. It was very disorganized and the staff seemed confused at times. The phone never stopped ringing and was basically ignored in deference to those waiting in line. I'm not necessarily against that, but it has to be frustrating to those trying to call in an order. The delivery staff seemed to be constantly coming and going, so an employee dedicated to taking call-in orders would be worth the extra payroll expense, I would think. If they get organized and running smoothly, this could be a 5 star restaurant in no time. I couldn't identify who the manger was; they all looked like college-aged young people to me with no one taking charge. The addition of a menu board - even if just a chalk board - would speed up the process considerably. When you have to ask for a menu when it's your turn at the counter and then stand there and decide what to order, it takes valuable time. They have good pizza with a pleasant dining area in which to enjoy it. They just need some organization and they'd be sitting on a gold mine.
