First and foremost anyplace that gives the customer service I got deserves the stars, especially if…read morenot on commission sales as I took 30 minutes with them on the parts alone and they still helped other customers at the same time. Needed Accoustic strings some replacement parts, gave me a better price than I can get on the net this is for my sons beginner basic guitar from a tag sale. The guy at the counter dropped his jaw when he saw it turns out it's a budget line that was put out in the 70's from Martin that's now a collectible. Gave me a rough estimate of value & told me if ever wanted to sell it he wanted Dibs(lol) didn't try and push me to buy other items not needed, suggested that a set of strings on clearance was better deal than the others. They were saved me about $6.00 and better quality just discontinued stock. I needed a Trombone mouthpiece for an old one I pulled out of the closet from high school 40+ years ago, rather than $60 online or $49.95 in store he had a display one that needed to be polished ?20 out the door. Just picked up a 1920's trumpet on auction needs a mouthpiece, also bought another used cornet needs a little work but I'm just getting back into playing after a LONG hiatus. They have sheet music specific to the instruments, if I need one they don't have (bittersweet symphony) they can download and print what I need already arranged for less than I can. I found an upright school piano on craigslist asked them if it was worth purchasing learned it was one they had sold years ago said if it was still in tune go for it otherwise save my $$$ as it would cost a fortune to tune or if a string broke they were nonstandard & would be next to impossible without changing a ton of stuff. Yet they didn't push to sell me one or an electronic keyboard my Son was looking at. NO PRESSURE SALES unlike some other places. It's called excellent customer service, a very rare thing in Myrtle Beach and Worldwide. If I was playing professionally I wouldn't think twice about dealing with them. As someone just getting back to playing & needing everything was treated like I had spent a million dollars with them. Even suggested a better fingering technique than I was being taught on guitar, since I have arthritis in my hands and wrists super important tip. Now if all the brass instruments come back to me I'll buy the city licenses an play on the boardwalk this Summer. Get it off my bucket list.

did an absolutely horrible job setting up my SG. I had a issue with notes not sustaining and dying…read moreout in the high frets and they didn't fix that issue at all. I mean even my strat which has a bolt on neck still has more sustain than my SG which they were supposed to have fixed.

Now, admittedly I'm not a guitar player but I'm surrounded by friends, family, and a husband who…read moreall are so I pick things up by osmosis and I can confidently say that Rusty's Cool Guitars is a pretty darn cool place. It's small but mighty and they pack a lot into their limited square footage. The first thing I noticed when we walked in are all the pedals. I never realized how fun and colorful these are until we went into the shop and saw them all displayed on the wall. I usually notice them on the floor of some grungy rock venue stage and never appreciated how aesthetically awesome they are (a few months later I would go on to make my husband a guitar pedal birthday cake and I 100% credit Rusty's for the inspiration). I was also informed that in addition to aesthetics, the pedals themselves were top notch. The guitars themselves are high end and really beautiful and unique. It's not a place you get your first guitar. But if you're a connoisseur, collector, or just admirer of the instrument you should definitely check the place out.

I just got off the phone with someone at Rusty's. I was looking at a used pedal but the description…read moredidnt match the photo. Minor issue but I wanted to confirm what I was buying. The guy was a condescending jerk. ..over a very simple question. The photo was of a digitech trio Plus and the description said digitech trio. two distinct pedals. So which one was I buying?. Nothing but attitude and dismissal. And he never answered the question

I had a great experience with this store. I was buying from out of State (typically a more…read moredifficult experience than necessary) and the purchase was seamless putting this bass on layaway. Upon purchasing, it was ready to ship the same day-again, highly atypical when purchasing sight unseen. Bought my bass on a Thursday and it came just in time for the weekend. It's refreshing to experience service with this degree of probity. Thanks Evan and Zoe.

We came to sell a guitar and unfortunately had a pretty rough experience. I went to use the…read morebathroom right after going in and it was a downright horrible experience. The toilet had urine all over the backside, and there was no toilet paper! Our problems only started there after I opened the guitar case up and the guy Bob working the register was overreacting negatively on the condition of the guitar. It needed to be restrung and was missing a pin but otherwise the guitar was in great shape being over a decade old. He was acting like the guitar was banged up. The body and neck of the guitar have 0 damage and tuner worked fine. A coworker remarked that he had a pin laying around for it and it's a guitar shop so getting strings in bulk prices doesn't seem like a good reason to give me such a big lowball offer. He stated a reverb price he saw that I cannot find for the life of me but can easily find my same guitar for 200 more than he found it for and that's for a used condition. I saw 799 mint condition, 600 used. I got offered 200. I only expected to get 40-50% of the guitars value and I might have sold the guitar just to get it off my hands but his demeanor ended up being the reason why we couldn't bear to sell it to guitar center. He made negative remarks about his other coworkers to us for some reason. Needs a new job. Honestly I wouldn't consider even shopping there again.
