It's in a repurposed condo complex near the Sheraton where I stayed and it is such a great idea for a guitar shop, you really need to check it out! The owner, goes by T. He will tell you to play whatever you want. You will then notice you can rent the guitars --- how cool!!! This was perfect for a guy traveling like I was. The rental fee was very modest and there was the option to also keep the guitar, which made me think is the best guitar shop idea I had seen. This dude has earned his multiple 5 star ratings and I am really glad to have met him. Way chill guy, fair prices too, and that made me another satisfied customer! In this town, there really was only the option to get a used guitar from a pawn shop and I hit ALL OF THEM first and found only junk. I had been seeing their guitars on Craigslist for quite some time and then checking out their web site, so decided to go and check out their store. I thought it was going to be like one of those "Guitar Store that is look but don't touch until I get around to you" store. Not the case here. Just cool down to earth folks, really cool to talk to. they showed me the guitar room and pretty much said have at it, so I did and ended up playing quite a few different guitars, I felt like I was at home just jammin'. Hands down this is THE best place for any type of guitar repair, guitar knowledge, or guitar sales I have come across in the last 30 years. T, the owner is super friendly, knowledgable, and his prices are unbeatable. I brought my guitar in for a repair that was a very delicate issue to the neck of the guitar and his repair was beyond words. The fix was solid and very low priced. I was blown away. Searched the Myrtle Beach area for a guitar teacher on google. We found T Moody from Guitarzan went to his location and found him to be very knowledgeable. All I can say is that my son has been going there for a little more than 2 month and purchased a guitar from his selection of guitars. I don't think I will be able to pull him away from T Moody. His wife Jill, who is also very knowledgeable always answer any questions you may have. I'm a beginning guitar student and I'm also on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. Not wanting to lose what I've learned I searched the web to see if there was any place in Myrtle Beach who did short-term rentals of guitars. GuitarIst was the answer to my needs. "T", the owner, and his wife could not have been friendlier. The guitar is working out great as I'm able to get my practice time in each day. Awesome experience at Guitarzan yesterday. We traded in 4 and got 2, plus an amp. TMoody fixed the Floyd Rose on my son's Dean Razorback too...what an expert. We have been to Owens in Myrtle Beach and Guitar Center in Charleston and Guitarzan blows them away. We will not spend any $ with anyone else from now on. We just moved to Pawley's Island SC from Fayetteville, WV and have been buy/playing guitars for years....TMoody is the best we have found. It was a little hard to find, but that doesn't change the 5 star rating. The people working were super friendly; the receptionist just walked me back into a room with about 15 guitars, she showed me where cables, tuners, and guitar picks were and just told me to have at it. Today I sold an Ibanez and purchased another Ibanez with the folks at GuitarZan. Great people and a great shop tucked away in the heart of Myrtle Beach.
