The high-level alarm on my septic tank system triggered a few days ago. The alarm is in our…read morebasement storage room and lets the homeowner know that the septic tank pump system is not functioning properly and will most likely result in sewage waste to back up into the house. I called Douglas County Septic and Adrian arrived the next day. He examined the two 750-gallon tanks, but of course focused on the liquid tank where the effluent pump, pump float and high-level alarm float sensor is located. The 27-year-old pump was operating at a minimal level. Adrian removed the existing pump and temporarily installed a pump he had on hand and his temporary pump worked like a charm. I did not realize that our 27-year-old pump, float and alarm float were way past their 10-15-year life span. Adrian removed the temporary pump and installed a brand-new effluent pump, new pump float and new high-level alarm float sensor. He also removed the 2" rubber coupling and installed a 2" union to be county code compliant. Instead of securing the pump float and high-level alarm float sensor to the 2" effluent pump pipe, he secured the floats to a smaller diameter PVC pipe that stands adjacent to the 2" pump pipe. His rationale was that if the floats ever fail the service technician can pull that small PVC pipe with the floats out to service rather than disconnecting and pulling the pump. Adrian also advised me to have an electrician bring the electrical connection housing up to county code. The current electrical setup allows mice and water runoff to enter the electrical connections. I have an electrician coming to my house next week for other work and will ask the electrician to bring the electrical box up to code with a sealed and dry box. They forgot to tell me of their additional standard $200 for finding and digging out the lids. My job was scheduled for the morning. It was delayed until afternoon while they handled an emergency. I could not be home at that time and they were willing to do it without me around. They are company that is willing to take care of emergencies. And they are willing to do the pumping when no one is around. Except for neglecting to tell me about their standard additional $200, they did a good job.

Every drain in the house--kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry--was backing up. We called Mile High Drain Cleaning Inc. for help, expecting a professional solution. Instead, we were met with astronomical fees just for an initial assessment, followed by even higher charges to "fix" the problem. We paid because the situation was critical. Shockingly, the same issue returned the next day. When we called them back, they refused to stand behind their work and demanded another $175 just to look at the problem again. We paid, hoping for resolution--but nothing changed. The original issue remains, and we are out hundreds of dollars with no results. This is a warning to anyone considering this company: Think twice before hiring Mile High Drain Cleaning Inc. In our experience, they charged excessive fees, failed to fix the problem, and then charged again without delivering any solution. Their lack of accountability and professionalism turned an emergency into an even bigger nightmare.

Unfortunately, just a few days later--by Friday--we had another backup in the exact same drain. When we contacted the company, we were told it would cost another $175 emergency fee just for them to come back and check whether the original clog was fully cleared. There was no willingness to inspect their prior work or stand behind the service we already paid for. In my opinion, standing behind your work means at least verifying whether the original issue was properly fixed--especially when the same problem returns within days. Being charged again just to see if the clog was actually cleared feels unfair and disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not trust this company. I recommend reading the other one-star reviews carefully before hiring them.

I have a few…read moreelectricians I've used before, so I had a few to choose from when my light fell down a couple days ago. But they usually can't fit me in for a week or two. Plus, if all went well with the light, I had a few more items I wanted to discuss, and they would require a Handyman. So I called Tim (Artsem is his full name, in case you've seen that in other reviews), he picked up first call, I explained about the light, and I asked how soon he could come? I said "Can you come tomorrow?" Now I don't know if he usually works on Saturday, but he said "Sure, how about 9 - 10am?" Worked great for me! So I showed him the light, thinking he would have to get into the attic to get "above" the fixture to replace the cup-thing it screws into, but he said no, everything is done down below. So he ran to Home Depot to get the correct cup thing, and knowing he was heading to HD anyway, I said "See this rusted vent? I tried to unscrew it and change it myself, but it's caulked on tight. Can you replace that?" "Sure!" (Add $10 to my bill. I'm happy with that!!) So I showed him another vent in the basement, and he did that one also. While we were at it, I asked him to put some wall anchors on a tall set of cabinets in the garage, and anchor it to the wall so that it never tips over. And I showed him where a hook on the garage wall fell down because I hung too many folding chairs on it. He picked up some extra long screws at Home Depot, and took care of that too. In addition, I thought that my ceiling fan wasn't working, and had him look at it. He found the problem quickly, and it's working again! Same thing with a lightbulb in the basement subfloor that wasn't working, he got it working again. So I am super happy to have found Tim, and I will 100% for sure be using him again very soon, because I have lots more on my Honey-Do list. Someone asked in the Questions section how much he charges: I believe his minimum fee may be $100. But it seemed that each little thing that I asked him to do (like replace the vents, anchor the cabinet to the wall, re-hang the hook in the garage), he priced at $10 each. I believe he said he charges either "$60 per hour, or a flat rate", like when my fixture fell down, he asked me to send pictures, I did, and he texted me a flat rate without seeing it in person, and I loved his price and said yes. For small items that are quick, like 10 minutes, would be about $10. (He does add on the Home Depot price of whatever he has to buy to do it, so $16 for each of my vents. Therefore, $16 + $10 = $26. Can't beat that! So be sure and find a few items that need fixing, and call for it all to be done in one trip. I was 10/10 pleased with his pricing, I felt his prices are low, but his ability and expertise is high!! Anyway, if you live in Denver, I would call Tim, and if it is something he has done before and knows how to do, I bet you are going to be super happy like I am!! Thanks, Tim!

The office phone was answered as soon as we called, the appointment was scheduled immediately, and the pump truck operator showed up on time, completed his job efficiently, and even gave us a customer discount. Flow-Rite charged me $760 and left me with a clogged drain and a leaking sink drain. Another…read morecompany came out the same afternoon, cleared the clog and fixed the leak in about 20 minutes for $142. ------------------- We initially called Flow-Rite for a clogged kitchen sink. They charged $380 to snake the drain with a Spartan 100. The technician tried twice but was unable to clear the clog. I asked about other options, but no alternative method was attempted. He said he was very confident hydrojetting would not work (and they charge another $760 for it) and no other method was proposed. The technician then examined the drain pipe in our basement and concluded that it had negative pitch. Based on that, Flow-Rite proposed more than $2,000 in plumbing work that would also have required removing cabinets and opening a wall, leaving me responsible for repairing everything afterward. Before agreeing to that, I called another drain company. I intentionally did not tell them Flow-Rite's diagnosis because I didn't want to bias their assessment. Their technician simply snaked the same drain and cleared it in about 20 minutes. The sink has drained normally since. He also fixed a leak in the sink drain that Flow-Rite had just replaced. Flow-Rite also managed to scratch my hardwood floor with their machine (see the photos).... I called Flow-Rite afterward and spoke with a manager. He stood by their negative-pitch diagnosis and told me their measurement was "pretty accurate." But if the pipe's pitch was the cause of the blockage, I don't understand why another technician was able to clear it with a snake or why it now drains normally. I also raised the leaking drain Flow-Rite installed. The manager told me these repairs sometimes leak after different-temperature water is run through them and that they usually need to come back and tighten them. If that's expected, I don't understand why I wasn't told that or why a follow-up wasn't scheduled. Flow-Rite offered me a $100 refund. Ultimately, I paid Flow-Rite $760 and still had a clogged drain plus a new leak. I then paid another company $142, and both problems were fixed in about 20 minutes. Based on my experience, I would not use Flow-Rite again nor recommend others use this company

UPDATE from 7/15 Review: 8/6/21 - TWO MONTH'S SINCE SERVICE…read more& STILL DOUBLE CHARGED. Since writing this review Rubin called me a liar and threatened legal action. He said he is not a thief yet he still has my $700 from double billing me two months later. See images attached of double billing. He even admits to having my money yet has not refunded it. DO NOT USE!
