When I was 8 my dentist, (whose name believe it or not was Dr. Seuss) decided there was a place on one of my molars that "might become a cavity at some point". So my mom paid him to drill into a perfectly fine tooth & fill it with mercury. I learned then that novacaine had no effect on that tooth specifically. A lesson I would learn again 32 years later after I chomped down on a delicious piece of crunchy baguette & moments later cut my tongue on a jagged tooth. Turns out amalgum-mercury fillings expand & contract & 1/2 my molar broke right off. Fast forward through the first two fixes at the dental school (both of which I felt) to 2023 & enter Dr. Savko. He is so nice. So reassuring. So professional. He considers everything. He took into account my past experiences with novacaine & went with something different & it worked so well I didn't feel a thing. He's funny & fun. The staff is also great. Always good music playing. I never thought I would get that tooth fixed. Ever. So happy! He's actually now one of my favorite doctors. read more

Dr. Nicole Le was amazing. I hadn't gone to the dentist in over 2 years and I came to her as a new patient, she was great. She was very informative, funny, nice. I liked that she was educating me while cleaning my teeth. I had a couple of cavities and She was willing to work with me on my insurance to see if I was covered for this year. I'm happy to say that both dentists are the best. I was a child at a time when the dentist was a white, older male with a long sharp needle, so, yes, I still grip the dental chair. I have been a patient with Doctors Le and Savko for longer than any other dentist(s), because they and their staff are sensitive, caring, friendly. and responsive. They always ask, "Are you doing ok?", when I am seated and throughout a cleaning, a cavity fill or a check up. It takes me a while to calm down, but they have pics of hot air balloons on the ceiling, I breathe deep, they check in with me and I leave with very proud teeth. My only wish would be sounds of classical or yoga type music to help steady the nerves for the first 20 minutes. read more

Hadn't been to dentist in 3 yrs, but Le & Savko were able to get me in quickly. Dr. Savko was super nice but also to the point. He let me know what is going on with my teeth, what needs to be done, a few cavities and probably a crown in the future. Then had a cleaning from great hygienist. Dr Savko is an amazing dentist!! I was past due and in dire need of an exam and cleaning. Since I am newer to the area, I needed a new dentist.Going to the dentist can be scary, especially when its your first time at that practice. The moment I walked through the doors everyone made me feel welcome and at home. Dr Savko uses the most respect when working. He has a gentle hand, my mouth was pain free the whole time. He is also very informative,I learned a lot about my teeth I didnt know! I loved chatting with him while he cleaned away. I also got xrays using a digital xray machine, which was much faster and easier than non digital. The coolest part about the digital xray is that the pictures come right up on the computer for you to see for yourself. I would most definitely reccomend this practice. I had to see another dentist while out of state...she is now FIXING what they screwed up and has treated my periodontal dz which I've had forever. I finally feel better after years! Watch out for painful cleanings! I was a patient for years and had regular teeth cleanings. The hygienist always caused pain and bleeding. I didn't realize how painful the cleanings were until I recently tried another dental office. In addition, she didn't keep notes on my specific preferences (which almost all hygienists do). The last time I went in, the hygienist was very rude and told me I should re-schedule because she didn't like my questions. I gave one extra star for acceptable dental work from the dentist. read more

I am not a "dentist" kind of lady. My last dentist was alright, but I was never really comfortable and he seemed a little "old school". I just forced myself to sit through the appointments because I know the importance of good oral hygiene. I don't like the idea of sitting in a chair while someone is uncomfortably close to my face, peering into my mouth, and poking around with sharp, shiny instruments. Oh, and I have a horrid gag reflex. One day, after a huge discussion at work about dentists during my lunch break, a colleague of mine recommended Dr. Savko and Dr. Le's practice. Since I wasn't attached to my old dentist, I thought I'd give them a shot. I am so glad I did. I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and fresh smell of the office. This may not seem important, but take it from someone with a gag reflex...it is. The front desk staff was courteous and pleasant. The magazine collection held a wide variety and the furniture was comfortable. The minute I walked in, I felt relaxed and comfortable. The dental hygienist who assisted me back into the appointment was friendly. She was easy to talk to and, well, nice. She explained everything to me as it was happening and made sure that my questions were answered. For my first visit, Dr. Savko did my exam...which I found refreshing, since most of the time, the dentist will make a guest appearance at the end of an appointment. He told me he always spend extra time the first appointment "to get to know a person's teeth." He was personable, and friendly. Dr. Savko also explained everything as he went along and made sure my questions were answered. His practice also utilizes recent dental technology....everything was very high tech and modern. I felt calm for pretty much throughout my appointment. Even when I found out that I had to go back to have a few cavities filled, I was not too upset. They also gave me some good tools to use for flossing my teeth (something that I don't like doing too often due to the whole gagging thing). Oh, and he's also a lefty....which is pretty cool. Overall, I felt relaxed, happy, and confident in the abilities of Dr. Savko and his staff. I will definitely be recommending him and his practice to anyone who asks me about a dentist. read more

My wife came home from visiting the dentist (Dr. Le) after a recommendation from a co-worker and told me she had just seen the best dentist she had ever been to. Having dental problems of my own, I made an appointment and was scheduled with Dr. Savko her husband. Before I continue you should know that I'm 72 years old and have been treated by dentists on all levels, from worst to best in terms of competency, care, cost and above all infliction of pain. I have always HATED going to the dentist and my teeth needed a lot of work to say the least. In one visit I knew I had found a superb dentist. Dr. Savko will take the time to explain exactly what needs to be done, how it should be prioritized for the best medical results, your overall dental health, appearance and also according to your needs (work schedule, financial concerns etc.) I can also honestly say that he is in a league of his own in minimizing if not completely eliminating any pain. He always explains what he is doing and why including what a procedure will cost. His support staff are all caring and professional and Candace, the wonderful office manager, will walk you through everything financial and help you set up payment via your insurance or through Care Credit which I have found very helpful. Recently, both Dr. Savko and Dr. Le went above and beyond to take care of a dental problem (abscessed tooth) that needed completion before some serious medical procedures could take place. They really care about and look after their patients and for that I will be ever grateful. I have only one regret to express, and it is that I have taken too long to write and post a review of my experience with these two terrific doctors so that others know about them. read more

Dr. Savko is great. I just had a crown done. He uses the latest technology to make it a one day affair. He uses state of the art computer milling to make the crown in the office while you wait. I have zero complaints about my visit. The location is nice and quiet. The facility is clean and friendly (newest magazines AND a neat historic book on Santa Rosa). Receptionist is very accommodating regarding scheduling. The technology they use during your exam and cleaning makes everything more comfortable and understandable (you can see your xrays as they take them). John and his assistant explained everything they did and why without a lecture. They were both pretty amusing as well. I can't believe it but my visit was painless! I'm not afraid to go back to get the rest of the work done that I need. I also did not feel like I was being sold anything unnecessary. All of my life I was scared of the dentist. I was scared of my bad teeth, the pain, and all the work. And as I got older, of shady dentists who charge too much. As someone who has been gifted with healthy teeth and gums my dentist appointments are relatively uneventful. My first visit to Dr. Savko was just the opposite, but not in a bad way. I have seen many dentists over the years but none have been as thorough. He pointed out not just what issues I should be aware of, but what was going right as well. While the dentist was great and the staff was nice enough I have to focus on the main person you speak with, Candace, the office manager. I found out after the fact that she gossips about patients to others in the community . I do not know Candace at all and my only dealings with her were to update insurance information. She was rude and extremely unprofessional. She latter talked about my husband and I to other patients which is how we found this out. I must say, that of all the dentists' offices, this is the best across the board. What I mean is that the entire staff is cheerful, helpful, and respectful. Dr. Savko tends to me, and he was wonderful today for my cleaning. They also work with one to get the best care while respecting one's budgetary limitations, and provide great service no matter what. Candace, the office manager, is also and RDA, so I know she wears several hats and is very busy, yet she's very helpful, too. Brandy polished my teeth today and she was very pleasant and made the time go quickly. She even brought me a blanket when I was cold! Yay all the way around! I seriously recommend them for *anyone* who either isn't totally pleased with his/her current office and treatment, or for those who are afraid to return after many years of no dental care.
