I met John and his master craftsman Eric about 7 years ago. John's expertise and Eric's wood craftsmanship are just the best you could ask for. John's experience and knowledge of building construction as well as having a keen eye for making good suggestions while trying to keep your costs down is such a great work ethic. We had remodeled our home in Felton in 2010. Our two bedroom two bath home was needing an upgrade and John came over, walked through our home, listened to what we were trying to achieve and his ideas and what we got in the end was perfect. One thing I liked was that he wanted us to be around while he was working so that if he had any questions we would be able to help. His work ethic was spot on. Arriving at 8 am everyday working throughout the day with a couple of 15 minute breaks, 30 minute lunch and finished at 4:30 pm to cleanup the job site and leave by 5 pm. Everyday . You couldn't ask for a better work ethic. He drew up basic plans, knows what the building inspectors want and gives you great advice where to buy certain items from plumbing fixtures, doors,lighting and more. We brought John in to perform major structural changes to our home. The architect's drawings were incomplete, and John guided us through the necessary conversations with him. There were also items in the plan that could be done using simpler materials, and John helped with those conversations as well saving us many hundreds of dollars. A major remodel like this is always disruptive, but John and Eric stayed on schedule and cleaned up each day making our life much easier. He knows what to do and is willing to share good advice. This review is so deserved and overdue!! My parents, who had hired him to remodel their entire home in 2010, referred me to John Robinson. Having seen his work first hand and having lived within it, I knew John would do a great job on our kitchen remodel, and he did not disappoint. The entire process was near flawless due to John's professionalism, reliability, and hard work ethic. I say 'near' flawless because there were just two small set backs that were both out of John's control, but that he worked through to continue the job as soon as possible. As the homeowner, I really appreciated working with John because of his dedication to our project. He is very direct, straight to the point and honest, not to mention reliable, thorough, and precise. He would show up when he said he would, and put in the work to make sure he stayed on schedule. He would always welcome any and all questions that I had about the timeline of completion and the financial payment schedule and what that included or didn't include (and I was very pregnant through this remodel so I think there were definitely more questions than necessary!...but John never shied away). He loves working along side people who take a true ownership in their homes and who ask all their questions to make sure that the project ends exactly as the they want it to; he's a collaborator. He has so much experience to bring to the table and if something is not quite what the owner had imagined, he'll work to get it exactly right until it is. This was my first experience with construction and remodeling and the nature of it can be quite difficult! The planning, the phone calls, the research, and the overload of choices that need to be made can become so overwhelming, but John really helped me navigate my way through to the end...he made it as easy as it could have possibly been for me, which shows how much he cares about the outcomes of his projects and the people involved. I would highly recommend John Robinson to my nearest and dearest, which says a lot.
